DESCRIPTION -
Mauville City is a hive of bustling activity in central Hoenn, attractions to this City ranging from Rydel's Cycles and the Game Corner, to the Mauville City Gym and the famous Trainer Hill; there's even the Day-Care Center on Route 117. Due to its location, no small amount of people pass through here on a daily basis. The City's power comes from the power plant known as New Mauville, which is located just south of the City, on Route 110. Odds are, if you want it, you can probably find it here in Mauville. Don't hesitate to enjoy what Mauville has to offer!

LOCATION -
Mauville City is located in central Hoenn, with Route 111 to the north, Route 118 to the east, Route 110 to the south, and Route 117 to the west.

PEOPLE -
As a hub for travelers passing through on their quest to explore the Hoenn region, the people of Mauville are easily friendly to strangers, even offering helpful tips that could come in handy later on in one's journey.

RESOURCES/EVENTS/PLACES OF INTEREST -
Rydel's Cycles - The owner of this Shop, Rydel, will generously offer you one of two bikes - Mach or Acro - when you enter his Shop. Your Running Shoes could probably use a well-deserved break at this point in your journey, right?

Mauville Game Corner - One of the City's more popular locations, the Game Corner has been known to draw tourists in throughout Hoenn, and even from far-away regions. Using a Coin Case, you can play at either the slot machines or roulette wheels, in order to save up Coins for some special prizes.

Mauville City Gym - Mauville City houses the third Gym in your challenge of the Hoenn region Gyms. Wattson is the head of this particular Gym, and he specializes in Electric-type pokemon. He awards the Dynamo Badge to the Trainers that can best him in a battle.

Trainer Hill - Located just north of Mauville - lying along Route 111 -, Trainer Hill is a rather new addition. Once inside(and after stocking up in the provided PokeMart), it serves as tower designed for trainers to race and battle through quickly. There is a catch, however - your pokemon cannot be healed between battles, though recovery items such as Revives and Potions can be used both during and between battles. Best of luck if you're going to challenge Trainer Hill!

Pokemon Day-Care - To the west of Mauville, Route 117 is the home to the Hoenn region's Day-Care Center. The elderly couple that works here will gladly take care of your pokemon for you while you're on your journey, even going so far as to teach them a new move or two.

MYTH/LORE -
Mauville City is known as 'the bright and shiny City of fun!'. After being in the City for a few moments, you can probably pick up on why. Just watch out for electrical bursts from the Gym!

It had to be said, it was a perfectly nice and quiet day in Hoenn. "GET YOUR ARSE OUT OF MY FACE." Well, it was still a perfectly clement day, blue skies and - there was a thundercrackle and a short torrent of rain deluged down upon the Routes leading to Mauvile City. At this point, the narrator gave up describing the scenery and instead focused on the action. Alistair shoved Teddy off of him, throwing the Regent into the path of his own Houndoom, whom he promptly fell over and dropped like a stone with a disability. "If you hadn't noticed, we're busy! No time for tail-chasing!" Shaking his head, Alistair grabbed a hold of a rocket launcher, lying on the deck having been disturbed by the two men's tumble, and brought it up to his shoulder, aiming through the scope attached at the hovercraft following directly behind them, tracer rounds setting fire to the trees around them. The moment he saw an opportunity, Alistair fired, the rocket blowing the very head of the hovercraft up, sending it flipping forward until it crashed into a tree, continuing to flame there even as Alistair threw the empty launcher at the jeep that went to take its place, the heavy metal apparatus hitting one of the Horizon grunts in the head and sending him reeling, the jeep spearing off to the left and crashing into a ditch. "I want to blow something! Hehe." Saint promptly dug his teeth into his trainer's leg, not even giving him a warning due to how dire things were getting. Teddy let out a yelp, attempting to chastise the dog - until Alistair's muffled swear let him know there was something he needed to see. Turning around, his jaw dropped as he saw a circle of thunderbolts, constantly striking downwards as if they wound never stopped, with, in the middle, a huge black specter flexing and coalescing as a figure with a blackened orb in hand sought to command it. They were too late - Team Horizon had managed to bring Zekrom over to their side. Teddy and Alistair both felt their jaws drop, even as the heavy black legend turned to bear fiery red eyes on them.
". . . Well, s**t."

