Crotalus cerastes (Horned Rattlesnake)
Also known as the sidewinder due to the way it generally moves through sand in the desert. Their venom is generally weaker than that of other rattlesnakes, making them somewhat less dangerous, but can still be fatal if not treated. Ect ect

Sorex sinalis (Chinese Shrew)
Stuff on the shrew here.

The Result
We know what the first thing you're going to notice is ... his eyebrows. Yes, he does have actual eyebrow ridges that extend towards his temples - this gives him a distinctive eyebrow crest with the hair growing from it. The mention of hair brings up another note - this tekimi is in fact warm blooded, though his body temperature is a bit lower than most. He gets chilly easily, but he won't freeze to death if he's not sitting under a heat lamp. He probably shouldn't hang out in Brom's room, however.

His skin is patterned, but not scaled. The patterns seem to follow markings where scales might have laid, interestingly, but it seems as though his skin never formed the little plates. His jaw is quite flexible, and he seemed thoroughly amused that the rest of us can't successfully unhinge ours. However, his lower jaw is in one section, not two, so the extension is strictly vertical.

This tekimi has a nose, but it is relatively small, and his sense of smell using it is relatively weak. However, he does have a long, forked tongue, as well as a Jacobson's organ - meaning that when he really wants to smell something, he does in fact exhibit a tongue flicking motion. At times, he may also show a flehmen response to particularly interesting or unsettling scents. This appears to embarrass him to an extent, as it makes him look "dumb." It also exposes the fact that he does have a set of back-curving, sharp teeth, as well as a set of folded fangs hiding inside of his mouth.

He does have a set of poison glands, but his poison seems to (thankfully) be diluted. He is also immune to his own poison. The level of toxicity isn't enough to kill humans, but does induce heavy nausea, pain, and disorientation. Theoretically. We definitely wouldn't actually test on any of the new immigrants.

And ... well, finally of course is the matter of his body. While his bone structure is mostly normal, this tekimi appears to have an extremely long spine. He generally walks with a bit of a hunch, and so far has been rather self conscious about this extended form, causing him to be a bit shy. The lack of strong support means that he is incapable of carrying very heavy loads safely, but it also gives him a bit more flexibility in squeezing into smaller spaces. His tail is non-prehensile, but he can control it well enough to use it as a support, if necessary.
