I freeking hate fungus. How is it that I do everything right, have my tank understocked, heavily planted, I do my weekly 50% water changes and gravel vac's, yet my Honey Gourami now has some sort of mystery fungus gonk
I've got him QT'd, and I'm treating him with Betta Revive meds (treats protozoan, bacterial and fungal diseases and can be used in small amounts of water), I didnt have luck with this stuff the last time I used it, but I think its because I miss read the directions, and wasnt dosing it right >.<
He's in a Lee's Double Betta Keeper (holds 8 cups of water. Not ideal, but workable, I guess...), with 4 drops of the Betta Revive (1 drop per 2 cups). He'll get daily water changes, and the treatment should only be the minimum 3 days, as the fungus not very advanced yet. We'll see how this goes....

Even the best keepers get a fluke every now and again, is all I can make of it. xP Doesn't make it any less frustrating, though!
Hope the fungus goes away. I bloody hate the stuff, too.

He seems to be taking the treatment well, but the treatment doesnt seem to be working. I still think this Betta Revive crap doesnt work, buts its all I've got...

That sucks! I've never dealt wiht fungus at home, but at work we use a medication called API Fungus Cure. It seems to work pretty well, it's some sort of dye-based medication with acriflavine. Of course, it turns the water a sort of freaky radioactive green, so you might want to try using it only in the QT tank.

I'm using what I have (hurray for being a poor college student!) :/ So far, its not working. He looks horrible today, and did NOT like his water change. It seems the fungus has spread under his chin, so this stuff obviously isnt working. I probly just put him down and buy a new fish... sad

Ok, now I'm mad.
All my Tetras have it, and I'm hoping my new Ram doesnt get it. Went out and bought some Kordon Rid-Ich. Lets see how this works...
