Being a young adult is one thing that most adults say they never want to relive, but as the world would witness, that could get ten times harder if you are one of the special few who on their eighteen birthday learned they would transform into an animal. Maybe it would happen in front of someone, maybe it would happen while you were sleeping but either way, people started to change into all kinds of beasts. Of course, scientists wanted to experiment on these kids, and of course, their parents were terrified, but all of that ended with the started with the safe haven school, Nullam Genus College. The school opened it's doors just ten years after the start of the change in the select few, but has been a stable environment for young minds to go and learn how to control their new found power ever since. Of course, all the staff at the college are all transforming humans who have now learned how to control their beasts making them especially adapted to handle the children. The students who gradulate from Nullam Genus College are usually well adapted to normal life and among the highest intellectual people in the world proving each year to the world that they shouldn't be feared, but respected.
But you... You growing up knew they existed. You knew that there was always the slight chance for you to be one of those animal people when you turned thirteen, but that didn't keep you from the shock you felt when your eighteen birthday came around. Then like a black cloud overhead, you received this letter in the mail.
~۩~
Dear Parent or Guardian:
The faculty and administration of Nullam Genus College invites you and your Freshmen College student to our Annual Orientation Program on Wednesday, January 5, 2011. The program will start at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium and conclude at 9:00 p.m. Our goal for the evening is to introduce new parents to Nullam Genus College's mission, philosophy, goals, academic offerings, extra-curricular activities, student personnel services, building facilities, and accomplishments. Guided tours of the building will be conducted during which you will have the opportunity to learn about specific course offerings and speak with department representatives and students.
The transition from high school to college can be both exciting and challenging especially for your child who possesses a one in hundred million chance gift. Both parents and students have expectations, concerns, and questions about the ability as well as the college they are now attending, all of which will be addressed. We hope to ease this transition by providing information and assistance at our January 5th Orientation Program. Nullam Genus College is a vibrant community alive with the hum of exploration and progress. We are proud of our seven years tradition of academic excellence; commitment to the intellectual, physical, and social development of transforming humans; and to the fostering of an atmosphere of mutual respect and caring. The staff and students of Nullam Genus College are eager to share their spirit and programs with you and to welcome you and your child to our family. We look forward to meeting you at our Freshmen Orientation Program on January 5, 2011.
Very truly yours,
Elizabeth A. Higley Principal
John R. DeVincenzo Guidance Councilor
~۩~
Then without warning, you were forced to give up your entire life, to go live at this college for special teens like you, seeing as your parents had no other idea to do with you. Some kids were excited, others were scared, but most just felt like outcasts as they showed up that first day to Nullam Genus College in Cambridge, England, U.K. a month after orientation.

ßяιcε яιvεяą
BEEP, BEEP, BEEP, the loud beeping noise that seemed to be generating from a small black box across his room cried. He didn't even know what the ******** it was... wait… Oh yeah... The principal got him an alarm clock... How did he forget about that? Maybe because he didn't particular want to get up on time for school, yeah, that sounded about right. He groaned shoving a pillow over his head as he tried to hide from the damn thing, but it didn't work sadly. It just seemed to get louder than it already was. In fact not only did it succeed in getting him up, it forced him to walked over to it and unplug it completely from the wall before it finally stopped making noise. Apparently the snooze button had been disabled. The principal was definitely smarter than she seemed.
The black haired boy then moved towards his bed again thinking to himself that it was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen at the moment. But of course as soon as his body collided with the mattress it was like an instant signal when out to the principal and his phone was going off only seconds later. Now aggravated, he reached for the god forsaken device. "Hello?" He asked quite grumpy sounding. Though talking to someone, hell anyone, wasn't something he wanted to do at the moment he knew they would just keep calling back. He wanted to sleep, but everyone didn't quite understand that it seemed.
"It’s time for school Bry, plus you have that meeting with me in my office this morning remember? 10 minutes before school started make sure you are here, in my office. Got it?" The woman ordered dealing with Brice in a strict manner. Brice was a sophomore at Nullam Genus High, so the principal already knew very well that Rivera didn't like to be in school. He had been the troublemaker of the freshmen class, and the principal knew it was just because he had an extremely hard time living his old life behind, even if he didn't say that. He completely rejected all help from any other student or teacher. In fact the only one that seemed to be able to get through him was Ms. Higley. The young teen had even at one point been forced to spent an hour or so in the councilor's office every day after school, but that barely got through to him. Brice was very good at making it very apparently that he didn't do things he didn't want to do. If it wasn't for the fact that he was absolutely brilliant, he would have failed all his classes. His teachers last year actually tried to give him harder problems as make-up work to see if they could use it to convince him he needed to be in class, but it didn't work because he knew even the harder stuff.
