Yako strolls around the woods on the little floating island she roosts on. She had recently found two young boys here so she wanted to make sure no one else was wandering the dark paths. There's a small house along the path where her caretaker stays sometimes but she's not at home right now. She winds around the island once and starts the way back to the big white tree at it's center.

Auryn clambered up the side of a large thick barked tree. His claws were just the right length to penetrate and hold a good grip. Climbing was one of his favorite things to do aside flying. It brought him to great heights before he could leap off and take to the skies. In most cases. His feathers bristled at the thought of his first attempt to fly.
Once at the top most branch large enough to support his weight he looked out over the rising sun. A splendid sight that seemed so different every day, never loosing it's splendor.
He let out a breath and perked up his ears. Normally he had a good habit of avoiding any other life form on this island, whether it be his quick movements or natural ability to blend it. Today, however, was a different case. He looked back down the way he scaled, his eyes shifting back and fourth gather what he could see from the ground below between the thick coverage of the trees. No, perhaps it was up? His ears had never been so tricked before! He looked up toward the sky and made a soft cooing sound. His head quickly looked from left to right. It was obvious there was something else present... a familiar smell, one of his own kind? It had to be, there was no doubt.

Yako's ears perked up. Was there something in the trees? She peered up there trunks trying to see what had made the sound. "Hello?"

Auryn's ear's twitched at the soft 'hello'. Immediately he looked down toward the source. His neck craned to get a better view. The trees made it nearly impossible to make out any detail other than the dominating color on the being below.
"Hullo!?" He called back. A strange greeting he had picked up from only the great ones know where. It seemed fitting enough, if not a little awkward.
His tail wrapped around what it could of the limb as he leaned forward, deciding whether or not to climb down and have more of a face to face conversation. It didn't smell like a threat... in fact it smelled and had the voice of a female.
"begging your pardon, but you're not a predator that smalls and sounds like a she are you?" He felt it best to be safe and ask.

"A predator??" she called back as she thought what an odd question, " As a dragon I do expect to eat some meat but I'm not hungry.. if you were offering to share that is.." she paused and stepped up on to the roots of the tree. " and as far as if I'm girl. You'll just have to come down and see."

"Even dragons have enemies..." Auryn called out in defense of his 'silly' question. "I've heard of Dragons going against dragons."
As for her second claim. He stuck his nose to the air and sniffed. That was definitely the smell of a female. Oh thank the spirit who blessed the dragon's nose.
With his ears still perked forward be begun his vertical decent of the tree, nose first. His wings hugged tight to his body as he maneuvered around and sometimes atop the thick branches. When he finally saw the other dragon he paused and stretched out over a large branch. He kept his vulnerable spots as best protected by the branch as possible. In case she were not quite as friendly as she sounded.
"Did you get a name?" He asked unaware of any formalities with a female.

"Yes, My name is Yako" She smiled. "Do you have a name, hom?" She watched him shimmy down the tree. She wondered if fright was warranted. Maybe he was almost eaten as a child or something.

Auryn was quiet a moment as he thought the name over. Nope. Wasn't anything familiar.
"Auryn, that's what I got." He spoke back with a little more confidence. "Or I guess you can almost pronounce it 'AuRyn'. But not officially yet as I don't have my full tail feathers yet."
Auryn sniffed the air again to be sure it was still friendly. When he was again positive of his company he continued the rest of the way down the tree and took a seat in between two of it's larger protruding roots.
He cocked his head this way and that at his new acquaintance. Something his father had taught him before, always be sure of who you are in the presence of.
"Hmn, you have horns." He spoke after a moment of silence.

" Au-Ryn." She repeated back and sat down on the root that she was propped up on and looked down at him.
"Yeah, I know it's a little strange but I think they are cute." She shifted her hair with her claws. "So what are doing on the island?" She tried to make some mall talk with him.

Auryn felt his wings bristle as she pronounced his name as if he were a wise elder. At least, that was according to his parents. Even though he had yet to sprout his tail 'tuff'. Unknowing to him his head raised a little higher and his chest puffed out ever so slightly.
"No, not bad at all." He added after a moment of mentally rolling in his self glory. "Just never seen one with horns."
He paused a moment to look back up the tree had had just been in than the surrounding area. "I always come here." Auryn spoke as his focus returned to Yako. "No one owns it." He added defensively. "I would ask the same, but I think I'll get the same answer." His head tilted to the side, somewhat hopeful of a different answer, perhaps one leading to an adventure. Oh how he wished for some excitement. Perhaps, if she was not, he could make something up.

Yako grinned. "hey, it's okay, just making some talk. I live here and I've never seen you before... that's all." She paused.
"Have you ever visited any of the other islands? There's an old shop on another Island and there's this big blue bouncy bubble thing floating around somewhere out around here. Have you been?"
She jumped down from her perch and tried to signal to him to walk with her.

Auryn shook his head. "I keep to myself. Also I am an excellent hunter myself, so that means I'm good at hiding. Which is why you've not seen me."
He held his head higher still basking in his own self glory for a moment. That is before her next inquire. A floating blue orb? Sounded strange, certainly nothing he had ever seen before. It also sounded as if there were an adventure afoot.
"I've-" He paused a second, opting not to relay where he has and has not been. "-I've seen placed, but honestly, I've never seen a floating bubble..."

"Oh? I guess that would be so." There was plenty to eat on this little green island. Even now there is birds singing and small things moving around in the distance. There's even a little pong sometimes...well when it rains enough, nothing lives there obviously.
"I used to go when I was younger. I would wait until night so I'd have it aaaalllll to myself......oh but of course I'll share with you! since you've never been and all." At this point she had turned all the way around to face him and was beginning to walk backwards.

Auryn tilted his head at her words. It seemed the normal for a dragon to be greedy, he couldn't claim otherwise himself. But something about hearing another dragon claim something all to her own made him want to see this 'magical' object more. He righted his head than gave a nod.
"Well, than let's see it before anyone else can crowd around it and we don't get to." He spoke a little demanding. It was also the hint that there may be more people that pricked at his greedy little dragon heart. He was even distracted enough to not notice her walking backwards and he followed as if nothing were abnormal.

Yako turned around in a flash, swinging her long tail towards Auryn, and picked up her pace towards the edge of the floating land. She skipped and jumped over the stray roots that snaked their way into the path.
After only a few moments they were close to the edge. Yako ran up to the ledge and thrust herself off from it's edge.
