Adia stood outside in her front yard of her new home. She and her partner Angela had just moved into the home only days ago and the next day they would be starting their new job in their new town. She was extremely excited to start her job because she and her partner were police force and they would both be starting their jobs as transfered police officers tomorrow.
However for the day Adia was enjoying her day outside in her new front yard. She wasn't quite sure what she would find or who she would meet. Her boundaries were her yard and there was no fence to keep anyone else out she was just trained well by her owner.
She was watching all who passed carefully but no others dared to stare her down. Her at attention pose and hard stare was slightly intimidating to those who had passed so far. A deep sigh escaped her maw after a little bit and she relaxed her pose into a sit but continued to watch the road and all who passed on it.

Mmm. The day outside was beautiful and sunny, and Santos was itching to get out. First he had to eat, of course. Garret never let him out before he had eaten breakfast. Quickly, he scarfed down the kibble, hardly chewing, and then sat back, staring up at his human expectantly.
It happened like this every morning. Santos got up excitedly, ready to get out and get moving in the morning. Garret rolled out of bed, level-headed and stuck in his routine. The human brushed his teeth - Santos watched - then he made coffee - Santos watched - then he made a bagel - Santos watched - and then he fed Santos and sat down to eat. Once Santos was done he'd sit patiently until the front door was opened for him.
The time came, and he bounded out onto the porch, his huge Great Dane stride covering the distance in just a few steps. The grass was green, the air was warm, and... something smelled wrong. There was something different about the neighborhood today. Scents that were out of place in the peace that was his usual morning. He stepped off the porch cautiously, ears perked and alert, ready for anything. As soon as there weren't wooden planks in his way, he noticed the missing sign from the house next door, and a lovely doberman sitting guard.
She was new. "Hello!" He called.

Adia's ear flicked to the side at the sound of a pleasant voice. The voice was coming from more from beside her than in front and as she slowly turned her head to gaze at the caller she knew why. The voice had come from a very handsome great dane just in front of the porch of the house next door. She had been outside since shortly after the sun had risen and no one had spoken to her at all. Hearing the dane's greeting surprised her a bit but she would not take the kind greeting and not greet him back.
Slowly she stood up and turned her whole body toward the male. Once her whole body was facing him her eyes brightened and her nub of a tail began to wag quickly. "Good morning kind sir!" She replied to him as she walked over to the boundary of her yard to speak more to him. "My name is Adia. My owner and I have just moved into this town. I take it perhaps that you are a neighbor of ours?" She asked pleasantly.
Adia had no problem being pleasant to a fellow dog as long as the dog was being pleasant to her. She enjoyed having friends and dog companions to speak with. She would be very pleased to have the neighbor as a good friend if he wished to be her friend as well.

Santos quickly cleared the stairs in one step and trotted to the border of their yards. It would be nice to have a new neighbor! He couldn't remember how long that house had been empty. It was even better that their new neighbors included a lovely doberman.
He nodded at her questioning. "Yeah, I live here with my partner. My name's Santos." He shook his chest a little so his badge jingled. "I'm one of the lead police dogs in Summerwood. The station is in the city." He loved going to the station. There were always new puppies about ready to be trained, and plenty of seasoned dogs to help show them the ropes. It was an atmosphere that he greatly enjoyed being in.

Adia's ears perked and excitement brightened her face as Santos spoke of being a police dog and one of the leads at that. She hadn't expected to live right next door to one of her new bosses but it was a helpful start. She could be on friendly terms with a member of the force before even her first day and perhaps make friends within the force easier by meeting the other dogs he knew.
"Oh really?! What a pleasant suprise this has become. My partner and I are going to be transfering to work at the station in summerwood in just a few days." Adia told him very happily. She was pleased to have Santos today and very happy that he was so handsome and to be her boss too. She'd have someone cute to look at if she ever had to be reprimanded.