"ughhhhhh, fine." He groaned before hanging up on the woman without warning. Of course, just because he listened to her sometimes, didn't mean he was happy about it. His small frame slowly lifted off the bed for a second time. He was about average height and thin, but he actually was quite strong, flexible, and agile compared to an average boy his age. Ms. Higley chalked it up to the fact that he could transform into a cat. Brice chalked it up to none of her damn business, but that was just the relationship they had. She pick, pick, picked at him, and he just pretended not to care until the point it annoyed him. The Councilor told him that if he ever wanted to make friends here then he needed to stop acting like everyone was beneath him. Brice called his advice trivial and him a shortsighted moron. It was safe to say, that Brice's opinions of everyone were a little harsh. Last year, he succeeded in make at least ten other kids from his grade cry and that was over half, and that isn't even including the ones that didn't come forward with Brice's mean words.
The black haired boy now up started his morning routine. Shower, dry off, put on new clothes, fix hair, put on his locket, then finally do a look over in the mirror. The locket was something special to him, but no one could ever get him to tell what it was from or what was in it. As soon as it was brought up, Brice locked everyone out even Ms. Higley. The locket was definitely the "Do not cross" barrier for everyone at the school, and everyone knew it. He actually attacked another student for even touching it last year. Ms. Higley was sure that whatever was in that locket was what was keeping him from truly opening up, but she didn't push at him with that, seeing as she wanted the boy to at least talk to her. His attire was as his usual black and white clothes. The first day of the new school year was no different, though he did decide not to wear black eyeliner today, probably because he was visiting Ms. Higley. She didn't mind, but she did encourage him not to be so dark.
It wasn't long after his little stare down at himself in the mirror that he was grabbing his messenger bag and heading out of his dorm room. The meeting in Ms. Higley office wasn't too bad, just her expectations for him this year. "Well as long as you understand all that, you can go Brice." She said leaning back in her chair a little nervous. He didn't want him going and scaring all the freshmen on their first day. Brice rolled his eyes a little hearing that basically saying of course he understood it. "Oh wait!" She added quickly remembering something stopping him at the door. "This year your student partner seeing as you can't get along with any of the other students in your grade will be a senior. I don't know which one Mr. DeVincenzo picked for you, seeing as he picked them this year, but I'm sure he made a good choice." She said but Brice only gave a grim face.
"When are you going to start listening to me and fire that idiot?! I can't believe you let him pick the person I have to spend the entire year with. He probably picked the absolutely fallacious person." Brice vented angrily at her, his eyes starting to dilate a little and turn into the typical shape of a cat's eyes. "Brice, calm down. You'll met your student partner in third period, and if you absolutely just can't find some common ground with them, I'll have pick someone myself, okay?" Ms. Higley said quickly fixing him before he really blew up. "Fine, but you better start searching now, because I assure you, I won't like them if he selected the person. He doesn't know anything." Brice grumbled at her, before storming off.
It was definitely just going to be another horrible school year at Nullam Genus College. Almost as if he’s Too good for this place. He’s not what you think But all on his own, Like a classy obnoxious cat who Quietly reigns over everyone.

Lilith "Lily" Carter xxxxx"I still can't believe that I'm doing this...after a year." Lily mutters to herself as she lays on her bed in her room at Nullam Genus. She, yet again, didn't sleep very well. Suddenly, her alarm clock goes off, sending her into a frenzy. "For goodness sake, why is that set so damn loud?!" She exclaims, alarm clock in hand, ready to throw it against the wall. It's not like she wasn't awake already. Lily looks in the mirror and almost laughs at what greets her.
xxxxxLilly's white hair was sticking on end in different directions. She was notoriously known for her bed-head, after all. Walking towards the mirror, the black streaks in her hair seemed to be the only somewhat tame things. Her bright blue eyes shone in the dim lighting of her room. Picking up her brush, she tackled the tangles in her hair one by one, finally taming her straight hair. She hated how much she looked like an actual white tiger. What with her natural hair colors being this way. "Ugh, now I have to go see the headmistress again...I just saw her yesterday." She mumbles, throwing on a black tank top over her well-endowed bosom and a short-sleeved white button up, leaving it open. She then searched around her bottoms and found a pair of black shorts embroidered with white zig-zags around the hem. Then she slipped on her black converse with white socks. She then accented her outfit with a light blue scarf tied around her neck where her markings were. She played with her snake bites as she thinks to herself, her eyes locking in on her scarf.
xxxxxHer scarf was the one thing she NEVER let anyone touch. Her markings had caused her so much turmoil in her past, and it showed in her personality. She always kept everyone at arms length throughout her four years of being here. Now that she was senior, she had finally been paired with another student. She had heard about this student, a sophomore with a nasty attitude. She had chuckled when she heard about this. Sounded just like herself. "If he doesn't mess with me, I won't mess with him." She mutters as she puts on her black eyeliner in the cat-eye style, accenting her eyelids with light blue, making her eyes pop more. Her pupils, since she mastered her animalistic powers, had permanently slitted. "Well, here goes nothing." She sighs. She knew she had stayed in late, and it was now third period. She didn't care, she knew mostly everything that there was to teach, anyways. Lilly really didn't know why they kept her here.
