Just wondering how many of you plan to attempt NaNoWriMo this year. I'm going to try it for the first time and I'm curious about who else is doing it. Also, if you want, you can post updates on how you are doing.

Well, I've been thinking of trying it again. I've participated twice before, but unfortunately on both of those times I've had really bad luck with me - my laptop broke down on November 4th (yes, both times on that exact date), meaning that I couldn't continue writing until I got it finally fixed about ten days later, at which point I was starting to run out of time... And I eventually gave up.
After that, I haven't participated in four years now, but maybe it would be a good time to do it again. We'll see how it goes. Let's hope my laptop won't fail me this year!

I'm doing it again for the third year. Last night I just finished a very general outline. Filling in the gaps this weekend and then looking to do a more specific outline next week. With any luck I can go straight into writing midnight Halloween night.

I participate last year. That is where The King's Ransom came from. And I am going to do it again this year. This is my third year doing it. The only problem for this year is that I have to keep up with my school work and that cuts down on my writing time.

I'll be participating for the first time this year.
I've got my story, and I'm working out plot details.
I should also completely fix my computer before I do anything major sweatdrop

Doesn't seem like a good start for me.
1) I still have no idea what I'd actually write about,
2) But nevermind the point 1, because I haven't had time to write anything anyway! Been babysitting my nephew all day. Great.
Seems like Fate has really decided to not let me finish a single NaNo story in my life. gonk

I took my laptop to class and wrote.
I'm still writing, but it's going to be more difficult because I have a piano exam coming up soon.

No idea how far I am, but probably not far enough. Can't keep track of my word count because I have to write by hand with a pen and a notebook.  Now I just wish my English was good enough that I could write my story in that instead of using my own language. Would be a lot easier to reach the 50k. But then again... oh well, I'll never manage to finish this anyway, so I'll just keep writing. : P

Arrowlake Riddler Now I just wish my English was good enough that I could write my story in that instead of using my own language. Would be a lot easier to reach the 50k. But then again... oh well, I'll never manage to finish this anyway, so I'll just keep writing. : P According to my friend who's been participating in Nano for a few years, a group of people decided to start an unofficial event for December. They call it NaNoFiMo (National Novel Finishing Month) for those people who didn't get to finish in November.
