Stephen King's Bag of Bones in December!! Miniseries?? I don't know but I'm excited!! Such a wonderfully creepy book. I got one of the very few audio versions originally released in this region. And I'm not sure how but I ended up w/2 copies of the actual paper book. XD

A&E, Dec 11-12 (yeayz my birfday) 9/8 Central. (6 p.m. PST)
Micro-mini. I'm not sure how long these installments are going to be but if they're less than 3 hours apiece they're going to chop this thing to pieces. crying For realz...it took me less than 6 hours to read the thing IIRC. But when it comes to King I read really fast. The whole Green Mile saga took me just over 4 hours and that included a crying jag.
Warning: Creepy...

Sadly never read any of Stephen King's books.
But that does look pretty creepy; if we get it over here.

Now see, you're missing over 3 decades of riveting fiction. crying The Dark Tower series alone (without tie-ins seemingly comprised of half of the rest of his body of work) is a don't-miss.
But maybe I'm not allowed to talk anymore. I've missed everything since the comic books started coming out. sweatdrop I have Under the Dome and that baseball one from last year but eh...
Mich>YeaY!!
H is leaving with B in about a half an hour. Poor boy is just distraught over no food and water. He's been sucking the moisture out of a throw rug we have on the deck whenever I take him outside. It's been a roller coaster of a last few days for him. He got a bath which he loved (probably 'cause mom put a singing rubber ducky in there with him. XD) Then he met the vacuum which he did NOT love. All 40 lbs of him sprang into my lap like tree frog. Too bad I was playing Zelda at the time...

You mean The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon or is it a different one?
I really liked Gerald's Game. Dreamcatcher was okay. King has a tendency to kill the characters that I deem my favorite in his books.
At least he enjoys a bath versus you wrestling with him in the tub.

I will eventually get there, i just find such a large volume of works a little daunting I suppose.
And the fact he likes baths = win! And most dogs dislike the hoover.

Nuhuh. Tom Gordon was years ago. Blockade Billy is the one I mean.
Man Gerald's Game is the only book so far to actually paint such a vivid picture of something as to make my skin crawl--let alone to the degree where I had to toss the book and run around the house until the heebies stopped. (When she's getting out of the handcuff. *SHUDDER*)
King does that on purpose though--the character killing thing. He deliberately designs someone loveable, makes you love them and then WHAM. Outta there. I've noticed a lot of authors since he came out with that tidbit of information trying to do the same thing. sweatdrop But you know what they say...forewarned is forearmed. XD I go in now w/my feet planted. I don't like nobody nor nothin'!
Another one I really liked was Insomnia. (Who am I kidding, I like them all and the longer he goes on the better they get.) 'Course after reading that one I swore I'd never cut another flower again as long as I lived. (Barring for the health of the plant, of course.) And Rose Madder. Rose Madder was...wow. Toss out the Dark Tower stuff though and my favorite is Lisey's Story and holding.
ME>If I was to try to get you to get started (and you're not too squeamish) I'd say first, watch The Green Mile. If you like it, read the book. If you're not hooked after that, King is not for you.
Well, I'm not sure if he likes baths yet. He likes to go swimming in the water bowl which is what prompted the bath. His enjoyment of it may've come solely from chasing the rubber duck around. xd
Playing the waiting game now. Will have to go pick him up in like 3 hours.

He wasn't dopey at all. eek He barely even slept when we got him here. In fact I really wonder if they did anything to his hind end at all aside from taking his dewclaws. I'm not kidding. Even though I doled it out as slowly as possible he ate a bowl and a half of food, drank about that much water, didn't get sick, never slowed down. Has been moving furniture and terrorizing everyone all night...
And the kicker?
Recall they made us wait because if we didn't the dewclaw part of the operation was going to cost $20...well, they charged us $60. scream I am NOT happy about this. Especially after having to shell out $80 for a visit to another vet about his eyes a few days earlier. crying
I have to look @ the receipt when I get a chance. If the dewclaw surgery was still $20 that means that stupid plastic cone cost us $40. (Or $20 and $20 for the meds. I don't know.)

I have yet to read Lisey's Story but it is next on my list for King novels.
That's the problem with vet's nowadays. They charge you outrageous amounts for every little thing.

I'm jealous. I can't wait to read it again even though it completely wrung me out the first time. I still had to stop myself from flipping it over and turning to the first page again. There's a bunch of stuff ahead of it though and I haven't found time to crack a book since August. Once I finish Inkdeath I have like 5 "I didn't borrow these" books that have to be returned. sweatdrop He says there's no hurry but I've had them for almost 2 years--at least the oldest ones.
So I'm learning...I thought we'd hit the jackpot with the Humane Society. Bastian was still supposed to be under warranty and everything had thus far been so much cheaper. Decent care as well, even if a fast turnover for the neuter.

Ouch, that is awful. The cost. I mean, to say it's one thing and then charge something totally different is just plain annoying.
But at least he's ok. And happy and bouncy.

Yeah you don't have to tell me twice. stressed Dewclaw surgery was $40, cone was $10 and it went on from there. H had told me $60 but the bill was almost $70...I'm glad I looked at the receipt. I could throttle that man but at least the books are accurate. stressed
YeaY for B in good health. I agree. I mean we all could've used a couple of days of him recovering and lately he's putting most of his energy into trying to get the cone off. I hate to tell him, if he does get that thing off he's going back in his crate overnight.
