I'm an English major, so you'd think I'd be right up there loving all of the classic authors and everything...having those high literary discussions or whatever. No. Honestly, the more of this stuff I have to read for school, the more I wonder why I haven't made it as an author yet! xd
I don't want to do this homework! crying gonk

The classics don't seem so classic?

Something like that. Maybe I just don't see what's so great about them. I am a fantasy/sci-fi fan, after all... I want an awesome plot with memorable characters and either action or psychological conflict, and if it has to have an unhappy ending, then it should be delivered as a powerful, gut-wrenching twist!
I don't want a story that meanders through to deliver its important messages and symbolism, ending on a note that will make me feel like curling up in a corner and giving in to despair. gonk