-Elite Four, First Position-
-Water-type specialist-

User Image "Hold on to yer britches, folks!" Nathan shouted over his shoulder as Alistair fired upon the hovercraft that used to be behind them. "It's gonna be a bit of a rough landin' if yer not prepa--" He was cut off as the hovercraft for Team 3 slammed into the ground, sending up a cloud of dust, rocks, and - thanks to the recent weather change - flecks of mud.

When the craft hit the ground, Devyn - in 'true' Devyn fashion - face-planted into the muddy ground, earning a snicker from Zidler when he stood up. "Ahh~ stow it, Zidler." Frowning slightly, he wiped as much mud as he could from his face - which explained why he didn't see the thunderbolt arc down from above, making contact with the ground mere meters away from where he was. "$%@$#@%$!" His face paling in surprise, the younger Monroe man leapt backwards, plastering himself against the side of the hovercraft.

"I...I think..." His gray-green eyes were widened. "I think...I'm gonna grow to hate Reno after this..."

"Oi!" The blonde Water-typer blinked bemusedly as a rocket launcher was tossed into his hands by his father. "If yer gonna blend in here, at least make yerself useful, boy!" Boa - being the sturdier of the two pokemon between herself and Zidler - joined Devyn with a 'Gar.', armed with a rocket launcher of her own.

"...Alright, Wynaut." After shrugging to himself, Devyn and Boa - standing back-to-back with each other - opened fire on the vehicles that beloned to Team Horizon, high-fiving when both of their targets went up in flames.

"I'm kinda hopin' Hector(his Gible) turns out like you." 'Ga~ar^^'

Team 3 was zipping away in their hovercraft while Annette, the timid little breeder, was cuddled with her Pokemon in a safe location on board. She occassionally caught glimpses of everyone doing their best to fight off the enemy, and she couldn't help but feel bad that she wasn't contributing...

But what could she do? She was merely a breeder. She wasn't cut out for this kind of stuff...

She looked around and saw a mounted gattling gun, unattended. She blinked a bit and stood up, legs shaking.

"Miss Annette! Where are you going?" Casanova asked, suddenly worried that the blue-haired girl stood up.

"I-I'm going to h-help." She studdered, barely making her way over to the gun. She pushed herself up, using it for stability, and placed both hands on the handle.

"Get away from that!" Casanova yelled. "You're gonna hurt yourself!"

"No!" She shook her head. "This entire time... I've been hiding and scared. I've.... I've been nothing but a burden... to the whole team! I-I have to do something!" She said, slowly sliding her thumbs up to the buttons she assumed fired the gun, and swivelling it around to point at one of the enemy vehicles.

Casanova faceplanted and dove into the girls bag, a red ribbon shooting out from it and began to form a large body. Before he could manifest, Annette bit her lip and... pressed the buttons!

The gun fired, the whole thing vibrated, and Annette screamed while holding on for dear life as the gun shook her to the point where her feet rarely hit the ground! Even with all the shots the gun was firing, she hit absolutely nothing.

"GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!!!!" she screamed, her voice vibrating with the gun itself before something big picked her up, yoinked her away from the gun, and set her aside.

She hugged herself and looked up to see Arthur, her shiny Nidoking, standing there. He had sunglasses on, and a cigar hanging out of the corner of his mouth. He flased her a thumbs up before grabbing the gun, firing with ease as he proceeded to litter the sky with bullets and debris from the enemy vehicles he was demolishing. He smiled, the cigar still in the corner of his mouth as he took down the enemies 1 by 1.

Annette only had enough time to wonder where he got the sunglasses and cigar when the hovercraft his land and she was sent flying backwards, landing on something and rolling off on to the floor of the hovercraft. She rubbed her lower back and turned to see what she had landed on, only to see a spikey-haired blonde with his face in the mud.

