"The xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxGame" Introduction Men, women, kids, and adults everywhere of every size, shape, and color have been ecstatic about the game release of “Tragici Gloria” also known as “Tragic Glory”. The game is all the rage and everyone seems to want to get his or her hands on it. However, there are those that dislike the game.
The game is a new MMO (massive multiplayer online game.) It allows people from all over to connect, talk and play. It has a highly detailed character creation system. There are several classes and races that each individual can choose from to make their character unique.
Of course, it is now the time that the game has been out for several weeks. On this night a few players are about to have a gaming experience they never would expect. In fact…those who don’t even play the game can have this experience.
A worldwide blackout consumes the earth in darkness for only three seconds. It is in those three seconds that lives have changed for a few people across the globe. They might be friends they might not. But for them…the computer screen was the only thing on during the blackout, and it was the computer screen that had sucked the being into the game.
Now, whether or not they want to…they are part of the game.
Everyone wakes up to being in a tavern with only each other and a few people exiting. They have already been morphed into their character based on what the individual likes and dislikes. Their class and race is determined on personality, hobbies, likes/dislikes, and everything in between.
There’s a bartender that looks around. “Aye! Ye must be travelers. Been long time since I seen any as lively as ye all,” his voice was raspy and one eye was squinted. He continued, “I best be explainin’ the rules. Keep yer ears open. Each one of yeh has a goal, ye must accomplish the goal before ye can leave. But doncha worry, ye can’t die here. Well, ye can, but that’s what rituals er for. Take me advice…get yerselves some good quests, and make sure ye accomplish ye goals.”
The bartender turns away from the party, “State ye goal and it’s written in stone. Fail the quest and ye be stuck.”
A little box pops up in front of each person. It looks like an options screen you see on typical games, except there is no log in button. The page automatically logs to the rules and information about the world and each players home world in a nutshell. Though, the information they’ve received doesn’t mean they understand everything. The only thing anyone can be sure of is where they, they’re character, is from and their back-story.
After the players brief themselves the last page has a blank spot for them to sign, binding them to the contract of their goal. If they don’t sign then they will never have the chance to be set free.
It is time to sign. It is time to go on a great adventure.

The World of the Game and it's Peoples. Citadale- Massive city full of every race. The whole land of Citadale is full of halflings and humans. However, gnomes reside in more of the north east. Most elves reside in regions closer to Versai's borders. In short, Citadale is the melting pot.
Frandorf- Dwarfs dwell here. It is cold and in the mountains. A few gnomes can survive. If you head way south there is a possiblity you will find dark elves. Also, you cut through Dremier.
Versai- Land of elves. Versai is not only foresty, but it seems to harbor a magical vibe and some plants and wildlife seem to almost glow and sparkle inside the dark woods. The further you get into Versai the darker and thicker the woods get. You will eventially hit Seldomore. A few half elves also reside in Versai.
Granwood- Gnomes live here. This place is full of hills, forests, and mostly open land. But if you keep heading west you will reach a more desert like area. Not many peoples reside here, however humans and halfings are found in small clans.
Dremier- This place is said to be the home of the great marble dragon. Though, no one has any hardcore evidence. This land is full of mountains, magical forests and caves. It is cold in the northern areas, warmer in the middle, and then gets to be a little cooler in the south. A few elves, dwarves, and dark elves live here. Humans are also seen, as well as very few gnomes.
Oden- This is where the Orcs live. To the west is forests, to the north is mountains, to the east is caves. However, the land is mostly made up of rocky land
Selomdore- The dark elves live in Selomdore. Only a few Elves live here, but they are closer to the north. Mostly caves are in this area. It is nice and cool. Forests can be found, but again there are mostly dark caves in which these creatures dwell.
Handorous- This is a land that was mainly inhabited by humans. Halflings can be found here. This area is farther west by the sea, and more of the humans here are a little less accepting of other races. The city is between medium and small. They fish and live by the land. It is a pretty typical place. The Peoples Draguna: She is the most famous wizard in the game. She is an elf and lives in Versai, but also has a home in Citadale. She can also help wizards train.
Gillian: He is the head dwarf in Frandorf. He can help people train in forgery.
Blane: Another dwarf, he specializes in mining for materials. Lives in Frandorf.
Cedric: Is a human man that lives in Citadale. He owns the main shopette.
Minerva: Is an old necromancer. She is a gnome and can be found in Citadale. She is also the head woman in Granwood.
Mortimer: Is Minerva's nephew. He travels the lands selling goods and fixing broken items.
Phynx: Head of the Dark Elves. Recently he has tried to change the ways of the dark elves after overthrowing his mother.
Dori: She is a half elf and specializes in archery and nature. She can be found somewhere between Citadale and Versai.
Landon: Is the king in Handorous; he is human.
Ortithio: He is an Orc that dwells in Frandorf. He was cast out of his clan. Warriors can train with him.
Saxon: She is another dark elf who pledges her loyalty to Phynx. She's a traveler and can help rogues train.
Dougal: The barkeep in Citadale.

