[ *dies from the title* Any hoo! ]

"Dear father king, we should hurry to the lake, you should clean yourself. Chasing after honey always makes you sticky!" Shakespeare gleed happily as he directed his poor father toward the lake by gently pulling on his braid.

The two pearls had gone off on yet another honey hunt courtesy of Iris, the Pearl of the Herla. He was always eager in gathering some honey when other food sources didn't fit his fancy. Only this time around he'd had more than his fill and had gotten quite sticky. Making it hard to see due to his long tresses sticking over his face along with twigs, dirt and debris.

"You don't have to pull on me. I can find the lake myself." Says the pearl just before bumping into a tree. "Ah!"

"Of course, king father, please just allow me to assist for now." Shae chuckled softly as he continued toward the lake thankful that it appeared just before them within moments. "We are here! Do you need help to the banks?"

"I can manage..." Iris pouted trying to shake his hair from his eyes but with little success. "I'll be clean in no time..."

Titania lounges in the shade near the lake, chuckling as her son leads the white pearl down to the water to wash off. Ahh the summer sun was finally cooling down. She hated the Summer and had spent most of it in under the shaded trees, fairly uncomfortable but maintaining a sweet demeanor.

"Don't do too much damage to your father little prince!" she called down to the pair.

Further in the woods, Titania lead her son to the area near where she had grown up and her parents still stayed. Having run into her brothers, surely the word she'd started a family would be getting around and it would be better for her to formally introduce her children before they'd heard she'd had any. But as spirited as her children were, she'd only managed to round up Delphinium and sent Hyakinthos to search for their daughter Xanthe.

"Now Delphinium, you will use your best manners and be on your best behavior around your grandparents!" the hind lectured her son as they picked around trees.

Delphinium dragged his feet, head down, tail along the ground. He didn't wanna meet these damn stuck up grandparents. Behaving, he hated it, and he hated it even more when he had to do it for long periods of time. At least his sister wasn't there.

"Yeah at least no-a** isn't here too. Maybe I can get all the attention and become the favorite before a**-less gets here and they're all horrified by her!" he thinks to himself, grinning, razor sharp teeth flashing in his mouth.

Shakespeare nodded to his mother trying his best not to drag his father along but he was such a childish adult. Even his own kids had to direct and just about take care of him. Sighing to himself he wondered how this Herla had managed to take care of himself this far. Didn't he mention something about idolizing his big brother? Ah well, Shae had always wanted to meet the other side of the family, uncle Lazarus and his cousins and their kids but that hadn't gone over well. Apparently they were as black as the title given to that side...

"Hurry and clean yourself father..." He spoke half watching the other as he spotted his little sister coming to join the group. Trailing behind her was a yearling who didn't look all that happy to be here. Shae could only tilt his head to the side, he saw the color of hair sprinkling from his dark complexion. In almost and instant moment he moved to greet his sister. "How fairs the princess? And what of the young dark prince here?" Always with nicknames he instantly found it suited the youth.

Having been left to his own devices, Iris plunged into the waters making sure to get all the sticky goo off of his face and hair. He loved honey far too much, something he might have to cut down on. Looking at his reflection as the water settle he noticed he was putting on a few pounds. "Honey! Do you think I'm getting a bit fat?" He hoped not, maybe all the running around was giving him less of a feminine form. He could only hope but he never really felt uncomfortable for looking the way he did. He just didn't want to be fat! No no no no no!

Blinking away the water he noticed Shakespeare had run off a fair distance. Ah, it was Titania and... "Um... " Why did she have a yearling at her side? "Um.. honey!?" Skittering out of the water he quickly shook himself dry moving toward Farfalla's side. Did you know?

Titania moved in to nuzzle her brother. Del stopped, tilting on his hooves a bit to see past his mother and uncle. A beautiful white herla was splashing frantically out of the lake and rushing to a second beautiful white herla with rainbow hair. These must be his grandparents, but he'd never know he'd had two..grandmothers?

His ears were initially flattened back as his uncle called out to him, but relaxed forward at his new little nickname. Dark Prince, he liked that. He rolled his shoulders forward and grinned. "Hello Uncle Shakespeare." He did the bow the way his mother showed him.

Inwardly, Titania, relaxed just a little. Her son had been in a large snit about going to visit family, her daughter even more-so. But he seemed to have perked up a bit. Now it was time to introduce him to her parents.