"Attention all students : Please report to the headmistress' office to meet your partners for the year. Thank you."
xxxxx"Holy buh-jesus!" Lilly screamed. She hated how easily startled she could be. Well at least she knew where to go now. She thought to herself as she starts trudged towards the headmistress' office, hands in pockets and watching the students around her.

ßяιcε яιvεяą
Third period. Ugh he dread it so much. He had been sulking the entire day so far and he honestly didn't expect it to get any better. One of the girls in his class actually had the nerve to ask if he wanted to do gymnastics with her this year. She knew he was amazing at it, which of course he was, but that didn't stop him from outright declining her offer harshly. He honestly could not figure out why everyone talked to him all the time expecting a different outcome than the last person. He hated people, he hated being around more than a max of two or three people, so classroom scenes had never been his thing. His parents actually even home school him for the longest time because of it. They wanted him to be happy, so if he didn't get along with the other kids that was okay with them. He wasn't completely mean to everyone. He just absolutely loathed people that didn't listen and therefore didn't get along with many people because they rarely decided to respect his personal wishes.
As soon as the bell rang, most of the other teens shot out of their seat running to see who they were paired with. Brice, however, gathered his things and formally walked down the hall calmly, strolling you could say. There was a part of him now that actually was afraid of who he would get, what if he got a douche bag and then found he couldn't change partners? Third block would definitely become honorary skip block that is for sure. Then out of no where as if only to prove his point, a bigger teen came up behind him and scooped him up making him jump furiously and started to hiss. "hahaha look at the little sour puss, Hey let's see if he can land on his feet like a real cat does!" One of the boys shouted tossing him over the railing of the second floor. There was only about four or five classes upstairs, Brice unfortunately had one second block. Of course by now the entire school had gathered to meet their partner so everyone looked up to see the black haired sophomore get chucked off the second floor.
Brice felt a jolt run through him as the feeling of touching nothing anymore processed in his brain. He couldn't transform, his cat form would just get hurt more seeing as it had easier bones to break. In a panic, he shut his eyes feeling for a second fear run through him. He never showed any fear around anyone. He always acted better than everyone else, there was no fear even factored in. In that moment, he was honestly terrified for the first time in a while... Could everyone see his face scared to die just then? No, he couldn't let himself just die! He just couldn't.
He felt his hands reach out and touch the surface of the floor, awaking him from his agonizing thoughts with mind numbing pain. He blanked. His brain shut down like as if it overloaded and had to restarted itself. The sounds of the worlds started to filter in to his brain a little hazy at first, but then they became clear... "Whoa!" "Holy s**t!" "Wait! I Thought he could only turn into a ordinary cat!" "Dude! he is a panther!" There was some kind of growl from something... wait... no that was him.... Why was he so loud? He didn't understand, but his wrist hurt. Then a familiar voice came to him. "Brice, you have to change back now..." It must have been his thoughts or maybe someone was saying it, he couldn't tell anymore. When had he changed to begin with? Nevertheless when he thought to change back he felt his body being picked up. Why did he feel so helpless? More voices where around him now saying things, but they were too loud for comfortable hearing so they just sounded like gibberish until everything when black in his mind again.
Ms. Higley and Mr. DeVincenzo had walked out the school office just as poor Brice was being thrown so they too witnessed the boy fall, press his hands to the floor, and push himself back as he turned into a panther. Ms. Higley must have been moving to him the moment she saw him landing seeing as she was calmly trying the sooth the frightened animal the moment it started to roar and scare kids back off it. "Brice, you have to change back now, it's okay now, are you hurt?" She hoping she could get through to Brice. She had seen people transform in times of distress, but she had never seen one jump species before. It both amazed and scared her honestly. As soon as the boy transformed back and fell to the ground, she pulled him in her arms. "Mr. DeVincenzo stay here and help get find the kids their partners. You!" She directed to try and get some of the commotion down, the 'you' referring to the boy who throw Brice over the railing. "My office now!" She continued before looking back down at Brice. He was completely out of it now passed out in her arms. She bit her lip a little standing up with him before remembering his partner. "Lily Carter! Come with me to the nurses office. You'll be sitting with him until he wakes up or I get back to him" She instructed the girl already starting to move off down the hall with him seeing as a number of things could have happen to him and he needed medical assistance obviously. Almost as if he’s Too good for this place. He’s not what you think But all on his own, Like a classy obnoxious cat who Quietly reigns over everyone.

