Hey everyone. I'm sure many of you have heard about the flooding that's hit New York state and Pennsylvania last week. Unfortunately the town my parents live in is one of the places that got flooded badly. My parents' house is in really bad shape, and even though they've been working on it over the last few days, it's damaged to the point that they don't know yet if it's even going to be fixable. Understandably, they're pretty devastated about it. They said even the cat is shaken up by it, since he was home alone when the flood struck, and had to hide upstairs by himself until my parents could get into the house to rescue him. Now he refuses to go downstairs at all... I can't really blame him.
This is also bad timing because I just moved out of state, so now I can't even be there to help. I'm trying to send them some good, positive energy, as that's all I can do right now. So I was wondering if any of you would mind helping by sending some good energy, thoughts and prayers their way.

I will.
I can relate. I was in Natchitoches, LA when Katrina hit. My Dad lives in Bush, LA a town about 70 mi north of New Orleans. He's disabled and was without power for 2 weeks. Fortunately his house didn't get destroyed and my grandfather had a generator that he shared with the rest of my family.
Anyway I'm familiar with the feelings you are feeling and I'll send some good energy toward you and your family.

I will send then all the luck and positive energy I can.
And, if you don't mind receiving blessings from other people's gods and don't mind sharing your family name with a random stranger over the internet I could also request my gods to send your parents some help.

@ Rmcdra - Thank you so, so much, I really appreciate that. I'm sorry you had to go through a similar experience, though it's comforting to know someone else can relate. I'm glad your Dad's house didn't get ruined, that's very fortunate. But being without power, especially while being disabled must have been difficult. sad
@ Ren LehCrow - Thank you, that's very kind. I don't mind blessings by other gods, but my parents are Christian and I'm not sure their exact opinion on the matter. They're pretty open-minded people in general though, so they would probably be okay with it. In any case, positive energy would be good, I know they need it. I'll PM you with some details if that would help.

Ugh. Floods are terrible. I know the pain, and I'll send whatever good energy their way I can.

Just thought I'd give an update for anyone curious.
My family is doing better, so thank you for all of your prayers, good wishes and positivity. My aunt has come to stay with them to help them clean and fix up what they can. My Grandma who lives nearby is helping, too. My parents are considering selling the house once it's fixed and moving out of the area. It's been flooded twice before, a few years ago, but this hurricane was definitely the worst, so it seems that was the final straw. They're still pretty frustrated with everything, but I know they'll get through it all right.
