Nuvema Town DESCRIPTION -Welcome to Nuvema Town, widely regarded as 'The Start of Something Big'. A small, cozy Town, Nuvema serves as the starting point for young Trainers in the Unova region, where - if they're lucky enough - they can get their first pokemon from Prof. Juniper, at her Lab. If you're not here for a starter, then perhaps you could enjoy the serene ocean view from the Town's overlooking end. LOCATION -Nuvema Town is located in south-eastern Unova, serving as the region's southern-most point. PEOPLE -There aren't very many people here in Nuvema, but the few that reside here are a helpful sort, always ready to give pointers and/or helpful advice to those who are starting out on their journey. RESOURCES/EVENTS/PLACES OF INTEREST -Professor Juniper's Lab - Prof. Aurea Juniper has her pokemon Lab here in Nuvema Town, where she does research along-side her father, Cedric Juniper. If you're a new Trainer starting out, she'll be glad to give you a starter pokemon to help you out. Choose wisely - the pokemon you choose as your starter will become a trusted partner later on. MYTH/LORE -No real myths and lore from this small Town, unfortunately. But if you happen to look up at the sky, you can see small Flying-types such as Pidove and Woobat flying about.

If I could be with someone ღ Nicole "Nikki" Frazer ღ like you,Would you...? Would you be strong enough for me? The sunlight peered through the curtains of a cluttered room, trying it's hardest to brighten the other-wise dark room. A girl, tucked in her bed, rolls over, only to be greeted by the sun. Her eyes slowly flutter open, her hand immediately shading her her eyes from the unwelcomed bright light. She furrowed her eyebrows, forcing herself to sit up and stretch, yawning away her sleepiness. She lazily looked at the clock, squinting to try and force her vision to focus quicker.
She gasped, snatching the clock off of her dresser to get a closer look, hoping she had read it wrong.
Nope, she read it right... her alarm had failed to go off....... again.
She groaned and tossed the clock back on her dresser as she hopped out of bed, running to her closet and snatching the clothes she had prepared for the day before disappearing into the bathroom.
One quick shower later, she rushed back in, a towel wrapped around her head and clothes almost clinging to her, since she hadn't bothered to towel off properly before putting them on... there was no time! She quickly grabbed her bag and made for the door, skidding to a stop before running back to the bathroom to brush her teeth.
Finally, after her hygiene regiments were through, she practically lept down the stairs.
"Oh! Nikki, I left you some breakfast... you should really eat before you go on this journey of yours..." She heard her grandmother tell her from the other room.
"Alright, Gramma!" She dashed into the kitchen, seeing that there had been a feast laid out for her. She sighed, knowing she didn't have time to enjoy the massive breakfast her grandmother had prepared for her.
"I'm sorry, Gramma.." She whispered to herself before grabbing a piece of toast, placing a corner of it in her mouth and grabbing a few slices of bacon before heading towards the door, where her Grandmother was waiting to see her off.
Nikki quickly slipped her shoes on, which was difficult to do with bacon in your hands and toast in your mouth.
"You've gotten so big..." her grandmother doted. "I'm sure your parents are proud of you, too."
Nikki paused, thinking of her words for a bit before scarfing down the toast and giving her a gentle smile.. "Well, I'm off..." She told her, wiping her mouth with her arm before heading for the door, only to be intercepted by a hug from behind. She turned, hugging her grandmother. "I'll be back to visit, Gramma... I promise."
The older woman nodded. "I know, dear... you have fun out there... call me and check in on me once in a while." Nikki nodded in agreement, and with that, their goodbyes were done.
Nikki closed the door behind her, letting the sun hit her barely-tanned skin as she made her way towards the laboratory.
Half way there, she spotted her friends: Patrat, Lillipup, Audino, Herdier and Scraggy. They wanted to see her off as well. She gave them a smile, but she knew she wouldn't have time for the goodbye's right now, she was late enough as it was.
They understood, and walked with her to the laboratory, planning on waiting for her to come back out before they sent her off.
She took a deep breath as she approached the doors of the laboratory, taking a moment to build up her own courage before knocking on the door.

