My step father died when his heart stopped last February on the way home from 7 eleven. He was 39. I loved him dearly, but I mourned by jumping into life and trying my hardest to be the young lady he always wanted me to be, while my mom fell apart and didn't want to pick up the pieces. i want to help her, but i don't know what to do! please pray that the Lord will show me what to do.

Encourage your mother; tell her that God will work in her life even when it's useless. Even when you lost someone dearly you need to be supportive. because... Jesus give us a life right? for a purpose. in order to life his ways we must become like him. and for that reason, each time I look at the cross I see him with our sins. but beside that Each day feels like a new day it feels like Jesus is hugging us and to encourage people. to encourage people.. to love each other no matter how useless it is or that you lost someone dearly to you Our Father and his Son is there for us.

Your poll question is worded wrongly... You should ask God when to stop mourning. "There is a time for mourning, and a time for laughter." I can't remember what verse that is, but with the internet, it shouldn't be hard to find it. But even in your mourning, worship God always.

Maybe you should ask your Pastor to talk to her. He can counsel her and help her through the grieving period. Some people fall into a very deep depression when they loose their mate. Your Pastor should be experienced in helping to pick up the pieces. You may even benefit in talking to him together. Ask her if she would to go and talk to him with you.

i only suggest that you pray to god for guidance, i will pray for you, i read a few days ago this passage: "Sorrow is better than laughter, because a sad face is good for the heart." Ecclesiastes 7:3 (niv) I dont know if that apply's though, im sorry for your loss