Shae you must tell us all of the things you saw during your journey. Some of us are far too scared to go away for such long times and so far away...

Farfalla looked up as her son wondered off and as her mate called to her. "Mmm...?" she hummed, drowsy from the heat. The cool drops of water Iris flicked onto her as he shook himself dry pulled her back to her senses a bit.

"Knew about what..?" she followed his gaze. Ah, there was one of her daughters! Titania had come to see them, how wonderful! But then she looked past her daughter to a black yearling with blue-green hair who was bowing to her son. "Oh my...seems we are behind on the news darling." She slowly rose to her hooves. "Should go say hello to our grandchild shouldn't we..?"

Shakespeare smiled warmly, the yearling seemed well mannered. He gave him a quick once over, noting his darkness and the rainbow hair that only came from his sister and mother's side of the family. Definitely a dark beauty in his own right but he kept his opinion to himself. "Nice to meet you, um..." Searching for a name, he had never really been told the little one's name.

Iris shook the last of the water from his form, glad that his hair hadn't gone puffy on him like so many times before. With a shake of his head, his long golden braid shifted back over his shoulder as he moved over to his daughter and son. Looking down upon the yearling he tilted his head to the side then smiled happily. "It looks like we have another dark one in the family." He commented absently. "You are quite handsome young one, you remind me of my son Lotus; your uncle. He's dark like you." Nodding toward his daughter he gave a curt nod. "So I am to assume this meeting was to introduce little one here?" Looking around he gave a little pout. "Where is your mate?"

Titania blushed and shuffled her hooves a little anxiously. "Oh, Hyakinthos is on his way with our daughter, Xanthe. She is a bit, uh, spirited, and I could only find Delphinium when the time go to had arrived." She wasn't sure how to properly explain her daughter or her daughter's uh...unique body structure..."And his name is Delphinium, if he lets you, you can call him Del."

Del huffed, blowing some of his bright hair out of his eyes. "What mother is trying to say is that my sister has no backside and because of that she finds it a little hard to keep up with me and mother when we walk. Since father also was born with no backside, they...float along together."

Titania wanted to die on the spot, but was also grateful for the explanation. Delphinium had even framed it well and politely, and for a moment, she felt proud of her son.

Farfalla blinked. "No..backside..?" She exchanged a look with Iris. "And she..floats..." Farfalla wriggled her nose trying to picture the yearling. "Just what manner of mate did you find little rainbow...?"

Shakespeare didn't seem to understand the explanation so much. No back side? Hmm... with a slight shrug he just nudged his sister with reassurance. "Well no matter, the little princess is part of our bloodline no doubt she takes after you." He was certain, at least he hoped and even if she didn't have a back side she couldn't look like some of the other mutant fawns he'd seem slithering around the glen. The thought made him shutter involuntarily.

Iris tried to imagine the same thing his son but came up with nothing. Mirroring the other he just shrugged the thought aside and smiled upon his daughter with affection. "I'm sure she's as lovely as you and your mother."

Having only recently met his new niece and nephew, Lotus had decided it was high time he caught up with the rest of the family. If they had suddenly become mingled with the likes of Giratina, what other catastrophe could have occurred? Lotus shook his head and cut off that line of thought. How rude of him. Xanthe and Delphinium were wonderful. He couldn’t hold a grudge against their father and his line just because he’d come out a little worse for wear in a few meetings.

The dark-furred Herla arrived at the lake and was pleased to see a lot of the family already there. Wonderful. He wouldn’t have to do too much searching. He was a little disappointed that Lazuli was not amongst them. It had been so long since he had seen her.

He started forward slowly.

Titania paled a little when her father said that her daughter is just as lovely as she was, Del swallowed back his snort and laughter. Spying a bit of bright color and black, she looked up, thinking it was Hyakinthos, but instead, seeing her bother Lotus instead.

"Oh Lotus!" Titania was glad for the slight subject change from her children and mate. "It is so good to see you.." She smiled.

Delphinum looked about at all the herla that were related to him and Xanthe and snickered to himself. "Mann Xanthe's going to have a fit seeing all these pretty herla.." He though to himself wickedly. He grinned at Lotus, his sharp teeth all on display, making him looking far more menacing then he intends. He liked his uncle Lotus, he was darker and a good looking male like he was. "Hello again Uncle Lotus.."

