Sabathia announced that he would not be exercising his opt-out clause and had signed an extension with the Yankees. The extension was for an additional year on his original seven year contract, worth $25 million.
Cashman signed a new 3-year contract to stay with the Yankees through the 2011 season.
First one was essential for them for the first one, the second one, was an ok move for them.
Phillies and Thome have agreed on a one-year, $1.25 million contract.
a decent move on there part.

Last week Papelbon reached an agreement with the Philadelphia Phillies on a four-year, $50 million contract with a vesting option for a fifth year, bringing the total contract value to $60 million.
And...
Jim Thome agreed to a one year, $1.25 million deal with the Philadelphia Phillies.
