I think it looks good together. The colors go well with the leather. I don't think it looks stupid at all. heart

Thank-you dear. heart
I'm still kinda leery about going out like that but I want to wear both the leather and the wings at least once (given the amount of $ spent on 'em sweatdrop ) and that's the only way.
I've got a pair of black and purple angel wings but I'll have to actually build/sew something for them if I want to wear them. They're heavier and too big to thread through the vest thing.
Ah...and to wrap up the saga with my studio and the mold we're getting like 1300 bucks for the "damages to the house" and loss of items. This is combined and won't cover even one of the problems. (Like a grand of that was attributed to the items.) But I guess I should be pleased to have gotten anything at all.
Still, I feel like I've been punished for keeping my possessions nice for years and years. The "newest" thing(s) that was/were covered = the books, the youngest of which I think was 2003.

I think it looks just fine, especially if it is your only option for using the pieces you want.
I'm sorry you didn't get more insurance money dear. I feel like you would have had to of had each item individually insured in order to get money for them. That's how insurance companies like to work you. They'll cover the damage to the house (if that) but nothing else.

I actually thought it looked pretty...I mean I'm not a big fan of tapestry stuff (no offense...tend to think of old curtains and sofas) but I actually thought it looked quite good together.
And that really does suck. I mean...I'd have thought they'd at least cough up for the money to fix the problem.

Moot point I guess. I'm not going to Faire this weekend. H didn't feel like going yesterday and today he's taking the puppy and leaving me here to clean. And I can't even get mad 'cause I desperately need to clean. I'm just freakin' stupefied.
And see...they don't cover the damage to the house. Not where it counts. Plus they deemed the damage to the rest of the place not really in need of repair. I can't even talk about that. It's just too stupid. 'Cause we can't afford to do what needs done so while it stays in that condition (or rather grows worse and worse as time goes by) this has already been claimed and therefore we can't claim on it again.
And as far as the items go...it's like I've been punished for keeping my things nice. We got the itemized breakdown in the mail yesterday. Lemme give you some highlights:
I had 6 perfect condition unworn tee shirts among my things for when I finally found time and inspiration to try my own screen-printing or painting. They were 9 years old but with no wear and no wash and decent storage they were like I said perfect.
"Original value" $12...adjusted value: $0 Long summer dress, 11 years old, perfect condition. Original $20...adjusted $2.
I lost 3 game systems in this. 2 consoles, 1 handheld, like 9 games between the 3 (and one of the system's games cost $50 and up.) I think the adjusted value for all of it came out to around $30. Just the consoles themselves were about $400, still in working order with all parts present and accounted for. Same with my games. I don't mess around with electronics.
Now we all know I'm a witch (except the insurance company) but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a good Bible now and again, especially if it's ornate and illuminated and yadda...I had one of those. Given shortly after I was born. $50 then. $25 bucks. Not bad really but come on!
Antique wooden dominoes. Adjusted to $2.
Signed copy of Running with the Demon (which btw, I'd never read) $9.
I did decently on my books if you don't take into account the deductible ( crying ) but the fact of the matter is most of them had no wear on them at all. My books were important to me. Fiction can't be obsolete. Things go out of print, subsequent editions change the value of the original editions. Books like mine don't depreciate. Unless of course they're destroyed...
I think the thing that makes me want to laugh hysterically until I start crying and then stop again is my grandfather's wallet. They knocked decades off its age, set the value at $35 with a depreciation of $31.50 for a final value of $3.50. You know...the very last thing I have of my grandfather barring 2 newsprint-type paper photographs in a ruined frame. It was handmade and hand-tooled for him by one of the great-cousins or whatever you'd call him. I've had it forever.
Granted I expected no assigned value for it at all but what they did with it is just...there is no word.
As I understood it the mattress for my daybed was supposed to be involved in all this and Sue knew about it so I didn't need to list it. Guess what's not on the list? Yeah...and I gotta throw the thing away because of my allergies. There's no way I can get the mold out of that thing enough to make it safe for me to be near it for any amount of time let alone sit or lay on the thing.
In any case all this counted for two claims so they subtracted the deductible twice which pretty much ate up the "settlement" as it were. For this mess they could've saved me two weeks of work, handed me a $20 and told me to bend over.

Thanks.
H has to make a call today or tomorrow to clarify something. There may be a sliver of hope. It's possible that if we replace these things we'll be reimbursed if we can present a receipt. But it's unclear as to exactly how much or what the terms are. (Or if he's even reading it right.) Soo...I could get my boots replaced...though not with a pair that's going to last me 20 years and still be serviceable like the last ones. Everything is disposable these days.
I wonder if I'd be able to replace one of my game systems with a 3DS. ^_^ I do ever so very much want the new Street Fighter game.

Well I hope he gets it clarified. I mean, if you can get things replaced and be reimbursed that's going to be pretty awesome

Agreed.
Though call me jaded but I'm more than half sure this is another trap to screw us. It's touchy since we'll have to work directly off the "settlement" for the most part.

*muah* heart
Sue said we could. Price of the upgrades has to be "within reason" and that right there is what keeps me feeling cornered and bitey.

Changed images in the first post. Tried on the whole thing yesterday...less the jingly wrap that I probably won't wear.
Man, I should've known I was putting on weight again...given that my boobs are back. XD