She gasped and hopped to her feet, "Oh my gosh! I am so sorr-EEEEE!!!" She screamed, jumping backwards with the blonde elite as the lightning struck close-by. She looked up to see, none other than, Zekrom.

Her eyes widened in terror, but she couldn't look away.

Just what had she gotten herself into, exactly!? Was it too late to go home?

Ecruteak City Gym Leader: Dark Type Specialist

While quite quiet for most of the ride (minus some expletives that went unheard over the roar of machine gun fire), Leila was certainly doing her part. After being removed from the driver's seat, she rushed around the hovercraft, constantly switching weapons, though she did enjoy being near the front of the hovercraft the most.

Of course, that all stopped when she saw the sable dynamo. She stopped dead in her tracks, staring up into the sky with mouth agape. It was at this moment that she realized that this wasn't a bunch of jackasses like the Teams of the past used to be. This was when she realized s**t just got real.

She wasn't given enough time to dwell on what, exactly, that meant, as she was promptly flung from the LCAC into the brush.

This was bad.

She picked herself up from the bush, brushing a few twigs and leaves from her clothing. Dio, who had also been flung from the hovercraft, followed behind. She was a little scratched up from that, but was otherwise unharmed.
Of course, she was a bit pissed.

"What the **** just happened!?" she yelled at no-one in particular.

After storming around the hovercraft, calming herself a bit, she looked back at the source of the lightning, ignoring the burning wreckage of Horizon vehicles littering the ground. As she watched the lighting tirelessly touch down around the beast, she felt her anger rise up again. This time, with focus.

Reaching into her guitar case, she grabbed a couple of Poké-Balls, releasing the Palpitoad and Whismur that they contained. Odd choices, yes, but these were odd times.
They were joined by Galgaliel and Samael. The Dark-type Gym Leader and her team looked towards the chaos that awaited them, with a determined look on their faces. The odds were up in the air. Nothing could be predicted anymore.

They were in their element.

SIMON ELDRITCH, CERULEAN CITY GYM LEADER
User Image

In his excitement of using the hovercraft's rocket launcher to help decimate the Team Horizon goons that encircled the team, Simon didn't even notice the hovercraft go airborne (thanks to Nathan's driving "skills"). So, naturally, he was taken a bit off-guard when the vehicle landed hard on the ground, sending several people flying around. Luckily for Simon, he was still holding onto the mounted rocket launcher, so he wasn't launched himself. Unfortunately, Arthur (Simon's Slaking) wasn't holding onto anything, and was quickly catapulted over the deck's railing. Even more unfortunate was Devyn, who was used as a landing cushion for the 287+ pound Lazy Pokemon.

Luckily, Annette was quick enough to move out of the way just in time to avoid the hairy behemoth. Simon looked around, eventually peering over the edge of the hovercraft, seeing Arthur laying on top of the Elite Water-typer. "Uh.... Sorry!" he shouted down to his young friend. It certainly wasn't the best way to preserve a friendship, but what can you do? Simon then looked up again, seeing the swirling electrical storm that surrounded the Deep Black Pokemon, Zekrom. The Normal-typer's brow furrowed, his hatred for this group of terrorists visibly rising as he saw that they had gained control of the black dragon. Things were about to get more serious than he had initially realized. Without another word though, he pulled another Pokeball from his pocket, releasing Auger (his Dunsparce) onto the deck. He didn't know exactly when he would come in handy, but he assumed it would be sooner rather than later.

User ImageAce had been enjoying his time at the hovercraft's weapons, mowing down Horizon opposition as they came. It was glorious. Even as their hovercraft collided with solid ground, he was still grinning and awaiting what came next. His fun subsided, though, when the mighty Zekrom appeared. This was not good. He had been hoping to encounter the other one...what was it's name? Rashi-something. The one that looked reminiscient of a poodle. Electricity was not something the Fuschia Gym Leader was typically prepared for. I knew I should have started investing in Ground-types...a badass Marowak or something...

