It appeared to be just another normal day. It was actually five years ago to the day that I had graduated, but I didn't think that mattered. I started cooking my breakfast and didn't think anything of the neighbor yelling down the hallway, it always happened, just a little quieter usually. I showered and got dressed and walked outside my apartment. That's when I saw a glint and looked over. There was a knife with the holder behind a door and the neighbor girl on the ground out in the hallway. My reaction was exactly what happened, I kicked the door so hard it broke on the holder's body.

That's when I looked at my high school bully on the ground surrounded by the pieces of the door that had shattered on his shoulder. He still looked dazed, saw me, and wrenched his face with utter rage. He started scrambling through the wood chunks for his knife. I picked up one of the pieces.

He had just saved my life, this random guy, from my murderous abusive boyfriend. Whoever he was I'm so thankful he came in at that exact moment. My boyfriend picked up his knife again as the guy was swinging a piece of the door like a golf club. It connected right on my boyfriend's chin and sent him backwards a good foot or two. Then the guy bent down and grabbed the knife and walked up to my boyfriend and stood over him. I honestly thought he was going to kill my man! But all he did was stab the knife in the ground next to his head, and said,"You tormented me five years ago, but I won't kill you because you don't deserve the time of day from me. You've killed my soul before, but I've gotten over all the crap you pulled." then he took another board and slapped it across Brent's face, knocking him out this time. That was it officer.

"Thank you for the information," said the detective

"Hey neighbor, Thanks!" she yelled down the hallway at him, thankful forever.