Lilith "Lily" Carter xxxxxLily had witnessed that entire scene, having a front row view. "So this is the kid I'm partnering with, huh? A black panther. Interesting." She thinks as she watches him fall from the second floor, land on his hands, and the transform into his panther form. However, she had noticed the look of terror on his face before he transformed. "So, he can't control it yet. Only in a time of life or death, huh?" She thinks as she watches the occurrence in front of her.
xxxxxShe saw the same fear in his eyes that she had felt when at his stage. She knew what it felt like, since she had a similar frame to his. People really were idiots. Lily sent a very cold glare in the direction of the larger teen boy that sent a visible chill down his spine. She was known for her strength, especially being a tiger, and was feared throughout the school. The kid just tries to shrug it off, but one could tell in his footsteps that he was shaken.
xxxxx As the headmistress calls to her, Lily nods, readjusting the bag on her shoulder and picking up Brice's as well as she briskly followed the headmistress to the nurses office. "Tell me, Ms. Higley, do you think I was paired with him because he was so like myself at that stage?" she inquires. Brice and Lily were the same age, Lily was just more advanced, what with her background. She was forced to have to learn how to control her wild side, since she was raised basically in captivity. Lily looked down at Brice with a soft smile. She knew she'd have to work hard to get through to him, just like her partner had to with her.
xxxxxAs the headmistress set him down on the bed, Lily was at his side immediately, seeing as the nurse was a little tied up with another student. She brushed the hair off of his forehead and put a cold-compress in it's place. She also covered him up and made sure his temperature stayed stable. Changing from human to animal can do quite a number to one's body temperature. "Don't worry, Ms. H, I'll keep watch over him. He is my responsibility after all." She smiles again. Only Ms. H got to see her true smile, the one that reached her eyes. No one else had the joy of seeing that beautiful smile.
xxxxxWith a thankful smile, the headmistress leaves and Lily was left alone with Brice. She looked down at him and sighed softly, readjusting the cold-compress on his forehead. She then sat back in her chair and pulled out her sketchbook, doodling a bit while humming softly.

Ms. Higley sighed a little looking down at Brice. "I have no idea Lily. This is the first time I have ever seen him transform into a panther, he normally just turns into a small black house cat. Before this happen, he always was more deadly in his human form than in his transformation, but now I'm not so sure anymore." She explained before she walked into the nurse's office that was attached to the councilor's office. The thought rolled around in her head a little, and she knew that Lily had spent a lot of time in the councilor's office as well, so maybe Mr. DeVincenzo thought they would both find things in common. Maybe he thought they were straight each other out. Or maybe he just didn't want both their other partners seating around this year while they were being scolded in his office.
Her arms left Brice's body as she let him down then left him in the hands of Lily. She seemed to showing genuine signs of kindness today, so hopefully she wouldn't be making a mistake taking off to deal with the other boy. Regardless of the thoughts though, the woman left the two alone with the Nurse.
The black haired boy didn't come back to the world of the conscious though until a good two hours had passed and third period had already passed. The Nurse, of course, excused him from class as well as Lily on the condition that she go and get all the work from both of their classes for the entire afternoon. He had came to about twenty minutes after she returned from this chore and he was definitely not okay. He blinked a few times stirring from his sleep only to freak out. "Where the ******** am I!" Brice screamed not recoginizing the nurse's office at first. He was still out of it. He reached to grab the nearest object for protection or moreover a weapon only to find a severe pain in his wrist. He whine reacting his hand back closer to him. His right hand hurt more than his other for sure. He retracted back now pushing up against the headboard terrified again. Almost as if he’s Too good for this place. He’s not what you think But all on his own, Like a classy obnoxious cat who Quietly reigns over everyone.

Lilith "Lily" Carter xxxxxGrumbling lowly, Lily set out to collect all the things from both classes that they had missed. After sending glares towards a bunch of freshman who thought it'd be a good idea to flirt with her, she finally got back to the nurse's office. She walked over to the bed and set Brice's things down on the opposite side, while taking her things over to the other. She then sat and looked at him. He was not going to be happy when he woke up, Lily could tell that much.
xxxxxAs if to accentuate her thought, twenty minutes later, while Lily was getting into her book, she was only disturbed by the loud outburst from the boy on the bed. "Dude, chill!" She exclaimed, using an ounce of her tiger aura to permeate through the room, as she walked towards the bed slowly. "Brice, calm down. You're in the nurse's office. You took a nasty fall when those assholes tossed you off the second floor." She says softly, a purr in her voice to calm him. She hoped appealing to his feline side would reach him.
xxxxx"I'm Lily Carter, your student partner." She introduces herself quickly, motioning for the nurse to stand back She was going to try to do this herself, determination in her bright blue eyes, the slit for the pupil becoming more pronounced. "And you shouldn't move the right wrist too much. We were about to bandage it now." She says, moving just a bit closer, judging his reaction with cautious eyes. Was this guy going to be trouble like the last student partner she'd had?