Shaking himself free of his doubts, he grinned and produced a pokeball from his sleeve. Volt still stood on the deck of the hovercraft, boldly facing down the beast before them - his Motor Drive would at least keep him safe from the creature's Electric attacks. Metrik was not so fortunate, but he could dive below the water's surface if he needed to get away quickly. Bobacobra was still somewhere nearby; as things worked out, he was over with Annette, grinning like an idiot at her and waiting to lend a hand, should the need arise. With a flash of red light, Ace was joined by Lock, his fierce Tyrogue. The Scuffle Pokemon stood staring at Zekrom, not showing an ounce of fear. In fact, it seemed almost eager. This was a rare opportunity. Never was Lock faced with such a promising opponent. Ace often pitted him against Pokemon who seemed to wildly outclass the little guy, which made their defeat at a Tyrogue's hands seem so much more emphasized. But a Legendary...a long shot, perhaps, but it would mean a perfect victory. "You up for it, pal?" Without a word in response, Lock began to walk forward, rotating his neck and cracking it in several places. He lived for this.

"Oh my stars and garters . . ." Alistair rubbed his head as he got back to his feet, having been thrown from the hovercraft when it had slammed into the ground - Auric decided to help him and promtply siezed his hands, setting him on his feet in an instant. The DI swore he could feel the bones in his arms squealing in protest. "Thanks, old bean . . . ah." It was then that the Unova-born policeman noticed the rather large electric dragon that seemed to have effortlessly summoned so much electricity that the very air around them, for a five mile radius, was turning blue, and a light magnetic effect set in. Teddy settled a hand on his rapier, making sure that it didn't go walk-about, before a hand went to his head, knocking at it. "Ah. I'm not dreaming. Well. S**t. Ladies and gentlemen, in the words of Kit Marlowe . . . we're more f**ked than my last one night stand. And trust me, she was pretty f**ked." Saint sunk his teeth into his trainer's leg again. Alistair took a deep breath before releasing the rest of his Pokemon; he sent a good swathe of them off to look after the civiliains no doubt escaping the scene of the legendary resurrection, being left only with Sherlock (his Ryhdon), Moriarty (his Luxray), Wallander (his Claydol), Auric and Baskerville. "Prince Charming, you're with me - we're going to take care of the Horizon idiots. Everyone else, you've got the massive rampaging dragon more hyped on electricity than Frankenstein's monster . . . allons-y!" With that, the Brit hared off towards Mauvile City on Baskerville's back, while Teddy secured himself on Lucy's back, winking and saluting the female members of the team.
"Try not to die, lovelies! I need wenches for my victory party."

Annette was frozen in shock. It seemed like the entire world around her had gone silent except for the roars coming from the black legend. She had to constantly remind herself to breathe, realizing that she wasn't doing it enough. It was as if she thought that maybe if she didn't move, breathe, or make a sound... that she would be safe.

Deep down, she know that wasn't true.

Teddy was right... they were... well... you know.

She took a few more deep breathes when, in an instant, something changed.

Maybe it was due to the gravity of the situation, all of the stress she had to endure all at once, or maybe she had found a backbone. Only time would tell which one it was.

She stood up, fists clentched. "Come on, everyone! We can do this!" She turned to face everyone, determination in her eye. "If we work together, there's no way they can win! We have some of the most gifted trainers in the world, all right here! They are nothing but a bunch of manipulative thugs!" She said, pointing in a general direction where she thought Horizon might be. "They may have a legendary Pokemon on their side, but that doesn't mean they have the advantage!" She said, turning around to look at the Electric dragon, her hair whipping around from the intense winds that whipped through the area from his sheer presence. "We can do this! I know we can!"

Casanova simply stood there, along with Max and Hadrien. All three with dropped jaws and wide eyes. They had never heard Annette speak like that... in fact, they had never seen her do anything remotely close to this.

