I just got a book on lucid dreaming. I haven't started trying to achieve lucidity yet, but has anyone had a lucid dream? If so, what happened?

I lucid dream quite often. I don't do anything to prompt it, it just happens. The annoying thing is that I'm aware I'm dreaming but still can't influence the dreams in any way. I end-up frustrating myself so much that I wake up.

I lucid dream a lot. I used to practice a lot more, too, when my sleep schedule was a little messed up and I'd take naps during the day. I lucid dreamed last night, once during a dream in a hotel about people dressed in very stereotypical zombie and vampire costumes "attacking" people, and again during a dream in a cafeteria, where I was trying to get my reflection to look correct.
It takes a little while to get the hang of it, and most of the time, you'll either wake up or just go back into a regular dream.

And that must be annoying, not being able to control it.

Kai Sparrowheart And that must be annoying, not being able to control it. The most bothersome ones are actually lucid nightmares. Where I'm aware that its just a dream and nothing can harm me but I'm irrationally afraid anyway and still unable to change or influence anything.
Those are the most bothersome. (Luckily, THOSE don't happen often.)
