Raveena paused, looking up into the sky with a hint of melancholy. The sky was streaked with colors slowly fading, the sun's promise that it would return after the night. It was a time of great silence and...
Splash
Water droplets sprinkled her muzzle startling her from her reverie as her otter companion sought her attention in the one way he knew was guaranteed to work.
It was a time of beauty. She ruffled her wings, settling them more comfortably along her back as she turned her attention to her best friend. A small, almost imperceptable twitch of her lips was the only smile she showed.
'And what, may I ask, is the reason you deemed important enough to act so foolishly?''You were getting that look on your face again... thinking you know? Don't you remember what sort of trouble that gets you into? I simply thought it better to stop it before it started.' Raveena's cheeks darkened slightly as she recalled the incident of which he spoke. 'Come on, Pirata. It only happened that once. You know I wouldn't let it get that out-of-hoof again.'
She turned back to the sky. 'Besides... maybe it would be better if...'The otter swiftly swam to the banks of the river and pulled himself out to rest next to his 'treasure'. he leaned comfortingly against her hind legs, careful to avoid her accessories of which she was inordinately fond of.
'Maybe it would be easier.' He quickly waved his front paws as the mare tossed her head so she could actually see him, without her mane getting in the way of chocolate colored eyes. 'Just hear me. Easier isn't better. And I won't let you take the easy way out, my treasure. You're better than that.' Raveena snorted in disbelief as she slowly backed away from her familiar.'According to whom?'

It was truly a night to remember. The sky was clear, shifting softly from one shade to another as they stretched across the sky. The faint twinkling of stars were decorating the heavens lightly, fading towards the horizon. Shadows were non existent right now, which made everything seem a little more surreal in a way. A real picturesque moment.
Ramses held his head up towards the glorious sky and listened to the breeze whisper to him softly. It was calling to him but he couldn't understand the meaning. It was just out of reach. There but unknown. There was nothing more frustrating than not knowing how to understand. At least in the purple hued stallion's opinion. He stood tall on his hooves while his eyes dropped down to the small river bed where his friend sat, washing her fur. A daily routine for the raccoon. "A pointless thing, really. All you're doing is washing yourself to get dirty again," he teased with a light nudge as he lowered his head to push the furry female.
Kabuki let out a small girlish cry as she was nudged by the more powerful beast, actually loosing her footing and tumbling forward into the rivers shallow edge. A look of displease and irritation shot through her, radiating out of her eyes. "Ramses, that was a very foolish thing to do. Wait until you're asleep tonight. You'll rue that. Rue it." She warned before crawling out of the water and shaking off her fur, flicking her tail. Water droplets flung from the tip, rippling in the river.
Just as the little raccoon was listening to Ramses' warm chuckle something distracted her. The little ears on top of her skull began to flicker about, adjusting to find the source. She turned to see a soquili down the river quite a ways. She didn't really grasp her attention all that much and looked back to her wet form. But wait! A second glance and there was a studly little otter near the mare. "Ah, a boy..." she mused lightly, voice hardly audible and without consulting her amused friend she scurried off.
Ramses widened his eyes as the small rodent like critter darted down along the riverbed. "Kabuki, wait! I apologize. I admit, it wasn't that funny," he called after the raccoon but she paid him no mind. Not wishing to be by himself the stallion set off in pursue, venturing along until he finally took notice of a dusty looking mare with purple hair that managed to glisten in the twilight. Here he found something all to embarrassing, even though it wasn't he who should have been embarrassed.
The purple raccoon began flaunting herself in front of the otter, and shamelessly ignored the larger female. A twirl here, a flick of her bushy tail there. She thought of herself as a genuine man eater. The more humble and modest stallion stepped closer, placing his hoof in front of the raccoon as to close the curtains on her act. "I'm sorry. She can be quite... bold." He stood, staring with furrowed eyes, humiliated from his friend's obsession with males.