"We really are f***ed!" Casanova cried in his squeaky-toy voice. "She's gone crazy! She's finally snapped!! Oh~ I knew we shouldn't have let her come here!!" He said, pounding his head with his blobby nubs.

Arthur, however, smiled. He left his post at the tourette, after clearing the waters, and joined Annette at the front of the Aircraft. He lifted her with ease and set her on his shoulder, turning to face the group again.

"Does anyone here have any mechanics knowledge? If we can get this thing moving again, it can only be helpful, right? Oh! And does anyone have a Pokemon with the 'Lightningrod' ability? That would be beyond helpful..."

-Elite Four, First Position-
-Water-type specialist-

User Image "...Are you two inSANE!?" Thanks to his logic-defying jacket, Devyn was now mostly clean of the mud that he face-planted into earlier. Seriously, don't ask; I don't even know how he got clean so quickly, and I invented his damn jacket!

...Anyway. "Leave 'em, Devy." Nathan - who was joined by Devyn's Feraligatr, Zidler - was working on getting the hovercraft back to working condition. "If those two blokes are aimin' t'get struck by lightning in this freak rainstorm--" With Zekrom's recent activity, rain-clouds had begun to gather over Mauville, releasing a steady downpour. "--then that's their own bloody business." Letting out a 'Gator.' of agreement, Zidler continued to work on the hovercraft.

'...Rain, hunh...?' It was at this point that Devyn had one of his more brilliant ideas. Recalling Laila from the waters that surrounded Mauville - think about it. -, the blonde Elite tossed a regular Quick Ball into the air. "Rise an' shine, Sebas!" Moments later, he was joined by his shiny, violet-colored Kingdra, who responded with an almost angry-sounding 'Dooogh~!!'. Yep, Sebas was out for some curb-stomping.

And Devyn had a pretty good target in mind. "See that?" He pointed a fingerless-gloved hand towards the Deep Black Pokemon; Sebas nodded in reply. "You've got a few things on that overgrown lightningrod; care to remind 'im?"

If Kingdra had a mouth to speak of, Sebas would be smirking at about this point. 'Dooogh~ >:3' With that, he literally bounced into action - show me another way Kingdra gets around on land -, and proceeded to, for lack of a better term, troll the giant Electric/Dragon legend. It went a little like this:

Keep in mind, Dragon-type pokemon such as Sebas took very little damage from Electric-type attacks to begin with, regardless of who was using them(in this case, Zekrom). With that in mind, the violet-colored seahorse charged into the proverbial fray, not all that affected by the electricity coming from Zekrom. Also, keep in mind, Sebas was a good deal faster than the Horizon grunts now, thanks to the Rain(his ability, Swift Swim, doubled his Spd). Combine these two facts with the knowledge that Sebas could - and actually did - give the overgrown lightningrod a taste of its own medicine, in the form of a STAB-powered, high-speed Outrage, and the Horizon grunts would pretty much see a destructive violet blur, ducking in-and-out of their firing range with his now-tremendous Spd.

"...!?" Nathan's thin, sandy-blonde eyebrow twicthed, as he caught a glance of his son's Kingdra in action. "And yer tellin' me you caught 'im as a ruddy Seadra...!?"

"Yep." Devyn and Boa had returned to the hovercraft for a moment, to reload their rocket launchers.

Nathan blinked bemusedly behind his tinted-orange shades. "I can honestly say that I've never seen a seahorse like that before." Boa let out a rough 'Gar.' of agreement.

Leila watched as the Elite and the Inspector broke off from the group. She had a bad feeling about this. She had seen enough movies to know that you don't split up the group. Despite this, she let them go without a comment, hardly giving them a second look. There was a part of her that even wanted to go with them, for reasons of her own. She pushed that thought to the back of her mind and focused on the timid, violet-haired girl. who was now giving a bit of a speech.

It came as a surprise to see the woman who had earlier been clinging to Leila for dear life, standing determinedly in the midst of a supernatural thunderstorm.
She couldn't help but feel a mix of dread and determination. Things seemed all the more dire, but that only meant that she would have to do a bit more to fight it.