τWE wear the mask that grins and lies, н αIt hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,— υ
ʏWith my mask, I am one of them. ʁ
ℓBut deep inside, I still feel empty, ʂ
σNobody can hear my cry at night. τ
ʁNobody can see the pain I am feeling. ♀·.¸¸.·For I designed my mask to be undetectable. ·.¸¸.·♂ A deep yawn left the brown curly haired freshman as he felt his feet drag under him. He felt so ridiculously tired from his lack of sleep now. He honestly thought he might just fall over and never get back up. His parents like the absolute morons they were, decided to book his flight at freaking 4 am just so he could not sleep on the plane because he was already up. Now it was about 2 in the afternoon and he was ready to just collapse, seeing as he really didn’t get much sleep the night before either. Not to mention he was going to be jet jagged forever probably. “Taylor Hurst?” A tall, well-dressed man addressed him at the gate of the school. A driver from the school had when to the airport to get him only about twenty minutes ago, so he had been waiting for their return. “Yah, that’s me.” Taylor said softly expecting him to be the principal or something otherwise he wouldn’t be the welcoming committee. “Nice to meet you, Taylor, I’m Mr. DeVincenzo. I am the school’s guidance counselor. I know you missed our little open house, so I’m going to be helping you find your dorm and such, as well as your student partner, who will also help you around the school,” He explained sounding completely official. “I have also already been informed or your-” Mr. DeVincenzo started, but Taylor cut him off knowing immediately to what he was referring to. “My what, My little ‘delusion’?” Taylor spat back at him obviously cranky from the nine hour flight and upset that the guy brought up that. Mr. DeVincenzo tried to stay something back in return to his harsh reaction to the subject, but it just made it worst. “You know what; I’m going to say this to you once and only once okay? So listen close. I’m not delusional. I never have been. The only people that are delusional are my backwoods hillbilly parents and anyone that ******** agrees with them. And if you can’t understand that, I might as well get back in that car and go back home.” Taylor hissed angrily at the man for being so ignorant about the subject. It was the freaking 21st century, not the Middle Ages and yet everyone treated him like some kind of abomination. The man let out a sigh; he seemed pretty stressed as well. “Okay Taylor, I understand, just… just please work with me. All the single dorms are filled now because we couldn’t reserve you one seeing as you were enrolled late. You’ll have to room with someone, and we don’t want to make you or them uncomfortable. Understand?” Mr. DeVincenzo informed the chocolate haired teen. The teen pressed his lips together thinning them out. “Fine, so you want to know, who to room me right. Well if you had known nothing about me before meeting me, who would you room me with?” Taylor asked wanting an honest answer as he put his hand on his hip. The man took in a deep breath letting the thought run through his brain as he thought about all the others in double dorms. He wanted to see if there any of them he could just make his student partner as well seeing as it would just be easier for Taylor to get use to this place if he wasn’t overexposed to a billion people. “Okay I think I know just who to put you with. Come with me, I’ll take you to your dorm right now, so you can get settled in and maybe even some sleep. You must be tired.” Mr. DeVincenzo said starting for the dorms. The building wasn’t that far off from the gate, so Taylor decided to just take all his belongings with the man’s help. They must have made it to dorm room 23 within minutes. They didn’t talk much; Mr. DeVincenzo very well noticed that he pushed Taylor a little too far, so he just kept quiet. He was going to keep quiet too, until there was a little more keeping him here than just the troublesome return flight home. Taylor seemed to be all too well with the silence as well. He was too tired to deal with pushy man anymore. “Here Taylor, take this key and use it for your personal use. Try not to lose it.” He said handing him the key off a ring of keys. He had keys to all the dorms. “Okay, Mr. D. Thanks for helping me with my luggage I guess.” Taylor said with a light yawn at the end of his sentence. “You are welcome, Taylor and don’t worry, I won’t tell anyone else about you okay? The only people that know are you, me, and Ms. Higley, who is the principal. I’ll go and explain the situation to her. No one is going to judge you like they did back home.” The man said softly getting a worried look from the boy. “I promise.” He added at the end getting a more assuring look. “Okay. Thank you for that too.” The brunette said before moving more into the room he would call his home for the next year and probably the years after that. “If you need anything, the office can direct you to my office, Have a lovely afternoon Taylor.” Mr. DeVincenzo said before leaving down the hall, his hand moving up behind his neck rubbing it a little. Hopefully everything would be okay with Taylor here now. Grayson Williams would probably definitely be able to help him though. He would have tell Grayson he got a new partner too. So much to do, and there only an hour before school let out. Taylor didn’t even unpack a little; he just moved straight to the empty bed and curled up on it sleeping the rest of the afternoon away. Like hell he was going to even attempt to go to school when he was this tired.

