Does anyone watch the new sci-fi/comedy series Hyperdrive on BBC? I tuned in because the review in a magazine said '...this is a good substitute to replace the void left by the lamented Red Dwarf, which no series has come close to replacing...'
So, I checked it out.
It's not bad. It has its moments. But in my honest opinion, it's sure as hell no Red Dwarf. Red Dwarf was much, MUCH funnier.
Hyperdrive. Discuss! 3nodding

In fact, not just sucks, but sucks MAJOR balls. I just do not LAUGH while watching it. Trust me - you're not missing anything.

I saw the last few eppisodes, and I quite liked it. I mean, it could've been alot better, but it was alright. Could've done with a bit of a bigger buget and better writing, but the characters were good, and the story lines as random as you could wish for. I felt it was slightly aquard, in that it was trying to be too similar to Red Dwarf, whilst trying to be completely diffrent at the same time.

Well, each to his own as they say. wink I guess it does appeal to some people - I just don't find it all that funny. I just felt the random storylines were just a bit too random for my liking... sweatdrop That's how I felt - it was trying to hard to be Red Dwarf, which it most certainly is not.

I'd like to see where it is in a series or too would be interesting. Often these things get better after they've had a chance for the actors to establish themselves in the roles, and the scriptsto mature a bit. I didn't find it very funny, just slightly, you know, something to watch before you go to sleep.

That's how I felt about it too - something to watch when nothing else was on and you had half an hour or so to kill before bed.