Farfalla was distracted a little by the arrival of one of her mate's previous children and smiled to Lotus warmly."Lotus, it's so wonderful to see you again. It seems you have already met the newest additions to the family..you should tell your poor father about these things!" She scolded the hart playfully.

Shae was all smiles when he noticed attentions turning to his big brother, Lotus. He hadn't gotten to see the other for a while, it seemed everyone was busy with their lives. Which was a good thing. "Hello Fairy Prince...how have you been brother?"

Iris gleamed when Lotus showed up glad for the chance to see his oldest. "You look well son." he offered as a simple reply sure that Lotus had come from any number of travels.

Lotus dipped his head politely to them all, and then gave Titania a reassuring smile since she seemed just a tad flustered. “It’s good to see you too.” He smiled back at Delphinium, ignoring the sharp little teeth on display. He was a good boy, a delightful boy. Ahem. “Hello Delphinium. I’m glad to see you again so soon.”

His wings gave the slightest flutter. “Farfalla, always a pleasure. It had been my intention to spread the news, but it appears you’ve all beaten me to it.” He chuckled.

The hart looked amused when addressed by Shae, more used to being called a ‘fairy princess’ than a ‘fairy prince’. “I have been well. How have you been?” Lotus asked in reply as he moved forward and nuzzle his father’s cheek gently.

“Father. It has been too long.”

Delphinium wondered away from his mother and over to his Uncle Lotus and Grandfather..? He looked up at the beautiful herla with blond hair and pearls in his hair, listening to the conversation.

"Are you a hart..?" he blurted out. "Cause Uncle Lotus just called you "Father", so I'm really confused. You're too pretty to be a hart..." He looked at Lotus and murmured "Though Uncle Lotus is too.." His eyebrows furrow.

"DELPHINIUM!" Titania cried, horrified that he'd just openly say something like that out loud.

Del's head ducked and his ears flattened.

Farfalla laughed and nudged her daughter affectionately. "Now, now dear, it's a fair question. He doesn't know."

"You're right mother.." Titania sighed softly. "He just didn't have to ask it so...directly."

Iris' ears perked at the question, he took no offense to it, truthfully as Farfalla had said, it was a fair enough question. Chuckling softly he moved toward the yearling, nudging him slightly. "Can not a buck be beautiful?" he asked simply but then switched up. "I'm definitely a buck. I suppose I take after my mother's side." he wondered about that but left that open for question. "I hope my looks wont dishearten you too much."

Shae only stifled a laugh. It was bound to happen one way or another. Their father was far too beautiful for his own good, even he had wondered on a few occasions before those thoughts were solidified. "Father is truly enchanting but don't let it fool you dark prince..." leaning in closer he whispered. "He's still very much a child."

"I heard that..." Iris turned blue eyes to his son with mock irritation.

Like his father, Lotus was not at all bothered by Delphinium’s question. In fact, he laughed softly. “It’s fine Titania. I know very well I am somewhat feminine in appearance. Though not so much as father.” He flicked his tail playfully at his nephew. “I’d like to think I’m still pretty tough though.”

He smiled as he watched Iris and Shae. Clearly the two had a close relationship. It was a shame he did not spend as much time with his family to develop such a bond.

Del's chest puffed up at his uncle's words. Yes! A buck COULD be tough and good looking at the same time. His uncles were proof of that. "Well, for sure one of them was", he thought as he glanced back at Shakespeare. But he didn't know that uncle well enough to judge yet. He grinned his scary but friendly grin. "No, not at all. I think I will grow up pretty too! But I get made fun of because of my looks." His tone is slightly sulkie. "Specially by that b***h of a sister I'm saddled with.." he thinks bitterly.

Titania heaves out a sigh of relief that no one is offended by her son's openness. "Sometimes I think I'm not a good mother.." she quietly confides to her mother while the bucks talk among themselves. "He and his sister are so wild.."

Farfalla smiled and nuzzled her daughter reassuringly. "I know it must seem frustrating, especially since it seemed your children are of uh..a little more..well...they're not easily tamed types I'm sure." She says this kindly so that Titania will not feel badly. "But if he is a buck you loved enough to have children with, then I am sure he is a good buck despite his parentage, and I think that because you are half of them, they will be fine adults when they are grown."

"I hope so.." Titania says, casting a worried, weary, and tired glance at her son, who is still happily chatting with the other bucks.
