Hi, guys.
...okay. I've been staring at my laptop for about ten minutes wondering how to continue this. I've never been good at apologies or at backing down. Or at giving up. I'm stubborn and all my friends will tell you that.
Let me just say it. You win. I lose. I give up. You are undefeated. My record has been broken.
I swear, that may be the hardest thing I've ever typed on this guild.
Look, I don't know why you guys are so set against typing up some poetry. I really don't get it. Maybe I push you guys too hard. Is that it? Because I certainly didn't get any results when I tried backing off a little.
But I've given up completely now. You guys can write on your roleplays and send PMs and read fanfiction and listen to YouTube songs and keep your poetry safe and locked up inside yourself.
That's write, I said locked up inside yourself. I don't give a damn if you say you don't have anything to write. EVERYONE has something to write. You are no exception. Okay?
Good. Now that that's all cleared up...
Really, I wanna know why you guys are set against poetry. Maybe not writing it. But submitting it. Gimme one second and I bet I could write a crappy poem. Give me ten minutes and I could write you a beautiful stanza (according to my friends). But either way, it's written and what's the use of it just sitting there? It goes to waste. People relate to poetry, but how are they supposed to relate to it if it isn't out there to be read?
But that's my opinion. Really. You guys can choose to write and choose to not submit it to the Poetry subforum. It's really your choice.
It was Coral Andrews' choice to make me head of the Poetry department. She could have chosen Lykaios or Mockingjay or anyone else in this guild. But she chose me. Because she knows I'm devoted to self-expression through the written word. Words are inexhaustible sources of power. They can be used to hurt, to heal, or simply to express. That's my opinion.
You guys blew it out of the water. Either you guys have the emotional range of a teaspoon (quoting Harry Potter! I just saw the last movie, and I'm so sad it ended; ahem, back to my message) or you guys just leave poetry lying around to get blown away into a very hungry Doberman's doghouse. A Doberman fond of eating homework and can't tell the difference between a math quiz and a piece of your soul.
Don't write poetry. Sure. That's your choice. I'll leave you alone. If that's what you want. I know I'm getting complains about pressing you guys so much. So I'm done pressing. For now. I'll give you guys a break so that you can refill your emotional teaspoon again and again and freaking again. I'll give you guys time. But I expect that this subforum will not die. I hope it doesn't. Because then, what does that leave us? Poetryless. Expressionless.
