1d10 for no listed seer parent, 10 is a seer.
1d10 for one listed seer parent, 1 & 10 is a seer. Seers may have visions of the past, the present, or the future. Individual Seers may only See in one of these timeframes ... they can't have visions set in all three. You can choose the timeframe!
These visions are always triggered by the same thing, which is different for every seer - something as specific as the smell of rain, or something as general as touching someone else. Seers CANNOT trigger their visions on purpose. While visions always have the same trigger, they do not occur every single time a seer encounters the trigger. You can choose the trigger!
Seers are born, not made. Every creature born will have a small chance of being a Seer. The offspring of Seers have a slightly higher chance of being Seers themselves. Having Seer relatives other than parents (grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc) does not increase the chance to be a Seer.

1d20 for shaman roll, 20 is a shaman. Characters can be born with the potential to be a Shaman (this will be rolled) or they can train to be a Shaman. This is option only open to heavily RPed characters.
Shamans have the power to encourage natural events to happen. They can call rain during a drought, influence herds to migrate in their direction, urge dark clouds away to let the sun shine ... anything that might happen naturally.
A Shaman's powers are not godlike. They cannot end the winter, cause earthquakes or anything so extreme. It usually takes days for a Shaman's ritual to take effect.
Most Shamans use rituals or meditation to help focus their energies. Whatever method a Shaman chooses to use is individual, there are no requirements. They may dance, chant, sing, burn herbs, whatever helps them focus.
Using their powers is exhausting. A Shaman cannot use their powers very often.
Even though a Shaman's powers are usually limited, you CAN use them in epic plots if you want to. Be aware that if a Shaman's ritual is instant or devastating in consequence (say a Shaman summons down a lightning bolt to kill a terrible enemy, or a flash flood to wash away invaders) then the effort involved will kill the Shaman. There are no exceptions to this. They will be dead. If you want to use your Shaman for a plot like this, you will have to let us know beforehand. shaman training Anyone can train to be a shaman! To start with, you need 10 completed RPs on any subject (they can be SRPs of 800 words+, or RPs with another character where both characters have at least posts each).
Once you have 10 RPs, fill out the form below and post it in the thread notifying everyone of your intent to train. If you need a shaman to mentor you, please say so! smile
Once you have posted your completed RPs, you will need three more RPs to become a shaman:
XXXXX#1: An RP with your shaman mentor, either asking to become an apprentice or as an apprentice.
XXXXX#2: An RP as a shaman, either close to completing your training or having just 'graduated'. This can be an SRP or with your mentor.
XXXXX#3: An RP as a newbie shaman in the real world where you use your powers or are asked to use them. This should be with another character.Once you've finished those post 'em here and you will be added to the list! And feel free to take on any aspiring shaman students if you feel called to. smile

If rolled as seer, trigger & timeframe? Future timeframe (only sees weather and migratory patterns of prey animals). She is triggered by finding a carcass (be it from a predatory kill and feeding, one who died of the elements, sometimes an older pile of bones - but it can't be one she was aware was there).
