Route 8 - Underground Path DESCRIPTION - The underground tunnel that was once used as a safe passage for trainers to get from Route 8 to Route 7, passing directly underneath Saffron City. The passage is long and dark, almost cave-like. Trainers can no longer enter this once-well-traveled path, fore it is under construction! Construction workers are seen entering and leaving the facility at all times of the day and night, but in reality, they aren't working on the tunnel. In fact, they aren't even construction workers! Inside, it still looks like the old tunnel, but there is a secret passage, revealing that there are 12 more sub-levels below the tunnel. But in order to get here, you must first get the key to get into building, find the secret passage, and then pass a retinal/hand scan in order to pass through to the Rocket Base. Waiting for you there are hundreds of Rocket Members and a labyrinth of mazes and puzzles to keep even the most stubborn of trainers away. LOCATION - The Main Entrance is on Route 8, between Lavender Town and Saffron City. There is another Entrance on Route 7. PEOPLE - A few people can always be seen standing outside the two entrances, appearing to be Construction Workers taking their lunch or smoke breaks. RESOURCES/EVENTS/PLACES OF INTEREST - Nothing - It's just a construction site. No need to check here, just keep on going with your Pokemon Journey.

She had noticed the little grunt following her, but she paid no mind to it After-all, he had the proper forms of identification to get in, and he was obviously registered in the Rocket database if he could get past the scanners. He was no threat to her, as far as she was concerned, he was just a lost and misguided grunt trying to get back to HQ.
She exited the monorail system in Saffron, making her way through the town casually and on to Route 8. She smiled in greeting to the 'construction workers' outside the Underground Path Building.
She knew the grunt was still following her. She took a key out of her cleavage (one would wonder how she fit so much in there) and unlocked the door, going inside and shutting it behind her.
She nodded to a few more undercover agents, all of them seeming to be a bit more... skiddish in her presence than usual. She merely shrugged it off and continued down the stairs to the tunnel.
It was quite dark down there. It took her a little bit of time before her eyes managed to adjust to the sudden light difference. There were a few dim lights lining the walls of the tunnel, but not enough to light it fully. With Miss Demeanor by her side, they continued down the stairs and down the long, dark tunnel. She then turned to face a wall. It looked no different from the rest of the wall in the tunnel, and knocked on it 2 times. A slot opened, eyes peering through at her.
The widened at the sight of her and even before she was able to speak the password, the doors were open!
Violet stood there, confused. She had yet to speak the password that would allow her to enter. She walked inside, the doors closing right behind her. This room was a bit brighter than the tunnel, but not too much where it would hurt her eyes. She could hear the other Rocket Members whispering as she passed them.
What in Arceus' name was going on, here!?
She got all the way to the elevator and was about to pull out her pass card for it when she spun on her heels and glowered at the grunts.
"Joo!" She pointed at one of the grunts. "Come here, tell me vat is goingk on, here."
The grunt jumped as she pointed to him and quickly ran to her, saluting before answering her question. "Haven't'cha hea'd, ma'am, Suh!? Lillith is gone! We have decided to make ya ow-ah new leadah, suh-ma'am-suh!" He saluted again.
Violet quirked an eyebrow, looking at the others as they, too, saluted her. She planned to overthrow Lillith one day and take over the syndicate, but she never thought it would be so soon -- and without her knowledge. "Joo don't say..." Her sentence trailed off as she looked at the saluting grunts. She smirked, placing one hand on her hip and looking down at Missy, who seemed just as pleased as she was. She supposed it made sense, after-all, most of the grunts were more loyal to her than they were to Lillith.
She looked down at the briefcase in her hand. This meant the Pokemon inside were hers to do whatever she liked with.
"Excellent." She stated quickly, turning away from them and swiping her key card. It made a strange beep sound, one she had never heard it make before. She stepped inside, looking at the buttons. There was a new one. One that only appears when the Leader swipes their card.
She pressed it, waiting as the elevator descended all the way to the bottom of the Rocket Base. When the doors opened, they revealed a rather lavish suite. This was the Bosses room. This -- was her room.
She smirked, making her way inside and looking around. All of Lillith's things had been removed and the place had already been redecorated for Violet's arrival. She placed the briefcase on the desk, flipping it open and taking a Shadow Ball out, the one that held Devlin. She set it on the desk, proceeded to change into her normal attire and out of her business suit, and clipped the new Shadow Ball to her waist.
It was time to look over the place with a new sense of ownership. Marvel at what was now hers. The Sneasel, after she had gotten her fill of the 5-star accommodations, followed the Rocket Leader into the elevator and back up, stopping at level B2.

