The old wolf was content. His old pack lands where now thriving, a year had passed since he had returned to these lands and called it home once again and it was over the past year he'd founded his pack, nurtured the growth of the wolves which now also called it home and fell fatefully in love once again with Macha. He was surrounded by other like minded wolves whom respected the environment, hunted with respected and cherish the close bond of pack life but now Haku had been presented with something more, the question was did he welcome the change it would bring and would it be beneficial to the pack. He'd not yet spoken to Macha about his thoughts on the matter however as much as he loved Macha he wanted someone whom was a little less hot headed and would look at this with a great deal of reason and logic. It was because of that he was headed to his friends den, the Beta female Bryna.

Bryna shared her den with her mate Triton, he respected the Hunting Trainer and knew at present he had his work cut out for him with the great influx of pups within the pack to train up so they were able to take part in the large pack hunts. He hoped however Bryna would be alone so they could talk about the beliefs Failbhe and his family had brought down from the mountains with them. A great deal of fundamental belief made sense to him, the spiritual aspects however he found harder to embrace and he wondered if introducing these aspects of life to the pack would shatter it to two fractions or they would all be able to respect each others degrees of spiritual belief. The question of belief never really being raised before now but he wondered, members of his pack and a singular wolf in general may already belief in something spiritual, would this be such a large step to formalise those thoughts.

He took a few more steps, his mist like enshrouded paws placed decidedly upon the earth outside of the Beta's den he called out to her, 'Bryna, it's Haku, are you free for a time, I need to discuss something with you.' Haku was not a overbearing alpha, he ruled through the mutual respect he'd earnt with his pack members, this request was no different, he didn't demand Bryna's time however he did expect her compliance and his voice indicated this.

Bryna's ears perked up at the sound of paws approaching her den. She had just sent the last of her children off after their father to let him a hand watching the younger pups during training. She hadn't a clue where Boreas had gone. He'd been wandering off on his own more and more lately. She would have to sit him down for a talk soon if this kept up.

Unfortunately, The wind was blowing away from her den, so Bryna's only clue as to who her visitor was was when Haku's form came into view and he called out to her. She raised herself from the floor and trotted to the front of the den, head and tail held as high as befitted a Beta-- or, specifically, Bryna in general. She wasn't one who could be taken for Gamma.

"I always have time for my Alpha." She smiled at him. Of course she'd seen him once since he had returned, but she hadn't had the opportunity to speak with him yet. He'd understandably wanted to see his mate, learn of the changes in the pack during his absence from her, and settle back into his territory after his time away. Bryna was still unsure why he couldn't have sent someone else, but she wasn't going to question him. It wasn't her place and she and Macha had handled things in his absence. The loss of HanGeng had been unfortunate, he had been a steady ally, but the females managed it just fine. It also gave Bryna a better perspective on Macha's ability to lead and she had come out of the experience liking the other Alpha much better, despite all of her youth.

"Have you had time to see all of the pack?" She asked directly. "Macha did well in your absence."

((Just for the record, I agree it'd make sense for Haku to have travelled else where for a bit, hense the lack of RL RP, where he went however I shall figure out later as I don't really know IC wise at the moment where he could of gone.))

Haku watched as Bryna came forth out of her den and shook his head slightly in mock sorrow, 'Bryna shall I consistently refer to you as 'my Beta', hm? I may be your alpha but I have a name and I'd rather you use it then keep such a formal barrier using a title of address seems to create.' True Haku commanded respect but Bryna seemed to take it to a whole new level and Haku rather encourage his fellow pack mates to treat him more as a fellow than a lofty creature whom governed them all. He drew her away from the den with his eyes, keeping them on her as his body twisted and he began to walk away encouraging her to join him in a steady, leisurely walk.

'I've seen most of the pack, not everyone but enough to know what's been happening in my absence and I am glad to have returned in time to greet our new members from the North.' He stood a good deal taller than Bryna, the female wasn't petite however Haku had always been large in stature and he had to twist his head slightly to look down at her, catching her eye to try and read her emotions as he mentioned Failbhe and Pyrefly. In regards to her comment on Macha he smiled simply, turning his gaze away from Bryna and staring in front of him and the path he was taking ahead of them.

There pups were fully grown now and in fact two of his daughters already seemed to be courted by males, Falathiel's suitor seemed a little slow at first however the large male had a heart of gold and Falathiel would bring the best out in him. Cernunnos seemed equally as deserving of Aduial and seemed to be making her happy in a manner which she demanded of most males which craved her company. Cuccu however seemed to be so focused on study and learning every discipline that he perceived as a sort of requirement from the son of an alpha that he made little time for personal time, that sadden Haku a little yet he also admired Cuccu for his dedication though he knew a meeting with his son would be needed to teach him he needed balance. All in all he was content and Macha was as youthful as all his pups put together and gave him reason to smile on a daily basis, she kept him young and gave light to his once troubled soul.

'I am glad to hear that, even more so to hear the approval in your voice.' He didn't doubt Bryna had once had doubts about taking Macha as a mate, she was so young after all. 'Thank you for all your support though Bryna is does mean a lot to me, I am blessed that you and Triton came to me over a year ago now. But I presume you've guessed why I want to speak to you at present, your always so direct and I want your honest opinion and I trust you, as I always have, not to hold back. What are your views on what Failbhe is presenting?'

Bryna had never been one to dissemble. She spoke her mind, it was part of what made her a good Beta and one of the few wolves others could count on to be honest with them. She considered it a positive quality, even when others didn't.

"I think it's ridiculous," she said plainly. Let him get mad if he wanted. He'd asked her for her opinion, and he wanted a truthful answer. She respected him enough to give him one. "Draug has always been a pack about family, and we've never had to look outside of ourselves for anything other than new members. We've been strong, healthy, and happy, even in your absence. The beliefs of one wolf will now change that? Put it at risk for the beliefs only he holds?"

She paused to reorder her thoughts, but her expression was open, her gaze frank. "He thinks there are living spirits in the trees, Haku. He thinks they alter our lives. I've never seen any evidence of that before. Had he not come, we wouldn't even have considered it. It's a fantasy idea he's presenting, one he can't prove. I don't feel comfortable that a new member should begin changing things the moment he's accepted into our pack, before he's even had time to settle in his den, and do it on such a grand scale as to effect the entire pack with it." 'Infect' would be a better term, but as far as Bryna knew, that hadn't happened yet. The idea had been presented, but it hadn't been accepted. As far as she knew. If Haku was asking her for her opinion, then perhaps it meant that the votes of the pack would mean something to him and they could prevent the upheaval that Bryna felt, with great discomfort, was coming.

"I feel as if we're rushing onward in a direction we haven't really thought about. One that's going to change the pack completely." She frowned and looked out at what she could see of the pack's lands. "I'm not sure that's going to be for the better."