The Races Gnome: These people are about 3-3 ½ tall. They’re distant cousins are the Dwarfs. These people are better adapted in magic. They live in little huts with their families in the hills where there are forests, a possible cave or two, and plenty of space to grow food. Gnomes are friendly creatures and very outgoing. They’re one of the only races that get along with Dwarfs on a regular basis. These guys usually have a better chance of hiding and being sucessful than the other races.
Dwarf: They are distant cousins of Gnomes. They stand at 4ft and often have facial hair and are stocky. Their hair colors are often on the darke side or vibrant red. The Dwarfs live in the mountains where they can use the rock to forge metals to make weapons and armor. This race is most suited for a battling position. They mainly hunt for food. The cold temperature doesn’t bother them, for if they aren’t in the mountains then they are in the mines, mining away for more materials to forge. Dwarfs are stubborn, crotchety people. They are also famous for drinking and their drinks. This race has a higher defense.
Half Elf: Half elves are half elf and half human. They can be good at anything: magic, fighting, etc. They are often between the heights 5ft-5'11. Their personalites can range. They are a little more in tune with nature than the average human. They're ears are slightly pointed.
Human: Heights range between 4'11ft - 6ft.They are...humans...they can be skilled in any class.
Elf: These ceatures are often more skilled in magic or classes that relate with nature. They can stand between 5'4ft - 6'9ft. Most elves are usually taller than 5'6. Their skin is usually a bit on the paler side, and their hair colors are often lighter. They have a higher sense to detect unusual things relating to magic or nature.
Dark Elf: Their height range is the same as Evles. Dark evles are just like elves only they dwell in the undergrounds. They can come out during the day and walk around. They're skin is often very dark, almost black...and their hair is often white. In areas where darkness is present they can see unlike other races. These elves are often good at fighting.
Orc: These guys have a higher defense and are often good fighters. They are often taller than humans. They're skin is made of a tough material that is often hard to damage with just a simple punch or scratch. The Gods and Allignments You don't need to pay too much attention to this...Everyone in the game has an allignment and a god/deity. It's mainly meant to help with what kind of character you want. Allignments These are things such as: good, evil, neutral, neutral good, or neutral bad. Deities are paired with an alliance already to make things easier for you. Most of the Gods I list will be around the Neutral area (that way if you want to be good, but want a god that is "neutral" then it is fine.) Also, if you think of one that you would like to be your Deity that isn't listed, just let me know.
• Neutral good/Neutral bad: This means you are mostly neutral but you have tendencies to either be more good or more bad. With either of these it's easier to fall to the dark side or light side.
• Neutral: You are strictly neutral. Though, this one can also fall more to bad or good.
• Good and Evil: Self explanitory. But this does not mean that the good don't have faults and the evil don't have a heart. The Gods A god's purpose is to aid you in battle. For example if you are a cleric you need a god because you can use their holy symbol as an enhancement to heal or attack. A god can also protect you in a time of need or smite you. This can also help because your character can be part of a guild or it can relate to a clan or your history. God of Sun: neutral good Goddess of Moon: neutral good Goddess of Magic: neutral God of Death: neutral God of Evil: evil Goddess of Nature: good God of Strength: neutral good Goddess of Luck: neutral God of Trickery: neutral bad God of War: neutral bad God of Wisdom neutral Goddess of Love: neutral Goddess of Fate: neutral bad