If you aren't going to be civil about this ... ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Demetri had, indeed, continued to follow the woman. Not deliberately, of course, simply because they were heading in the same direction. He casually searched for his key, grinning at his Chandelure broadly once he found it. "Well, it's been somewhat of a dreaful event, Tarja. But now we're home. No place like it, eh?" The Chandelure bobbed up and down, a happy expression on her face. Demetri nodded, and walked through the door. He wasn't so worried about his next mission at the moment - truth be told, he typically didn't receive official missions from the syndicate. Rather, he had several friends and colleagues in the group that passed information and possible leads onto him, which he would make an educated appraisal on involving the ratio of risk against the ratio of gain. It was a decent system he had conjured up, which had always worked for him in the past. Well...very nearly worked out. Admittedly, he could probably stand to do a bit more research on these leads before heading out into the field. As he thought about this, he considered the fiasco that had taken place in Goldenrod, kicking himself mentally for not coming more prepared. He silently vowed to himself that he would, henceforth, work harder, and look further into the information he received before simply jumping out into the fray.
He almost hadn't noticed the strange way the members of Rocket were regarding the woman walking ahead of him until after he'd made this affirmation to himself. He raised an eyebrow, and turned to one of the undercover agents passing him - this was one of Demetri's associates, who often provided the information he sought. "Dave, what's with the tension around here? You'd think that lady had caught Giratina or something..."
"Wouldn't be a far stretch at dis point." the man said quietly, peering around before turning and leaning in toward Demetri. "Old boss is gone, D. I don't know da details, but da position's been given to dat lady."
Demetri's eyes widened, and turned back to where the woman had been, before she'd entered the disant room. He was awestruck - he'd been in the same train as the new head of Rocket...and he'd gotten his suit caught in the door. How incompetent had he looked? The thought infuriated him...he had to try and bounce back from this. "Curses...alright, Dave, you got anything for me? I'll take just about anything, I'm desperate here. That debacle with the egg nearly got me caught. I need something to save my face."
The Rocket agent pondered for a moment. "Ain't nuthin' big dat I know of, pal. Although, I did hear dat some photos 'ave been taken recently of an island, somewhere north. Supposed to be impossible to get to."
Demetri's expression suddenly shifted, a broad smile pasted on his face. "Please, Dave. 'Impossible', 'dangerous', 'idiotic'...these are all just words. Hollow constructs with no meaning. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. And besides, when I have I ever back down from a bad idea? North, you said?"
The agent nodded grimly, looking as though he were beginning to regret mentioning it. "Das right, pal. Far to da north. Easiest way to get dere'd likely be to move through Cerulean, den find a boat or somedin'. I gotta get movin', D. Watch yaself."
Demetri watched as Dave walked away, looking down to Tarja with a cunning smile and speaking in an undertone. "Sounds like we got a journey ahead of us. With any luck, there'll be something worth snagging on this mystery island. And if not...well, it'd at least be a decent discovery. It could even be a good spot for a base or a testing facility." The Chandelure bobbed up and down, signifying a nod. Demetri looked around for a moment. "Now, I'll just get the team healed up, and then we can be on our way...it's gonna be a long trip."

