Once again Adele's "21" heads back to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart for an 11th non-consecutive week (up two slots with 77,000 according to Nielsen SoundScan; a gain of 1%).

Adele's 11 week run at the top makes it the biggest No. 1 since Taylor Swift's "Fearless" also spent 11 frames in the penthouse in late 2008 and early 2009. Since the chart began using SoundScan data in May of 1991, only eight albums have been No. 1 for 11 weeks or longer. If "21" hits a 12th week at No. 1, it will tie the runs racked up by Santana's "Supernatural" (1999) and Alanis Morissette's "Jagged Little Pill" (1995-1996).

ASlo the late Amy Winehouse returns to the top 10 with "Back to Black" at No. 9 (37,000; up 3,140%) . Death sales!

At No. 2 this week, "Kidz Bop 20" debuts with 69,000. Other debuts include: 3 Doors Down's latest album, "Time of My Life," debuts at No. 3 with 60,000, (which is really down for them!), DJ Khaled's "We the Best Forever," bowing with 53,000, and 311, with "Universal Pulse" races in at No. 7 with 46,000.

Overall album sales in this past chart week (ending July 24) totaled 5.62 million units, up 1% compared to the sum last week (5.61 million) and up 6% compared to the comparable sales week of 2010 (5.29 million). Year to date album sales stand at 172.04 million, up 1% compared to the same total at this point last year (169.71 million). It is the ninth week in a row where year-to-date album volume is greater than the same time in the prior year.
