Of course, there has to be some rules. Or else, well.. Okay, maybe I'm just a control freak. gonk
No, but seriously, everything needs some sort of guidelines if it wants to survive.
(Taken from the Guild FAQ)
No cybering Cybering, or cyber sex, offering cyber, asking about cyber and anything involved with cybering is not allowed in the guild network as it is a violation of the TOS. If there is a guild found that encourages cybering or contains cybering then it will be removed and the parties involved will be punished.
No hate guilds Hate, or anti guilds that are directed at a Gaia user, as well as guilds that are racist/defamatory are not allowed. However if there was a “We hate Harry Potter” or Anti-Coke guild, those are allowed as they are directed at a real life idea, or object.
About spam Some guilds are created for the sole reason to spam, so if you want to post spam then do it there. Spam found in any of the other guilds is not allowed and will result in it being deleted and the user warned.
About bumping Bumping serves no purpose in the guild forum. Bumping will not bring your guild to the top of the forum; it will not make your guild more visible. So don’t do it! As for bumping to bring up certain topics within the guild forum, it is up to the guild captain if they wish to make bumping acceptable or not.
As the Guild FAQ says, those are the major rules. I however, would like to add...
No Flaming Just be nice. If someone asks a question, don't call them a stupid n00b or something. Elitists, to put it bluntly, piss me off. If you think you're too good for anyone here, then by all means, please leave. As corny as it may sound, you should remember the golden rule: Do unto others, as you would have them do unto you.
No Advertising Private Servers Some users were talking about or advertising for their private servers, and I got a few PMs telling me that they didn't want that. So, to keep the peace, and because it's against Gaia rules anyway, please refrain from talking about private servers. It's okay to say you are in one, and the name of it, just so long as you aren't advertising for people to join it.
And that's all for now, I suppose. I'll add stuff as I think of it. XD

Addition as of 1/22/06!
Spelling counts! Come on now people...We all know English, so why not use it? It's not that hard to type "you". Everyone understands a few typos are the norm, but really, put effort into your posts.
As of now, you get 3 strikes. If we see any "2 (to, too)", "u (you)", 4 (for), etc...you will get a warning. After the third time, your post will be deleted.
Edit: Thank you, surila. BEST NEW RULE IDEA EVER. XD