After walking around a bit, hearing the other Rockets congratulate her and such, she made her way back up the elevator. Here, she could see the Grunt who had been following her, earlier. He looked oddly familiar.
It was then that it hit her, he was the same grunt who mucked things up in Goldenrod.
The glass elevator doors opened and she stepped out, Missy right beside her. She scowled, placing her hands on her hips as she watched the boy walk towards the healing center.
"Joo!" She commanded towards him, walking over to him and stepping front of him. She turned to look him in the eyes. Her tall, slender build, combined with her heels, made her seem to tower over the grunt, her cold eyes would (probably) send chills down his spine.
She stood there for a bit, evaluating the grunt with her eyes before her gaze shifted to the Chandelure beside him. It was a rather nice specimen. Maybe he wasn't as useless as he had appeared to be back in Goldenrod.
She had become mighty bored recently. Destroying Violet City only alleviated that temporarily.
"Grunt." She addressed him, rolling the r. "Joo'r performance in Goldenrod vas a dismal failure. Prove to me joo are still vorthy of beingk a Rocket." She paused, sighing and stepping aside. "Hurry and heal joo'r team. Meet me on zee B5 arena." She said, and without saying another word, she turned on her spiked heel and head for the elevator, swiping her card and entering, disappearing into the floor.

If you aren't going to be civil about this ... ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Demetri stared with disbelief at the departing woman. He looked at the elevator where she'd vanished, then to his Chandelure, then back to the elevator, and to Chandelure again. "But I...did you...she just..." Once again, he planted his face into the palm of his hand, wincing, and releasing a groan. "The entire gorram world is against me, I swear..." He quickly pulled out his Pokedex, removing his Gliscor from storage. He'd need a full arsenal to even pose a challenge to this woman, and Dahlia needed to be healed, anyway. Returning Tarja to her pokeball, he placed them all on the machine, tapping his foot impatiently as he waited for the healing process to finish. Tarja hadn't even taken any damage since being released from her pokeball, but Demetri wasn't planning on taking any chances. His entire membership with the syndicate could be riding on what happened in the next ten minutes...hell, in the next three minutes. It was all subjective, depending entirely on how brutal this new Rocket leader felt like being.
Once his full team had been returned to the healthiest they were going to get, Demetri entered the elevator, swiping his card and riding it down to B5. He'd only been there once, for a brief training session against another grunt, when he was about 15. He had won, but only just barely. He'd improved since those days, but... "Don't panic...panic is the enemy...worrying doesn't get anything done. When in doubt, repeat the mantra..." Demetri inhaled deeply, then exhaled, and began to mumble to himself, "To protect the world from devastation...to unite all peoples within our nation...to denounce the evils of truth and love...and to extend our reach to the stars above..."
The elevator slowed to a halt, releasing a PING noise as he arrived on the appropriate floor. He continued to repeat his mantra under his breath as he exited the lift, walking with as sure a stride as he could muster. "Team Rocket...blast off at the speed of light..." Even under his breath, the words called to mind the bold image he had in his mind of the people who had gotten him started. It helped calm him, if only slightly. "Surrender now...or prepare to fight..."
He entered the arena sector, his hands clenched to keep them from shaking. Yet on his face was not an expression of fear, nor one of false confidence. His face was steadfast, and his eyes reflected nothing but determination. Regardless of the outcome of this battle, he had been a member of Team Rocket for close to a decade. And even if he was struck down, he would always be a Rocket at heart. No one - trainer, officer of the law, or new boss - would change that.