"Dad, I'm really not sure about this . . ." "Oh, come on, kiddo! You weren't even this antsy when your trousers fell down during your leaver's assembly." "Dad, that was you." Dorian Lombardi Trainer In The Making ☇═━┈┈━═☇ "So, how's it feel?" The man with red hair, not unlike a mane, turned to look at the small spiky-haired boy keeping a tight grasp on him, and the the boy shrugged at the question. "Like I'm on a bald eagle that the laws of physics say shouldn't be able to keep us in the sky?" The man let out a roar of laughter, patting said bald eagle's ruff as the bird made affronted noises. "That's not what I meant, and you know it - c'mon, Dorian, tell your dear old dad how you're feeling. I mean, this is a big day for you - eleven years old, ready to go running off around the world . . ." There was a light undertone of sadness to the older man's words, but Dorian didn't pay it any attention, simply shrugging again. "Feels OK, I guess." His father let out an inaudible sigh, and decided to change tack . . or he could just avoid the subject completely as usual. "Here, I'll put the radio on, kay?" To avoid the uncomfortable silence he know would ensue, Irving twiddled the radio, landing on Dorian's favorite radio station . . .
"Goooooooood morning U-no-va! The time is eight o'clock, and you're listening to the Zevon Radio Show! Now, before we give you a round-up of the news, the weather and the sport, it's time to play that tune we know you all love so much." Sitting in recording studio right in the heart of Castelia City, Tybalt Zevon's radio show was in usual good form, the host of the show practically bouncing in his chair, giving a signal for the Oshawott at the turntable to start up the music. "Because, you know what Unova? I've got a feeling it's gonna be a won-der-ful day! In fact . . ." The song started to play, climbing and climbing. "In fact, it's more than a feeling!" And with that guitar riff, the show, and indeed the day, had started . . .
The song was reaching its end by the time the father and son reached Nuvema Town, Typhoon kicking up no small amount of dust as he came in hot, only bringing his wings up to slow down at the last possible moment. Dorian was, of course, less than pleased with the ostentatious entrance, but Irving was grinning to himself as the Braviary sat down, inviting Dorian to slide off. The eleven year old did so, and looked poised to head straight to the lab, but his father wasn't about to settle for that. "Hey." Typhoon stood back up, more than capable of supporting his trainer, as Irving made eye contact with his son. "I know we've had our differences, son . . . and no kind of last minute speech is gonna change that. But no matter what I think, no matter what you think . . ." He leaned over, ruffling the boy's hair affectionately. "You're gonna be absolutely spectacular. Do me proud, eh?" With that, the Braviary kicked off once again, and Dorian watched with a small smile on his face - for once . . . he felt like he wanted to do right by his dad. Shaking his head, Dorian trudged towards the lab . . . ☄═━┈┈━═☄ Irving Lombardi Mistralton City Gym Leader, Flying-type Specialist "Oh. Oh, yeah it was. Whoops." "At least we left some lasting impressions, I suppose." "I doubt those Stantler ever recovered."

If I could be with someone ღ Nicole "Nikki" Frazer ღ like you,Would you...? Would you be strong enough for me? As Nikki waited for the OK to come in, she continued to stand outside the door patiently waiting with her hands folded in front of her. The tension was rising, along with her excitement! But she couldn't help but wonder.... was she too late?
She bit her lip in anticipation, but soon hear a strange sound from the sky. She turned, shading her eyes from the sun and squinting in an attempt to get a better view before...
"Urf!" She grunted, being pushed back by the wind 'whatever-it-was' had created upon landing, falling into a sitting position on the professors front steps. "Ow...." She groaned to herself, rubbing her lower back as she continued to watch the new arrivals. She had never seen either of them before, but the larger man did look slightly familiar. It was hard for her to tell. As she went to shade her eyes, yet again, from the sun, the man and his bird pokemon were off. But they left the smaller boy behind. Maybe he was here to start his journey too?
Did this mean she wasn't late? She quickly stood up, looking behind her to inspect the damage... and sighed as she attempted to wipe the dirt off her skirt before the boy could see.

