Well I've got about 3,400 songs rated on Launch Cast on yahoo instant messenger so I simply listen to that and it plays based on my preferences.

Right now it's mostly Clannad. But the day before I looped a CD of rather unknown artist, Pati Yang, and listened to it all day long. A REALLY hitting and inspiring piece wink

I like J-pop and other bands like red hot chilli peppers, pink floyd, blue oyster cult.. and when I hear someone say they like a song I dont know of I got to www.youtube.com lots on music to listen to there....

well i like all types of music. yea i'm a band nerd. i really like the genre New Age. it's almost like psychiological type music. it really helps me relax. then like listening to the orchestra's and i like any type of rock and oldies.

I don't listen to music when I want to be inspired. Then I end up either not writing or writing lyrics to that beat and rythm. And I don't want that. mostly I right when a line or two comes to me. Sometimes a whole verse or chorus does. It usually has to do with what I'm thinking, or what's going on in my life. Sometimes I try to write about one specific thing. I find that hard. But it's getting easier.

But it's getting easier. Some people write lyrics first others write the music first. If you do either it might be a compromise of one for matching the other. If you're really talented (as I've only had inspiration for songs with lyrics and music together in about two or three dreams only in my lifetime) then you write the music and lyrics together as a single artistic work. It takes patience and hard thought and work a lot of the time, and sometimes it just happens in inspiration.

Nightwish is really cool. Pity that the lead singer Tarja has been fired from the group due to certain unhappiness among the group members. Heard of Epica? They are a fresher alternative to Nightwish. They produce original tracks. Give it a try. I recommend a track called "Cry for the Moon". biggrin

The cure, the smiths. The song everybody want to rule the world by tears for fears actually.. when i put that on i just flow with stuff!! it works well, i think its to do with its rythem or something.
