"To destroy the single greatest threat to democracy, no civilian in this county should be more powerful than the law."
[Enter Deathstroke and Apex from Latveria]
The night brings many memories...it's silence permeates the soul of the one who traverses its shadows, who allow themselves to exist in its presence and become absolute in its grace...As the man known as Slade crossed through the city of Arkham, his visage of darkness hidden in the blackness of night, his memories trailed back to before this Galactic merging...and could not remember anything before he returned...
It gnawed at him at how he could not remember anything about how he vanished...how he returned...the only thing that gave him this clue was the ring he held in his hand. The ring, of which came onto his person by unknown means when he reappeared in this world, had properties in its metal that were very strange, though through research he found that it mirrored that of the Power Rings, the metal being able to hold a charge of different types of energy...with enough power, he knew he could use this ring for his own purposes...but one would not be enough. This one currently was powerless and thus was a dull grey color, its symbol missing, waiting to be signified...
He made his way to this Ore processing plant, having tracked down a shipment of specific ores and metals that would help him construct his own rings for his own ends. He knew somewhere behind him, Apex must be in the wings, watching and following his master...
Soon enough they came to the massive, burning factory, the machines hard at work at processing, smelting and separating the ores for shipment and for use in other factories. Few guards were present, or awake at this hour. Slade was careful to first enter through the roof station, using the ventilation system to put himself at the observation area, the vent hatch just above the spot where the security guard sat, looking at his computer screens for activity...
In one, fell swoop, Slade leaped down onto the hatch cover, breaking the knuts from their place and opening the hatch, sending him below and crunched his feet down onto the shoulders of the guard in his chair, pushing him backwards and kicked him across the face, knocking him out cold...
Two security guards, one to his left side, and one by the door, were beginning to draw their weapons, their eyes wide with shock. Slade twisted to his left, flinging him into the guard's path as he drew his weapon, placing his back against the guards chest as he forced the guard's weapon arm up and forced his weapon into the sights of the other guard, shooting off a full clip into the guard at the door, dropping him...
When finished, Slade then gripped and heavily twisted the guards wrist, snapping it in several places, causing the guard to drop his empty gun as he cried and Slade elbowed him in his stomach, deafening the cry causing the guard to double over as Slade twisted his arm further, bringing it sideways along him and flipped the guard forward onto the ground, then quickly rising his right foot and brought it down hard on the guard's chest, crushing his rib cage into his heart with his heel, the sheer force causing the ground to crack from impact...
Slade, finished with the three guards in what was less then fifteen seconds, twisted his own neck until it made a few loud pops, sighing as he rolled his shoulders and moved out of the way of the vent, calling to Apex, "All clear..."
"That's what keeps the order. That's what keeps us strong. I'd rather die for my country than be saved by an abomination like you."