"Everything will be wonderful. Someday." Dorian Lombardi Trainer In The Making ☇═━┈┈━═☇ Dorian quickly spotted the other girl, who looked around his age, and hurried over to her, worried that he was late - it had been eight thirty they were meant to be here, right? He cringed slightly as he realized the girl had probably seen all of that, and looking closely he could spot dust on her skirt. He cringed again. 'Thanks for that, dad. I really needed it.' He sidled up to her, not quite sure how to start talking to her, and he was quiet for a good long moment. ". . . Hi." Dorian gave the girl a shy smile, though it looked more like a grimace. He wanted to ask if the Professor was in, but there was just . . . he couldn't manage it. He instead opted to release Yogi and K. Rool, the Pokemon blinking as they were brought out into a brand new town, quickly scurrying over to their owner for shelter. Yogi, the Cubchoo, clambered up onto Dorian's lap, peering up at Nicole with what could only be called 'puppy bear eyes'. "These are my Pokemon." He always felt more secure with them out, like he had more power over his surroundings, and he smiled at Nikki again, this time looking far more relaxed about it. "I'm Dorian. What's your name?" ☄═━┈┈━═☄ Pokemon Roster

If I could be with someone ღ Nicole "Nikki" Frazer ღ like you,Would you...? Would you be strong enough for me? "H-hi." Nikki quickly returned the smile, blushing slightly from embarrassment since she knew she wasn't able to get all the dirt off in time. She bit the inner part of her bottom lip, looking around awkwardly before knocking on the door again. When she turned around, there was a Sandile and a Cubchoo!
She smiled at them, much more relaxed with them than she had been with their human trainer. She was rather good with Pokemon, they took a liking to her rather quickly. No one really knew why.
Nikki had a strange ability. She was able to actually communicate with Pokemon. She didn't know how or why, she just could. It kind of made her an outcast in school. All the kids thought she was weird, and because of that, she never really had any friends other than the Pokemon.
But she wasn't about to right now. She just met this kid. Think of it like a clean slate. If it meant she could have a real, human friend, then she would pretend like she had no such ability at all.
"These are my Pokemon."
She quickly looked up at him, a bit surprised that he was speaking to her.
"I'm Dorian. What's your name?"
"O-oh..! My name is Nikki..." She smiled again, still very nervous. "You have very nice Pokemon...! Um... how did you get them?" She asked, trying to strike up conversation while they waited for the Professor.
Oh, how she hoped they weren't late!

"Everything will be wonderful. Someday." Dorian Lombardi Trainer In The Making ☇═━┈┈━═☇ Dorian was emboldened now that he had started talking to the girl - she seemed nice, not at all like those girls at school that teased him for staying so quiet all the time . . . "Yogi was my first Pokemon." He wrapped both his arms around the Cubchoo's waist, hoisting the bear cub up, tickling the cub's nose. The Ice-type grasped his fingers, the boy used to the cold after so many years with the bear. "I got him when I was five - I kinda sneaked out of my house and made it all the way to Twist Mountain. I found Yogi here . . . his mum let me and him play, and then . . ." His eyes darkened slightly. "My dad came. He wasn't happy about it, 'cause he likes Flying-types, but my uncle helped me out." He brightened up again, not wanting to wear his heart on his sleeve quite so much. "And K. Rool I won on a phone in competition! Tybalt Zevon came to my house to deliver it personally! It was great." The dark eyes had given way to sparkles, the boy clearly on happier grounds now that he was talking about his Pokemon. Speaking of which, K. Rool had lost interest in nibbling on his trainer's trouser legs, and scurried over to Nikki, peeking over her leg at her in interest. ☄═━┈┈━═☄ Pokemon Roster

