Ok, I need some help guys! I bought a female Betta to go in my moms tank when I set it up in a few weeks. I've put her in the 10 gallon in the Breeders Net, for now.

She has some serious Swim Bladder problems going on. When she's not floating lifelessly at the top, she swimming frantically in tight, head down circles. Durring the night, she must have been swimming very crazily, as I founder her outside of the Breeders Net.

She doesn't appear to be bloated, just a natural female pudge, and breeding stripes. Perhaps she's egg bound...?

She's also a tail biter, only with her a**l fin :/

She becomes so lifeless and weak at times that I can literally touch her, and she won't move (I thought she was dead this morning, so I poked her gently with the net).

Oh and she won't eat. This is only the second night I've had her, so that doesn't really mean too much, as of right now.

I originally thought maybe the floating plants were she was hanging out were freaking her out because she couldn't get air, and thats why she was swimming so frantically, so I put her in the Breeders Net to keep her away from them, buts clearly not the plants...

Since you guys are of no help ( mrgreen ), its a good think I have other sources to ask questions!

Anywho, I've separated her in a 1/2 gallon tank (she's not eating, of moving very much, so its not much of a problem. If she starts getting better, I'll upgrade her to a 3 gallon bowl), and added 1/4 teaspoon of Aquarium Salt.

After just a few minutes in there, her colors look great, but no other change. This was yesterday night.

Today, colors still look good, and she did eat a single pellet. She can keep herself upright, to an extent, and swims a bit better than she was. Over all, though, its not much of an improvement.

I'm about to change her water, now, and add more salt. Hopefully, she's getting better just to get worse.

If she's starting to eat(even if not much and rarely) try feeding bits of a peeled pea that has been steamed and cooled. Can't remember how or why, but it works!

She won't eat. I even soaked some pellets in garlic water, and she wouldn't touch them. My Ram and Guppy on the other hand, went flippin' nuts over the garlic soaked pellets. So much so that I threw a piece of straight garlic in there because the Ram was freaking out looking for more lol

I bought some Epsom Salt. I'll give her a salt bath tomorrow, and see how it helps :/

Gave her an Epsom Salt bath today. Not sure if it helped or not, but we'll see. Should I do these daily, or what?

Also, Looking at her from the top, she's got a considerable curve in her spine. Perhaps this is all due to a spinal injury??

Sorry about the crappy cell phone pic.