Brice breathed noticing the nurse confirming the location he now was finding himself. "Fall?" He asked not remember much of it, his brain actually blocked it out and he couldn't think of anything after being picked up. "They what?! How could they have chucked me off the second fall and me not remember any of it!" Brice yelled back like the white haired girl was mad, but not the angry mad, no he thought she was completely nuts. But what if she wasn't? Brice quickly reached up and checked his head for any swelling. Of course there wasn't which put him at ease at least even if his wrists hurt like hell. He really didn't pay much attention to the girl as he looked his wrists over for a moment. "No, Don't touch me! I don't want anyone at this stupid school to touch me. Safe environment my a**! You just told me that a kid tried to kill me, how do you know you aren't going to hurt me too." Brice continued to yell quite upset as he felt his wrist with his better one. It felt fractured at least, maybe even worse.
"If it hurts let me help you," The nurse offered before she tried to moved towards him with the medicine and bandages. "Get the ******** away from me!" Brice screamed his eyes turning to a sharp cat eye shape as a hiss started to come from his throat. The nurse immediately backed off, handing the medicine and bandages to Lily. "Please help him, if his wrist really is broken, it could start to remodel, then we would have to break it again to fix it." The nurse told the girl quietly so Brice didn't her. She didn't want to freak Brice out anymore than he already was. Almost as if he’s Too good for this place. He’s not what you think But all on his own, Like a classy obnoxious cat who Quietly reigns over everyone.

▨ԍɾαуsση▨⋆▨ωιℓℓαɱs▨ "Hey, isn't that the junior all the girls are talking about?" A girl whispered as a tall boy walked down the hallway towards the counselor's office. "Yeah! It is. Oh my god...he's so hot..." Another one answered. This just resulted in the boy rolling his eyes as he passed the two girls, however, just to see their reaction, he sent wink at them with his cerulean blue eyes. After a short "squee!" from them, he turned the corner, continuing to the counselor's office, a sexy-like smirk on his face.
Once in front of the door, he lifted a hand and knocked on the oak door that had 'Dr. DeVincenzo' written on it. After not receiving an answer, the boy sighed. "If the old man is going to summon me to his office, it'd be nice if he were there." He grumbled, while running a hand through his shaggy brown hair. He had to smile when the hair just fell right back into place. With a sigh, the boy sat down in the chair outside the door and sighed, pulling out a notebook as he began writing, like he always did.
After about thirty minutes, a well-dressed man stood next to him. "Well, Grayson, thank you for being here so promptly." Dr. DeVincenzo stated as he opened the door, waiting for the student to stand up and walk in. Looking up, Grayson just nodded as he stood up, straightening his black capris and his matching tie. Once inside, he stood in front of the desk. Dr. DeVincenzo did say that this was going to be a short visit.
Dr. DeVincenzo sat down at his desk, heaving out a deep sigh. "Well, I'll make this quick. As you know, you were assigned a student partner, correct?" Grayson just replies with a slight nod. "Well, turns out that this partner enrolled late, so he had to be assigned a room quickly." Grayson suddenly cut the man short. "So you're saying that I now have a roommate, right? And it just so happens that this roommate is also my student partner?" The counselor just nodded, while adding. "His name is Taylor Hurst, and he has an...interesting secret." Dr. DeVincenzo thought it'd be interesting to see if Grayson could find out what it was from Taylor himself. "Okay, that's all, right?" Another nod. "Alright. Thanks for the heads up, old man." Grayson grinned, watching the counselor's face get slightly angry at the insult. "I'll be heading back to my dorm now."
The counselor just sighed as Grayson walked out of the office before he could react. Grayson just smirked to himself as he tucked a lock of hair behind his ear, making his way to his room. "This ought to be interesting." He muses to himself, finally reaching his dorm room. "If I'm not mistaken, there's another's scent coming from this room now, so this Taylor must be in there." He thinks as he opens the door.
As Grayson walks into the room, he raises an eyebrow to see a younger boy laying on the bed in the empty side of the room. Shrugging, Grayson sighs as he stretches. "Guess I'll greet him or something when he wakes up." He muses as he plops down on his bed, pulling out his MP3 player and putting the ear-buds in his ears, pulling out his notebook he was always writing in. What he was writing no one would ever know, because Grayson never let anyone look inside of it. Every now and then, Grayson would look over the notebook at the sleeping boy in front of him, smirking slightly. "Cute kid." He thought as he continued to write.