If I could be with someone ღ Nicole "Nikki" Frazer ღ like you,Would you...? Would you be strong enough for me? "Twist Mountain?" She asked, blinking a few times. "Where's that?" She asked, feeling a little embarrassed. Should she know where that is? "I-I'm sorry... I've never left this town before... so I don't really know anything outside of Route 1." She said, pointing to the entrance to the route with her thumb over her shoulder.
She felt the Sandile touch her leg and smiled at him, kneeling (carefully in her skirt) to pet him gently. His skin felt weird, much more different than the Pokemon she was used to.
"Wow, Tybalt Zevon, huh? That must have been awesome! Does he look like how his voice sounds on the radio?" She asked. She had frequented the station a few times, but never called in. She wouldn't have won, anyway.
It was about this time when her friends decided to come out of hiding. Patrat, Lillipup, Audino, Herdier and Scraggy slowly crawled out of the Tall grass and made their way towards Nikki, cautious with the newcomers but curious at the same time.
Although they made no sounds, Nikki smiled, as if she felt their presences behind her. "And these are a few of my friends... looks like they're a little curious. We don't get many new people around here." She said, motioning towards the group of cautious Pokemon.
"Patrat, Lillipup, Audino, Herdier and Scraggy." She addressed them, pointing to each accordingly. "Don't worry, come and say hi!" She told them, still petting the Sandile. After those words, it seemed they felt a bit more comfortable, nodding simultaneously before trotting over, greeting the two Pokemon.

"Everything will be wonderful. Someday." Dorian Lombardi Trainer In The Making ☇═━┈┈━═☇ Dorian blinked, not having realized quite a few people didn't venture outside of their own towns unless they had to - and unless you were an adult, usually, you didn't have to. "Oh . . . it's this big mining place. It's just outside of Mistralton City . . . up in the north?" While young Lombardi tried to articulate his home-town's location, K. Rool was enjoying Nikki's petting immensely, letting out what sounded like a croaky purr. "Saaaaaan~dile." Dorian grinned at the Sandile's reaction, scratching the little croc behind his eyes - his favorite place - as Nikki asked about the radio show. He nodded rapidly at her question, getting slightly breathless as he struggled to get all of his words out. "It really really was! He was really smiley - had all this shiny hair, too, and a beard to go with it - but he was really short! He didn't seem to mind that much, though, 'cause he was really really happy all the time." And Dorian really needed to stop using the word really. He was about to keep talking when he noticed the group of Pokemon that were creeping out of the grass - blinking, he thought that some of them didn't look like they came from around here, but his attention was quickly torn away from that irrelevant fact. "They're . . . your friends? But, you said you didn't have any Pokemon?" He didn't quite understand what she meant, but knew she didn't mean any harm - maybe she just muddled her words or something? He waved lightly at the quintet, with K. Rool and Yogi both letting out a cry as they said hello. ☄═━┈┈━═☄ Pokemon Roster

If I could be with someone ღ Nicole "Nikki" Frazer ღ like you,Would you...? Would you be strong enough for me? "I don't." She giggled. "These are just my friends. I've never actually caught any Pokemon in Pokeballs, so they all still live in the wild with their families." Smiling, she turned to look at the four, who yes, all lived on Route 1. They all smiled and nodded. "I don't really want to take them out of their homes, you know? They come visit me every day, though, and we've had a lot of fun over the years. I don't know what more I could possibly ask for." She smiled back at him as they all gathered around, still greeting and investigating, no longer afraid. Her voice was soft and caring. She wasn't exactly sure she understood this whole 'being a trainer' thing, since she didn't feel comfortable taking the Pokemon from it's home, but she figured that didn't matter.
"I mean, they all wanted to come with me..." She paused, suddenly becoming even more serious. "But if they came with me... then I wouldn't really have a reason to come back to this town..."

