He seems very intrigued. I would highly recommend him to look in to resources other than wikipedia, as there are differing views on the subject. An example of this would be the origin of the title steampunk. Some say it's a tongue-in-cheek reference to cyberpunk, others say it's based off of the original definition of punk with steam added on the front of it due to the steam driven nature of most of the contraptions (I prefer the 2nd ^_^).
I look forward to seeing another one of these after he learns more!
Of course, the more he learns, the more he'll love steampunk ^_^.