Violet sat in a chair at the other side of the arena. She watched the Grunt-in-question finally arrive. She sighed, her heels clicking on the floor as she uncrossed her legs and rose to her feet. With one fist on her hip, she walked to her position in the arena. She wasn't planning on beating him to a pulp, after-all, pitting the boy against her strongest Pokemon would be more like homicide than an evaluation test. Of course, that didn't mean she planned on taking it too easy on him.
Another Grunt quickly ran into the arena, taking his spot as referee of the match.
"Zis vill be a 2-on-2 battle. Since zis is Team Rocket, joo'r Pokemon must also be able to vork as a team." She tapped her finger on her chin lightly, trying to decide how many Pokemon they should both use. She had been particularly bored, might as well draw it out while she can. "6 Pokemon each." She quirked a thin eyebrow at him. "Joo do have 6 Pokemon, yes?" she smirked, then grabbed two pokeballs and tossed them out. "Tink, Felony, Let's go."
In a double flash or red light, a Shiny Clefairy and a Skarmory appeared. The cute little green-tipped fairy Pokemon dances joyously as she appeared, bouncing slowly as if the laws of gravity did not apply to her.
"SKAAAARRR!!" squawked the steel bird Pokemon, extending his wings and rearing his head back to call towards the roof, it's metallic cry echoing throughout the room. It then glared at the boy, tucking it's wings in and awaited it's challenge.

"M-Master, look. Misss Mahalovich gave that grunt quite a ssscare, it looks like, yess?" The curious Cacturne brought a thorn-tipped hand gently to his face, the other one placed carefully on his trainer's shoulder, as to not p***k her. He hissed slightly, his voice sounding very similarly to a certain creature in a fantasy book, where its humanity was taken away from it the moment it came into contact with a very special ring. "Master, let's go ssee. I wanna ssee what'll happen, yess..." The Cacturne's trainer, a girl with looks of a young teen, but with the age of around 20, seemed to completely ignore her Pokemon, as if he had never spoken. She did this often, as she did not speak as much. In fact, she barely spoke at all.
The trainer looked vacantly ahead out of her one good eye, the other covered by a black eye patch, as the grunt her Cacturne was talking about walk by, mumbling to himself. He seemed scared. Terrified, even. But she thought nothing of it. She thought nothing of most things, which is part of the reason why she was allowed as an administrator in the infamous Team Rocket. As an admin, she was given better treatment compared to that of the grunts, which she could care less about. Pulling her access card out of her black sweater's pocket, the trainer stared blankly at it. Nue Tourette, Team Rocket Admin, it read. She blinked, then pushed it back into her pocket.
After choosing to follow the grunt without much thought, Nue glanced back at her Cacturne. She had a little trouble seeing, as her automatic rifle hanging from her shoulder was blocking the way. Crow, the Cacturne's name was. The only talking Pokemon on her team. Not to say that every team should have a talking Pokemon. Crow was...different. She had found him as a Cacnea, half-buried beneath the sand of Olivine City's beach, and decided to take him in. He had knew how to speak English ever since she found him, but Nue taught him to cut back a little.
Now, as she followed the grunt into the arena, Nue turned abruptly to take the nearest seat, almost causing Crow to run into the grunt. With a grunt, Crow --with difficulty-- found a comfortable sitting position beside his trainer, almost bouncing out of his seat with excitement. "Good luck, Mister! You'll need it, yess?" Crow teased the grunt with a giggle.

If you aren't going to be civil about this ... ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Demetri stood on the opposite end, facing the boss and her Pokemon, as he rotated his neck, cracking it in several places. "Any member of Rocket worth their salt knows how to operate their team, not only as individuals, but also as a unit." he said, reciting one of the lessons he'd taught himself early in his time with the group. With a simple sliding motion, he maneuvered two pokeballs from his belt, allowing them to slide seamlessly around his arms. This was classic misdirection - put on a very brief show while he took a few moments to strategize. Never rush, but never hesitate - always operate at a healthy medium. He brought both pokeballs up into one hand, and glared as he rotated them in circles around each other within his palm. Both were Dusk Balls, and he was confident that they would perform adequately. "There is no Rocket without Team." He grinned slyly, and popped one pokeball to his other hand, holding them both out. "And so it begins. Tarja! Blythe!"
From the bursts of light, a mighty "Ex...PLOUD!" echoed through the arena. The Loud Noise Pokemon stood boldly before his opponents, joined by a silent Chandelure, who simply bobbed up and down in the spot it was summoned, the fires around her flaring up as her eyes narrowed. Demetri nodded - this would either make or break his career. Either way, he still had one ace up his sleeve; the island to the north. If things went bad, he could go to explore there, and return with whatever he found, to be used as a bartering chip. Even so, he hoped things wouldn't go bad. "Now then..." he said under his breath, "...time to make Jessie and James proud..."