The opaque glass doors of the laboratory slid open. Behind them was a rather tall man, with small, round spectacles, short blonde hair and a labcoat holding a mug in his left hand and a piece of toast in his mouth. He gave a short wave to the two children, before removing the toast from his mouth and beckoning them to come in, waving the toast about. "Sorry for taking so long," he told them, his eyes focusing on one than the other. "Though it looks like you two have been keeping each other company, at least." He smiled warmly at them, before walking deeper into the lab, where there were three poké-balls nestled in a pedestal on a counter, two Pokédexes behind them. He took his place in front of the counter, beside his twin sons, Crimson and Cobalt. He was slightly ashamed of having them wait for a scheduled appointment, but the lab was, quite frankly, a disaster from yesterday's study and he couldn't have new trainers start their journey in a dump. "Well, miss Frazer, it's nice seeing you again." He laughed at what he was about to say, since it's likely that she already heard this once or twice already this morning. "Eleven already...it seems like it was only yesterday when you could be held in the palm of someone's hand. Now you're starting your journey..." He scratched the back of his head. "You do a good job of making me feel old without even trying," he chuckled. He turned his attention to the red-haired boy. "And this is the son of Irving Lombardi." He toned down his attitude slightly, but still retained his warm demeanor. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I am Professor Hawthorn, but you can call me Ewan." He extended his hand, shaking Dorian's. "You travelled quite a-ways to get here, didn't you?"He thought for a moment, before starting to speak once more. "I suppose if it's alright with everyone else, you can go ahead and choose your starter first." He gave another warm smile and stepped to the side, his two grandchildren following suite.

"Everything will be wonderful. Someday." Dorian Lombardi Trainer In The Making ☇═━┈┈━═☇ Dorian could sympathize with Nikki when she said she didn't want to take the Pokemon from their homes - he wouldn't have been able to hold on to Yogi if he hadn't seen his uncle catch her mother at the same time he caught the Cubchoo; he wouldn't have been able to bear the thought of the Ice cub being without his mother. "No reason to come back? But . . . it's your home, isn't it?" Dorian blinked at the girl curiously, waiting for a response when the door to the lab opened. The young Lombardi was quick to shuffle into the lab, holding the door open for Nikki and her Pokemon friends if she wanted them to come along, before joining the Professor at the counter. He couldn't really believe he was meeting him after so long - despite his father's best attempts at encouraging a love in Flying-type Pokemon had turned the young boy off that type, he hadn't lost his interest in Pokemon in general at all, and who could be interested in Pokemon and not know Professor Hawthorn?! The very tall man (when you're eleven and below 5'5", everyone seems incredibly tall) shook his hand, nodding somewhat solemnly. "My name's Dorian, Professor Ewan, sir. And my dad dropped me off." The young boy blinked when he was told he could go first - he sent a look at Nikki, practically asking her permission, before he stepped forward, walking up to the pedestal with wide eyes. "Snivy . . ." His hand hovered over the Ball on the left. "Tepig . . ." His hand moved to the center Ball. "Oshawott." He took the Ball on the far right into his hand, looking at it as if it were the Holy Grail before giving a resolute nod. "Oshawott." ☄═━┈┈━═☄ Pokemon Roster

