I just realized that I couldn't stand my plot, specifically that it basically revolved around Wolf, who was a nobody. I created him knowing he had to die because I wasn't going to drag any more damn characters into the sequel, so I guess I just couldn't get attached.
I'm planning to use most of the same characters, and one side of the plot will be about the same except that there's not going to be a third plot thread to tie in with it.
Wolf is out entirely.
Instead of Isabel being a victim who insists on following Eli around because she wants to get revenge, she now brought it on herself by participating in some kind of theft of magical artifacts that went wrong.
And to keep from being thrown in jail, she has to work with the magi-cops to find her partners-in-crime and get back all the magic items.
So she's basically a thief on a leash, because I love that trope where the non-violent criminal is forced to help out the feds but the agent finds himself getting attached to the 'bad guy' and vice versa. heart
(Yeah, I realize this is kind of a mashup of White Collar and Warehouse 13. Haven't actually watched White Collar, though, so maybe I'm completely off on that one? But definitely Warehouse 13.)
Vi and Nick basically follow the same plot as they did before, except no Wolf and instead they manage to get their hands on one/some of the artifacts. Naturally it's the most dangerous one.
Now... I have three days to flesh out this new plot. I'm scared.
Anyone else doing something this blindingly stupid?

No, that's a pretty good description of White Collar (though with Elizabeth as well and nothing actually ever happens to my disappointment).
I've done a completely impromptu NaNo before. It's entirely possible! Dun give up biggrin

I'm scrapping my plot too. Can't stand it. I'm now doing a Civil War era book.

3 days to go, and I'm seriously thinking of scrapping my plot in favor of another story that I thought of an outline a LONG time ago for, but never wrote.
I never thought I'd say this about any of my ideas, but I can already see my initial plan not working. Something tells me to "Try it first and maybe you'll like it" though...

Three days to go and my mind has two plots jumping around: Reaper (my current plot) and something inspired by Alice: The Madness Returns.
Burn, subconcious, burn! Curse you!

Spontaneous is fun! (and bowties are cool, don't forget that.)
I did absolutely spontaneous last year. Seriously, it was November 15 before I realized I actually did have a plot. So if I can do that, I have faith that you can pull off a quick replan (I'm hopeless really).
Just go with the flow! Be one with the creative influences!

Malkie Spontaneous is fun! (and bowties are cool, don't forget that.) <3 Dr. Who!!! And go for whatever comes to the top of your head! That's what I did last year, and I would have won, if it hadn't been for that stupid thing called life getting in the way....

It sounds like you still have things kind of planned out.
This year, I'd going in blind. See what comes out, you know? xD