Violet smirked as she listened to him speak. "Zere iz no Rocket vizout Team, hn? I like zat." She gave him a short smile and then looked over the battlefield.
Without even a command, Felony began to shake. This was Autotomize. She reduced her weight and, thus, increased her speed by 2 stages. Tink jumped on the back of the metal bird and twirled around like a ballerina. When she stopped, she was a great deal smaller! She had used minimize.
"SKAAAARR!" Felony stretched her wings out and, with a mighty flap of her wings, the two soared into the air, flying around the arena with great speed.
Now it was the Grunt's turn.

If you aren't going to be civil about this ... ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Demetri watched the pair soaring around the arena overhead, brow furrowed as he did his best to analyze their movement. The Skarmory had become frighteningly quick, and the Clefairy was about the size of a toy now. He knew he was right to expect this battle to be more than average - no direct attacks just yet. Chances were she would wait to get a better appraisal of his skills. He motioned to the pair, smirking. "Blythe, Tarja! Backpack, then get ready for warm-ups!" he called to them. The pair turned, and nodded to him, grinning. The two positioned themselves back-to-back, and the Chandelure lengthened its coiled extremities, wrapping them around the Exploud's shoulders. The pair now stood, watching the flying duo carefully. Blythe's was taking slow, methodic breaths, while Tarja's flames were somewhat dimmer than normal. At the moment, their focus seemed to be simply to draw a beat on their foes before making any hasty attack. However, Demetri already had a handful of plans for what would come next. No need to rush...analyze as best as possible, then test the waters. Demetri grinned, having begun contact juggling the empty pokeballs, more out of habit than anything. No sense in waiting any longer..."Pump it up, guys! Let 'em burn!"With a sudden shift, the Chandelure twisted around and hopped atop Exploud's back, glowing bright orange. It released a wave of Inferno, while with a deep inhale, Blythe let out a powerful Echoed Voice, the two attacks rippling through the air side-by-side. Demetri wasn't expecting much in the way of successful hits - all he hoped for was to get a better appraisal, as well.

Felony spun to the side, easily avoiding the dual attack. With Inferno's low accuracy the fire didn't even touch them. But the Echoed Voice did. With it's low attack, it merely gave the bird a headache, where as Tink missed it all together with her evasion increase. All in all, though, it was a rather impressive combo. Aesthetically pleasing, if anything. But this wasn't a contest battle. This next combo was a bit risky, and would definitely handicap her team, but she decided to do it anyway. It would make things interesting. "Sky Drop." She commanded. The airborne Skarmory swooped down and, with it's 100% accuracy, grabbed the Exploud in it's metal talons and hoisted it up into the air, taking the backpacking Chandelure along with it. "Metronome... just for fun."Tink began to wag her fingers, looking straight at the Chandelure backpack. Her fingers began to glow and.... (Random number 1-559. I am using this list to determine which move she used, and will add the rest of my post later once a move has been decided.) Violet couldn't help but laugh as it suddenly got brighter and hotter in here. It was almost as if there was a mini-sun in the room. Metronome had selected Sunny Day... of all moves... Sunny Day. Too funny. Now she had SEVERELY handicapped herself... but rather than be nervous, she found it to be amusing.