τWE wear the mask that grins and lies, н αIt hides our cheeks and shades our eyes,— υ
ʏWith my mask, I am one of them. ʁ
ℓBut deep inside, I still feel empty, ʂ
σNobody can hear my cry at night. τ
ʁNobody can see the pain I am feeling. ♀·.¸¸.·For I designed my mask to be undetectable. ·.¸¸.·♂ Taylor stirred slightly hearing the noises of Grayson walking in and getting comfortable on his own bed. The poor teen had always been an extremely light sleeper, one of the many things he hated about himself. He had been hoping to get a dorm by himself seeing as it was extremely hard to sleep when the slight ruffling of the covers by a second party could drag him from his slumber. His mother, when he was little, used to call him her little guardian, because if anything when a miss in the house, Taylor was the first to wake up and find it. Now, he was some freak she had to put up with. At some points he was almost sure she made noise in the middle of the night just to wake him up. If it wasn’t clear before now, Taylor didn’t get much love from his parents, not after he decided to do what he did, but he did it. He still had a while to go with conforming back to normal society if that is truly what he wanted to do in the end. But two summers ago, he made a decision and as hence fore stuck with it. Though it wasn’t like he up and decided what he did. He had been thinking about it for the longest time. He didn’t ever remember feeling right the way he was before. Even if his parents didn’t agree with it, he felt better way he was now than before. Not saying he was completely happy with the way he was, but he felt better now than he did before. Taylor had laid there in a sleepless slumber until the scribbling and dull hum of the other’s MP3 just forced him to get up. Of course, Taylor knew it was his new dorm mate so he didn’t want to seem psycho or crazy to the other. Taylor really did care about what others thought about him as sad as it was. It was probably his other side coming out. Taylor, being barely eighteen and the way he was, he actually had partly developed a second personality. Taylor the way he wanted to be and Taylor the way everyone back home wanted him to be. It probably didn’t help that he was also a special transforming child as well. Taylor really was special all around. “Ummm,” He groaned ‘stirring’ from his sleep like he had actually got all the sleep he wanted. His crystal blue eyes blinking opening and scanning the room. Taylor’s eyes being quite spectacular because ever since he found he could change into a dragon, his irises could move like a blue flame. Most people described them as tantalizing and almost irresistible. The transforming human specialist he actually was examined by said it probably meant his dragon spirit was very prominent in him. The same eyes now locked onto the new person in the room on the other bed. Taylor body rolled over a little so that he was lying flat on his stomach to just watch the other. The boy was very…. Very… attractive. Of course, as soon as Taylor thought it he instantly regretted it. “********,” He cursed himself before getting up and moving in the bathroom to avoid conflict. It was a bad habit he carried from home. He used the bathroom to escape judgment, fighting, or just anything he didn’t want to deal with. As soon as the door was shut, Taylor breathed softly leaning against the door and locking it. He stared at himself in the mirror carefully looking for any excuse of a flaw. Taylor’s harshest critic was by far himself and his splitting personalities. “Why did you even look, you are supposed to like girls you freaking retard,” Taylor asked himself in the mirror as he looked at his figure. He was actually really thin, curvier then he would like to be, but he actually didn’t ever weight more than 120 pounds. “Did I eat today?” Taylor pondered softly looking at his stomach now. Probably not, but he probably wasn’t going to eat anyway.

Lilith "Lily" Carter xxxxxLily sighed deeply. Apparently appealing to Brice’s feline side in the kind way was not going to reach him. If it comes down to it, I guess I’ll transform. She muses as she urges the nurse out of the room and closes the door behind her, locking it. No matter what, she was going to get through to Brice. She, however, was not going to force him to the point of hurting him. That’d definitely have the opposite effect. Besides, the fact that Brice categorized her with the pretentious twits from earlier was somewhat insulting.
xxxxxWith a firm, yet kind voice, Lily looks Brice in the eye. Her own slit pupils in her deep blue-green eyes boring into his. “Brice, I have absolutely NO reason to hurt you. I’m your student partner, so why the hell would I do something idiotic like that?” She took a step towards him, ready to pounce if need be if he decided to bolt towards the door. “Now look, we have to get a bandage on those wrists of yours.” She didn’t break eye contact with him. “Trust me, I know more than most that there are people here who get a sick satisfaction from tormenting those who they deem ‘different’, or ‘freakish’, just because they have markings that they’ve had from birth, or have a small frame. I know more than most that there are people everywhere out in the world that try to force their way onto you, not caring about a ******** thing you say. So just calm the ******** down and let me bandage your wrist.” She took another step towards him, but showing him that she was not going to touch him unless he let her. In a softer voice, a bit of her usual sad tone showing through, to her dismay, as she says, “Please…?”
xxxxxThe more she said, the more her past flashed in her mind, causing a low growl to come from behind, her eyes flashing in feline dominance. To the un-trained, they’d just feel an angry aura coming from behind Lily. However, to anyone who could transform into a feline, they’d see the white tiger behind her, the form her soul took, wrapped around her lower torso, staring at Brice. It wasn’t threatening Brice or angry at him; the gaze was more a comforting ‘trust her’ look in the tiger’s blue-green eyes, same as Lily’s eyes.

