Big news! Bigbigbigbig news!

I don't know if anyone knows yet (I just found out myself), but James Patterson wrote ANOTHER book back in 2000 that actually kick-started the Maximum Ride saga.

It's called When the Wind Blows and is based when Max was only eleven. The discovery of the school, the conspiracies, everything! Written from the point of view of a veterinarian and a detective living in a town full of disappearances and deaths gone unaccounted.

In one of the Maximum Ride books, at the beggining, James Patterson wrote that that was NOT where he got Maximum Ride from. He also said the places/people in the book don't have to do with it either. It was just a coincidence I suppose :/ I'd give you the actually thing he says but I don't have the book with me sweatdrop

Id read that it didnt come from it either, but it did same that some of the concept and characters came from when the wind blows. So it is likely that this was part of the insperation for the maximum ride series. ill try and see if i can find the book with the message in the front and ill post it here when i do

I actually found the part where he tlks bout it. It says, and i quote:
"The idea for the Maximum Ride series comes from earlier books of mine called When the Wind Blows and The Lake House, which also feature a character named Max who escapes from a quite desicable School. Most of the similarities end there. Max and the other kids in the Maximum Ride books are not the same Max and kids featured in those two books. Nor do Frannie and Kit play any part in the series. I hope you enjoy the ride anyway."