The Log You cannot escape the game until your goal is met and you beat the final boss. You have to complete your goal...no matter what.Death in the Game:You can die up to three times and be resurected on spot by the Cleric. However, if you die a fourth time (total) you have to have your remains and use a ritual to be brought back.Sleep and Currency: • Everyone needs to either sleep or meditate. If you are of the elf species you meditate. If you are anything else you need real sleep. • Everything is paid by using gold, and silver. Gold is higher. You can trade items for gold or silver to get more. Monies are split up between the group. With your share you can buy whatever you want.God Status: There is the potential for anyone to reach diety status. It all depends on your path and the items you can possibly get. If your goal is to become a god then let me know.Dragons:Dragons of color (red, blue, black, etc.) are bad dragons that are not meant to be taken lightly. Metal dragons (silver, bronze, etc.) are dragons that are nice. However, they are very proud and dangerous creatures still. Each dragon has a certain element or elements that they use to attack with and are resistant to. (Mainly important for magic users.) Here's the list of dragons:Green: poison and acid Red: fire Blue: ice Yellow: lightning Brown: poison Black: nercrotic and shadow White: ice and nercrotic
Iron: ice Brass: lightning Bronze: fire Silver: nercrotic Gold: lightning and acid Platinum: poison and shadow Marble: UnknownOther Animals:Unicorns Griffons Hydras Bunnies Squirrels Mythical Creatures of any kind. Normal animals.

“Go go go! Oh man. We need a healer! Let’s do this!”
Blared through the speakers of a teen’s headset. Dark eyes stared at the computer screen, annoyed. Did this kid ever shut up? Seriously, this guy always insisted on being able to talk to his fellow teammates, but then just blabbered all the time when no one could really get a word in. Castel Munoz had had enough of it.
“Dude, shut up,” he shot coldly.
His teammates followed suite, “Yeah, Marcus, shut up.” “You need to calm down.” “Just play the game!”
With a few clicks here and a few clicks there Castel heard a victory cheer in his ears. Finally, they had killed the darn hydra and undead. Another quest was almost near completion in the came of “Tragic Gloria”.
The young man had the game already for a few weeks. He didn’t rush to the stores when it first came out but he had been interested in playing. Castel didn’t have too many friends especially being in Spain, so he favored playing with random people online. It was easier and he didn’t have to get attached to people. Plus, he wasn’t addicted like some nerds. It was really a win-win for him.
“Hey guys, I’m going to log off. I’ll—“ the teen’s words were cut off by a total black out. Except…his screen…it still glowed. “Guys?” Eyes glanced around his room as his hand reached for a blunt object.
The screen began to glow brighter and the hue transformed to a blue. Suddenly the Hispanic felt his body being tugged at, as if something were pulling at his skin. In a flash the only thing left inside the boy’s room was a headset on the floor.
Distant murmurs filtered through the air. Castel’s body felt heavy and his mind was disoriented. Slowly he opened his eyes, vision slowly creeping back to him. “Ah…wha?” He could hear his own breaths echo in his head. He blinked harder.
“Aye! Ye must be travelers. Been long time since I seen any as lively as ye all.”
Hardwood floors, and a wooden table were present. Castel lifted his head off the table he was sitting at. He recognized this place. In fact…he was positive this was the tavern in the game! Quickly his eyes flashed to the Dwarf bartender, Dougal. The man was speaking about something important. Actually, it was then that he noticed several other beings around him. None of them he recognized. Then it occurred to him…
Castel held out his hands and lifted the sleeves. His skin was lighter. How could that be possible? He was definitely tan. But…he was decked out in assassin gear, which only meant one logical thing: he was dreaming he was a badass rogue. Or the illogical was that he had been sucked into the game. He was down with whichever.
But now, it was time to focus.
------
“I best be explainin’ the rules. Keep yer ears open. Each one of yeh has a goal, ye must accomplish the goal before ye can leave. But doncha worry, ye can’t die here. Well, ye can, but that’s what rituals er for. Take me advice…get yerselves some good quests, and make sure ye accomplish ye goals. State ye goal and it’s written in stone. Fail the quest and ye be stuck.”
------
When the screen popped up Castel scrolled through. Everything was the same…except the goal ordeal. But finally…this was his chance. With virtual ink he signed,
‘My goal is to become a hero.’

Nadiya owned a headset, but she rarely ever spoke into it. Her eyes were glued on the screen as she heard her fellow travelers saying some things she was sure their mother would disapprove of. “Oi! Di! Are you paying attention we need you to throw up a shield or heal us!” a voice suddenly vibrated through her ears. The teen had been zoning out forgetting to pay attention to what was going on.
”Je suis desole!” she squeaked followed by the clickity-clack of some buttons. It was too late of course. Her comrades were following all around her. She was still quite new at the game, but it seemed like a place where she might be able to make a name for herself. Maybe she’d even be able to make some pen pals in other countries.
The voices started streaming through again. They were saying words now that Nadiya would never dare to repeat again. This was terrible. Shaking, she went to log off without another word to those that were online. Before she could even get her mouse over the logout button all around her house went black. The young French woman opened her mouth to scream, but nothing came as the shock of seeing her computer screen turn a bright blue before suddenly pulling her in. -------------- Wooden surface. Voices.
Was Nadiya going crazy? The people were dressed queerly. It was though she was now living “Tragic Gloria.”
That, of course, was just purely impossible. Her slender hand reached up to scratch her ears, and her grey eyes widened in shock.
Ears. Pointed ears.
What the hell was going on? Where was she?
Then she heard the bartender speak. Nadiya looked over at him in surprise. She /was/ in the game. Either that or she was having a fantastic hallucination in which Dougal the dwarf had joined her.
“Aye! Ye must be travelers. Been long time since I seen any as lively as ye all.”
After saying this simple sentence, he flew into the rules. A screen popped up before her. She read through it to the end and wondered what her goal should be.
A few minutes of silence later, she picked up a virtual pen and wrote in her goal.
My goal is to make friends.