▨ԍɾαуsση▨⋆▨ωιℓℓαɱs▨ As soon as the boy had started to stir on the bed across from him, Grayson had stopped writing, observing his new student partner and roommate. ”Hm, those are some very interesting eyes.” He thought, then as soon as the boy was up, with one look at Grayson, he had dashed into the bathroom. This caused the older boy to raise an eyebrow. ”Well what the hell…?” He mused out loud, shrugging. ”G’morning, sunshine.” He called out to the boy in the bathroom. “You do know that we have to talk sometime right?”
While waiting for the boy to answer, Grayson laid back in his bed. He hoped that things weren’t going to be like this all the time. That’d be so boring. Besides…was he really that ugly that the boy had to run into the bathroom to avoid looking at him. In truth, though all the girls fawned over him, Grayson was very insecure with his looks. It was probably from the constant verbal abuse he had constantly gotten before he had come here.
With a shrug, Grayson just sits up on the bed and looks at his watch. It was almost dinner time. That Taylor boy better be out of there by then if he wanted to know where the cafeteria was, at least. ”Yo, Taylor, I’d much rather introduce myself face-to-face, but I’ll do it through the door if need be. It’s almost dinner time, and I’m sure you’re going to want to know where all your classes are going to be, right? C’mon, man. Just open the door already.” He sighed. He’d wait five more minutes, then he was going to leave.

ʁNobody can see the pain I am feeling. ♀·.¸¸.·For I designed my mask to be undetectable. ·.¸¸.·♂ Taylor groaned from the bathroom. It wasn’t that he didn’t want to meet. He really did want to, but what if the other didn’t like him? Or even worse what if he found out what he really was? No one ever liked him after they found out what he was before. In fact, just knowing him before his life change was enough to hate him now. Taylor frowned slipping down the counter and staring at the door with fears just piling in his mind. That sexy chunk of man was out there pleading with him to come out, and he couldn’t even comply because he thought he was too ugly. Taylor didn’t take to well to being told it was near dinner time either. How was even supposed to even think about eating around that guy? He was skinny, gorgeous, and probably flawless personality wise too. Taylor breathed deeply hearing his voice again. He even sounded beautiful. Taylor crawled over to the door and slowly unlocked it. “I’m not hungry, I promise, but you are right. It would be rude to not meet face to face.” Taylor said back weakly. He didn’t sound like he had any faith in what he was saying at all. Taylor brushed some of his curly brown hair out of his face as he opened the door from the floor. He definitely didn’t want to stand up. It would mean leaving the bathroom. “My name is T-tal, OH! ********, I can’t do this” Taylor leaning out the door against the frame until he saw the pose that the other was in. The dark haired man was staring right at him, and climbing off the bed in the process, but damn, Taylor didn’t know anyone could look that sexy doing that. Taylor’s whole face flushed up as he retreated back into the bathroom and hide against the wall not wanting to lean out and get the door. He knew he wouldn’t be able to keep his eyes off the other guy if he even had the chance to look back in the room. “I-It’s not y-you, I-I-I n-not g-o-od,” Taylor breathed into his knees as he hide his face away from the other so he didn’t see his blush of a thousand different shades of red.

▨ԍɾαуsση▨⋆▨ωιℓℓαɱs▨ Grayson tilted his head to the side, blinking. Why was the younger guy blushing? Grayson wasn't especially good-looking...right? With a soft smile, he stood up and walked into the bathroom, sitting on the floor in front of him. He thought it was kind of cute, actually that Taylor was blushing so hard.
"Well then I guess I'll just come in here then." He grins at the boy, showing him that he was not teasing him. Grayson then reached across and ruffled the boy's hair a bit. "No need to worry about me judging you, kid." Grayson's face then went serious as he added. "Everyone here has a secret they're insecure about, and don't worry I won't pry, but...I'll find out sooner or later, since I am your student partner." With another kind smile, Grayson held out his hand.
"I'm Grayson Williams, a junior here at Nullam Genus. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance." Grayson introduced himself gracefully, locking eyes with the boy in front of him, hand still in the air. Grayson's cerulean blue eyes, one would notice, had a swirl of gray in them that just screamed out "loneliness", but then, that was probably because people just ogled at Grayson, and never tried to actually talk to him. He hoped this boy would be different.