"If a hovercraft is anything like a coach bus, I could try to figure out how to fix it." Leila piped in, answering Annette's question.

She turned to her Pokemon. "Think you guys can handle this on your own for a bit?"

"Dra~pion!" Galgaliel stepped forwards, taking leadership of the mismatched group. Under her command, they mobilized towards the legendary as Leila moved towards the downed hovercraft.

"Pion! Dra!" Galgaliel adressed Dio, who was a little reluctant to leave Leila on her own. Under her orders, Dio's two heads smelled out the source of the electricity, reared back, and launched simultaneous Dragon Pulse mortars in the direction of the legendary.

Next was Treble and Bass. Galgaliel outlined a plan for them. It was dangerous, but the pair didn't seem to have any trouble with it. Galgaliel nodded, and took each of the two into one of his pincered arms. With a great roar, Galgaliel flung the two towards the great black dragon. Stopping short of Zekrom, the two went to work. Their small size made it easy for them to avoid the Horizon grunts. It was the first real test of their teamwork.

The training had paid off. Hopefully. For the past several months, the Elite Four Champion had turned into a reclusive hermit who had been training in the wilderness all around Kanto and Johto. However, Emily felt that her training hadn't been enough. There were still 3 more continents to train on, and one of them had a certain someone that the Champion would like to visit (excluding Reno, of course).

Arriving in Mauville was not too difficult of a task. All she had Hawkeye do was follow the long bike highway north a bit and soon she found herself in the grand city of Mauville. Mauville was known for several things, but today, there was one thing in particular that the Sandstorm User was interested in, a man named Nathan Munroe. Who was he? Why, he was only the trainer of Ms. Milliardo herself, and one of Hawkeye's favourite nut cracking friends (both figuratively and literally speaking).

Touching down on the southern edge of the city, Emily surveyed it before walking in. It reminded her of Cerulean City back in Kanto, or perhaps Goldenrod. No, it was small than Goldenrod. But there was one distinguishing factor that set Mauville apart from both Goldenrod and Cerulean and that was the rather large electrical storm that was occurring in the distance...inside the city. Patting Hawkeye on his beak, she turned to him and whispered,
"Okkkkayyyy...I knew Mauville used to be run by an Electric Type Gym leader, but not even Reno is crazy enough to do something like that." Emily muttered. Determined to find what was causing the electrical disturbance (or should we say tornado storm), the Elite Four champion sprinted off into the city, with Hawkeye wobbling close behind.

"Thank you, Leila. We'll try to hold it off so you can fix this thing without too much interference!" She said, Arthur turning to face the Legend with his usually-timid trainer on his shoulder. He hopped off of his perch atop the Hovercraft and made his way out into the open field towards the target.

"Ok, Sludge Wave! If anyone has Sunny Day, it would be helpful!" She called back after issuing her attack, still sitting on Arthurs shoulder as he unleashed a wave of Purple fluid at the Black Dragon, hitting it in the face.

"Come on, you over-sized taser! Over here!" She waved her arms, trrying to get the beasts attention to distract it from everyone else. This would help the two who lef the group, as well as Leila. As long as she was near Arthur, she should be (relatively) safe.

"Miss Annette! Stop! You're gonna get yourself killed! What has gotten into you!?" Casanova cried. He tried to get to her side but a certain shiny Eevee wouldn't let him leave the hovercraft. Holding on to his goo with his teeth. The purple goopy Pokemon was stretched nearly the entire length of the hovercraft before he couldn't seem to stretch any further, trying his hardest to get over to her.

Even Hadrien, her faithful body guard, couldn't bare to watch her do this, but he trusted Arthur enough to know that the Nidoking would keep her safe, and thus it would now be his job to keep his companions safe as well. He fluttered at the front of the Hovercraft, keeping his attention focused on the action and ready to jump in if necessary, but also ready to defend if needed.