If you aren't going to be civil about this ... ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Demetri sighed with relief. He'd had bad experiences with Metronome before, so the outcome of that had greatly concerned him. But a little extra sunlight was nothing he couldn't handle. However, they were in something of a risky position now; Sky Drop wasn't the most feared move in the repertoire of Flying moves, but it wasn't too shabby, and it left Exploud immobile until he was released. He knew Inferno was too risky, as well - at such close range, everyone was likely to be left with a severe burn, even Blythe. At the moment, though, Demetri's biggest concern was the Clefairy. Any minute now, another Metronome could pop out with a Draco Meteor, or a Perish Song, or something horrible...but at the moment, there was little could be done.
"Alright, Tarja! Let's make that Skarmory's life a little darker, shall we? And Blythe, you just do your best to hold in there!" He smirked as the Chandelure began to tremble in place, and a small aura in her shape drifted away from her, floating over to the metal bird. It's risky, but it's just about the only option open to me. When Blythe gets free, I can have them switch up their tactics... He watched on carefully, knowing the next series of moves would need to be judged perfectly. This burst of sunlight may be able to help out, if only just a little. ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Metronome was the least of their worries. Tink was a nasty little bugger, her cuteness was only a ruse.
With Skarmory cursed, they all knew they had to work quicker. Luckily for Felony, she was skilled at working fast.
In an instant, she threw the two opponents toward the floor, using the momentum to quickly flip around, digging her metal talons into the ceiling.
Tink jumped as the bird turned, landing on the bird Pokemons stomach and sliding down to it's nose, just in time for her next attack.
She threw her hands down and suddenly, the gravity in the room intensified, causing the two falling Pokemon to pick up speed and slam into the ground with immense power.
For the humans, it would be a bit difficult to stand, but Violet was used to the sudden change in gravity, as were Felony and Tink, who were now standing on the ceiling, seemingly defying gravity.

If you aren't going to be civil about this ... ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════ Demetri felt the increase of weight as the Clefairy used Gravity, almost falling to one knee, but able to withstand it. He watched as his two Pokemon dropped to the ground, but he knew Blythe would make the right choice. After all the drills they'd run through in the past, he'd have been sorely disappointed if the Exploud had allowed both to suffer from that attack. And sure enough, Blythe had managed to shift Tarja to a safer position, taking the full damage of the fall himself. With a little help from the Chandelure, he rose back to his feet, brushing himself off. They were both wincing, somewhat hurt from the event, but both still going strong. Demetri's bold, charismatic smile was back, and he pointed dramatically at the pair now attached to the ceiling, both of his Pokemon turning up and grinning at their opponents.
"And now, bombardment!" Demetri commanded. If he could keep up a decent barrage, Skarmory's type resistance wouldn't matter terribly. And despite Clefairy's evasion, statistically speaking, something had to hit her at some point. Blythe opened his mouth wide, unleashing a second Echoed Voice (his only ranged attack), while the increased sunlight made it possible for Tarja to launch a Solarbeam almost instantly. Yet again, the two attacks flew side-by-side, careening up towards the Fairy and Iron Bird Pokemon. Demetri had to admit, this new boss certainly was cunning - he'd worked out possible scenarios for two-way or three-way battles in the past, but her Pokemon's skills flowed together so seamlessly. If nothing else, he'd already learned that much from her. And there was still more to be done. ════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════════

Skarmory detached her claws, extending her wings out and using the gravity to her advantage as she careened to the sight and into the Solar beam, preferring that over the noise that exploded from the Explouds mouth. With his resistance to Grass moves combined with Tink's Friend Guard Ability, the attack did little to nothing at all. Felony's wings began to glow a bright white color and at the last moment, Tink jumped off as the Skarmory slammed it's wings into the Exploud. This was Steel Wing. And with the increased Gravity and the angle she had come from, the attack would be devastating. Tink landed on the ground, wiggling her fingers again. They soon began to glow and suddenly.... ((Random number 1-559. I am using this list to determine which move she used, and will add the rest of my post later once a move has been decided.)) Tink lunged forward, her fist surrounded by a slipstream as she thrusted it forward at the Exploud. Dynamic Punch! With the Explouds only weakness being Fighting, this was sure a stroke of luck... Violet watched to see if it hit.
