There weren't many guardsmen who could say they'd descended from, well, other guardsmen. Hakam was one. The guard Audra was another - they were more acquaintances than friends (they knew each other because Prophylaxis wasn't a large piece of land, but they weren't particularly friendly, more due to lack of opportunities for socializing than anything else), but they'd entered the guard officially around the same time. She'd gained a bit of a reputation as a fiercely skilled guard already, and Hakam wasn't sure what to think of that. All in all, though, he knew she was from a Prophylaxis family and he knew that meant she was worth talking to.
So he'd approached her today after both their shifts had ended.
Well, that was a lie. He hadn't approached her yet, but he was about to. See? He was heading toward that distinctive shock of long purple hair. "Audra!" he called, hoping she was cognizant at least of who exactly he was. "How was your shift today?"

 Ugh. I finally got past that blasted guard, thought Rosencrantz. He dusted off his cloak, which lead to a few specks flying into the air, and sighed out in exhaustion. Honestly, I've heard of the tales of the Guards back home, and their stringent reputations, but I never knew it was to that extent. It took me awhile, but I managed to convince him to let me in. Rosencrantz continued to wander around, trying to familiarize himself with the area. Why am I even here? What purpose do I have? Gather intelligence? And what if they find out I'm a Hong soldier? Like this stick is going to help me at all. Rosencrantz stared at his staff in disgust. Where did I even get this thing? And why are its leaves blue? Rosencrantz's temper began rising, annoyed at the situation he was in. However, that soon dispersed as he became almost mesmerized by the surrounding foliage. I'll need a place to stay though. He pauses for a minute, then slightly looks around. I don't suppose there are any caves around here? However, Rosencrantz shook his head morosely. No, I shouldn't. If I want to live among the Prophylaxis people and gain information about their culture, I'll have to act like a normal human being. I guess I'll have to find an inn, he contemplated in bitterness. Slowly, but surely, Rosencrantz began walking towards town.

It was the end of her shift and Audra was a bit disappointed that she hadn't had a chance to fight this time. Oh well. She could relax and get something nice to eat now. Rations weren't the best food, exactly. But it was food and kept you alive. It was as she was heading home for a nice hot meal that she heard someone call her name.
The girl paused, turning to look and see who was talking to her. A puzzled look crossed her face momentarily before she smiled. "Hakam, isn't it?" She'd heard of him of course. And had even seen him from a distance during their guard training.
"Rather boring today. No one tried to cross the border," she stated. "Any action on your part?"