“Leon, would you turn that damned thing down?” Slamming the door a bit louder than was necessary behind him, Aaron Lane dragged his feet into the two bedroom apartment he shared with Mr. Leon Dietrich. Hanging a worn, blue jacket on the coat hanger by the door, the Native American man toed off his shoes and walked into the kitchen with a sigh. Another work day done.
“Sorry, A-Rod.” Replied his roommate cheerfully, playing his new, and currently favorite, game. Tragic Gloria. Best. Game. Ever. Well, at least until he got another game. Just as Aaron’s roommate moved to turn down the volume, clutching the remote in one hand and the game controller in another…something happened.
Black out.
“Leon, did you forget to turn in our electricity bill—“ Turning to face the television screen, Aaron was surprised to see it still glowing, as if it was still…working. Blinking in curiosity, the next five seconds happened very quickly. First the screen began to emit a bright, even blinding light, as its shade became an ocean blue and just as mesmerizing.
“What the—“ And then he was sucked in.
Then everything truly did go black.
- - - - -
“What kind of bullshit is this?” Questioned the classified ranger, looking at the newly popped up screen with a quirked brow. Goal? What?
This had to be some stupid dream.
Not taking any of this for real, Aaron signed in virtual ink with a disbelieving frown ,’My goal is to slay a dragon.’

She could hear the noise of her brother’s game even through her headphones. It wasn’t that she minded if he played it while she was in the room, because Samantha really couldn’t have cared less. He was a teenage boy; they played video games, and well, she was just the visiting older sister. The problem was that he had left the game on when he had been called off for some chore or another. Emptying the dishwasher or something. Sam didn’t know and didn’t particularly care either. All she knew was that this game was noisy and so were the other people playing. It seemed like everyone was playing or wanted to be playing that game, “Tragic Glory” or whatever it was. Samantha had played it once or twice out of boredom, and she suspected that only boredom could ever bring her to play the game for any length of time.
Samantha slipped a scrap of paper between the pages of the book in her hands to mark her place before setting the book aside. She snatched the headphones from her ears and set them aside with a yawn. Closing her eyes, she stretched her arms above her head, wondering how much longer it would be until her brother returned. A very small part of her mind wondered if she could get away with messing with his game a little bit. Not enough to ruin anything, of course. Just enough to bother him.
Or maybe not. She didn’t particularly feel like antagonizing him too much anyway. It probably wasn’t worth the time or effort involved.
Her eyes opened to an almost complete darkness—the only device in the room still alive was the computer screen. With narrowed eyes, she rose from the sofa, wondering if this were some sort of trick, some kind of failed prank. Sam crossed the room, intent on turning the lights back on. No sooner had she passed the computer, however, that the strangest sensation overcame her…
She had no idea how much later it was when she became aware of an accented voice explaining something. Samantha was only partially listening; her attention quickly turned towards the sudden changes in her own appearance. Her skin was a little paler, her hair was a little longer…and a completely different color. An unnatural color at that. Was she hallucinating? Dreaming? Had she tripped on something in the dark and hit her head a little too hard?
The voice continued for only a few more moments before a small box popped up in front of her. Sam scanned the information listed, frowning as she realized that this all seemed extremely familiar.
Why am I dreaming that I’m in that silly game?
She supposed it didn’t really matter why all of this was going on. If it was a dream or a hallucination, it would eventually end, wouldn’t it? And if by some near impossible chance that this was something else, well…what else could it be? That she’d literally been sucked into the game? Was something like that even possible? Sam doubted it, but on the off chance that it was, the bartender had mentioned that they couldn’t technically die, hadn’t he? Whatever the case, she might as well play along, right?
Goal…what sort of goal do I want, hm?
After a moment of thought, she signed her decision.
My goal is to gain fame.