If I could be with someone ღ Nicole "Nikki" Frazer ღ like you,Would you...? Would you be strong enough for me? Nikki bit her bottom lip a bit when she heard his question. Should she answer him? How could she answer him? She just met him, after-all.... and something like that just felt... a little too personal to be telling everyone. Although, it was kind of her fault that he was asking in the first place...
She was about to try and find the words to tell him a little bit of what he wanted to know... when the door finally opened and rescued her.
She hadn't been so happy to see the Professor in her entire life.
She bowed slightly to Dorian as he held the door for her, and made her way inside. Her friends, as usual, decided to stay outside. For some reason, they were afraid of the professor, no matter how much Nikki tried to tell them not to be. Maybe he just had that kind of... aura? Not a scary one... but the Mad Scientist one? Well, I suppose that is a bit scary, too. However, Nikki wasn't afraid of him. She had known him forever! And besides, she wasn't a Pokemon, so she didn't have to worry about being a guinea pig.
She blushed in embarrassment as he reminisced, saying the stuff a parent should have been telling her when she left the house this morning. Instead, she heard it from her grandmother, which she supposed was better than nothing. She then smiled apologetically when he said she made him feel old. Like he said, she didn't try to do it... and she couldn't really help it, either.
She then watched Dorian, giving him a friendly smile and nod when he looked at her. It was almost as if he wanted her permission or something.
She watched as he inspected the Pokeballs and, eventually, chose Oshawott. There was a part of Nikki who wanted Oshawott as well... but she figured that was probably only because it was super adorable! She was not meant to have Oshawott. Not yet, anyway.
So... that left her with... Snivy or Tepig, right?
She looked at the two, making sure it was truly her turn before she approached the remaining Pokeballs.
As she got closer, she began to hear them... their voices muffled by the confines of their capsules. Of course, she knew she was probably the only one who could hear them. She stopped, looking down at the two red and white spheres, seemingly lost in thought but really, she was listening intently.
She giggled a bit, seemingly at nothing to those around her. Of course, the Professor was one of the few people who knew she could talk to Pokemon, so he probably knew what was going on more than Dorian.
She then quirked an eyebrow, placing her hands on her hips as she tried to decide which one of them to take.
Although she didn't particularly like what it was saying, completely, she liked the confidence this one Pokemon had to say it. She could be making a mistake... but.... she picked up the Pokeball on the far left, anyway.
"I'll choose Snivy." She smiled, then wincing away from the Pokeball, using her free hand to rub her ear.
Was it truly a mistake? Well, he would definitely be a challenge. Nikki had never met a Pokemon who didn't like her, after-all.

These were just a few of the things Charlotte's mom had told her to try and make her feel better. xXx Needless to say based on Charlotte's frightened look, it hadn't worked. Professor Hawthorn nodded at the young Lombardi's choice. "Oshawott is a good companion," he exposited. "Most of them are a bit dopey, but they are all fiercely loyal." He gave the boy a smile before stepping back and letting Nicole listen to the remaining Pokemon. He watched her, fascinated, as she listened to them while they were still in the ball. He had always wanted to better understand this phenomena, as he had only seen it a couple of times. Though it would be incredibly unethical of him to ask, or give any hints of this to Nicole. He was trusted with the knowledge of her gift, and would would not treat her any differently, nor did he want to pressure her into something she wouldn't want to do. Still, it would be an amazing opportunity if she were to offer at any point in the future. Ewan was taken a little aback by Nicole's choice. Snivy's usually had an attitude problem, and this one was no different. To Ewan, it didn't seem to fit with Nicole's quiet and caring personality. He didn't express any feeling of disbelief, though. She had thought long about which one to take, and he trusted her decision. After a bit of thought, the professor also realized why it did actually fit her. A Snivy would provide a good foil for the girl. He didn't say anything to her; he merely smiled and nodded his head. His attention turned to the latest child to come into his lab. Still smiling, he introduced himself. "Hello Charlotte. My name is Ewan Hawthorn." His voice was suddenly soft and quiet, nearing Charlotte's volume, but still perfectly audible and clear. "This is where you get your Pokémon, though I'm afraid that there is only one left today."Ewan cupped the remaining ball in his hands, leaving his breakfast on the counter in its place. He approached the young girl. "Would you be interested in taking care of this Tepig? If not, if you come back tomorrow..." He trailed off. He didn't recognize her, so she must have come from a different town. He felt guilty for limiting her selection.
