Southlake Mall
You thought Saturday's mallrats were zombies, wait until you see what is terrorizing these department stores now. Even though you thought it could get no worse than overexcited 16-year-olds, what roams this area is far more putrid and rotten. The mall is so infested, people don't even dare their lives to get to the goodies inside... Must be some useful finds left...

 xxxCoopxxx Coop find himself standing outside of Southlake Mall. He walks up to the doors, turning back to see if Rune is still close by. "Think this is a good idea?" he asks, pointing at the massive amount of zombies lurking around inside. At first he was a bit skeptical about going in, but the idea of finding supplies quickly changed his mind. He awaited runes response, hoping it would be to go in and kill anything that tried to kill them. He was eager to rack up some kills. He'd decided that he would turn this insanity into a sport. Whoever kills the most wins. Though he's unsure if anyone shares his mindset.

RuneRune twitched eagerly, seeing all of the zombies. It was all just sport to her. "if we bring some of this stuff back, we'll be accepted into Scar without hesitation. But we could also die or become like them."she bit her lip lightly, and pulled out one of her katana's and handed it to Coop. "I'll show you how to use this. It will help." she showed him the basics, then some of the advanced moves, then the lightning quick ones she had perfected. "easy right? Let's go in, if they come at us, kill. If they don't, come at us, still kill." she slowly and silently began to open the door an then stopped and turned to Coop. She hesitated, then kissed him lightly on his mouth. "in case we don't come back," she said softly, then slipped just inside and slit two throats of waiting zombies, and began to kill mercilessly. Her moves blended into each other, they were so fast. So graceful. So deadly. Her teeth were bared, and she pulled out one of her 9mm's and squeezed off several rounds. She thought fiercely, this is one Marine who won't go down without a fight!!

xxxCoopxxx Coop paid little attention to the kiss, to him it was nothing more than a girl finding her last kiss before death. Though he had the katana in his hand, he didn't grip it, almost as if he wasn't planning on using it. His steps were slow and steady as he walked through the mall. He noticed rune going a bit crazy with the killing. Some competition, he thinks to himself before gripping the handle of both the bat and the katana. A zombie creeps up, grunting as he reaches out to grab coop. He quickly swings the blade upward, cutting the zombies right arm off, causing the zombie to miss and trip to the side. As the zombie is falling coop swings the bat up catching it under the chin with the spiked part. He pulls his bat out of its neck and looks around. He notices the food court and looks over to rune, who was littering the mall floor with the blood of the many zombies who dared challenge her. "I'll look for food." he blurts out, running into the food court. Coop sheathed the katana before walking into the food court. From what he could tell, the place was zombie free. He decides checking any of the fast food places would be a bad idea, it would have probably went bad by now. He looks around trying to spot something that seemed like it would be useful, and there it was, Pete's house of meats, he runs over hoping that we would be able to find something in there. Once inside he looks around for the freezer. After he find it he decides to return to rune and have her help him bag as much of it as they could. He leaves the food court and returns to the main plaza. Coop sticks his head around the corner, trying to figure out where rune could have made it to. Following the trail of blood seemed like the only real way of finding her. As he walked through the mall, gazing from left to right, checking to see if she had decided to venture into any of the stores, he notices a large amount of zombies in front of a barricaded door. Survivors, he tells himself, rushing over, readying his bat. He swings, hitting one zombie in the back of the head, causing that zombie to knock over a few others as it fell. He quickly pulls the bat out of the now dead zombie and swings again, hitting one in the neck producing a great amount of blood. The blood sprayed outward, covering the nearest zombie, which Coop would kill next. He yanks the bat back, and takes a few steps back. This bat keeps getting stuck, it'll get me killed, he tells himself as he ties his to his belt loop with the two dangling strands of fabric. He pulls out the katana and begins to hack and slash away, the zombies stood little chance against the blade. Though he was sure rune would have finished the job a lot sooner. He peers through the barricaded door, hoping to spot a survivor. Unfortunately he only sees a pair of dead bodies. he turns and sits with back against the door and sighs. "Where could she have gone?" he mumbles.

Rune literally came out of nowhere, covered in blood. "live!!" she Announced, smoothly killing six zombies in one swing. She wasn't playing around. She ran down the hallway, steadily swinging her katana. She meant business. She was then surrounded by them, so she took her gun out and shot in an arc while swinging her katana on the opposite side. The zombies fell, instantly dead. Breathing hard she cast her eyes around and saw no more. She tucked her gun away but kept her katana at the ready. Runs began to walk back towards Coop. They only thing she knew wasn't blood spattered was her eyes. One zombie slowly made its way to her, from behind.

xxxCoopxxx Coop sighed, and rubbed his eyes. He looked down noticing he still wasn't wearing a shirt. I should grab one while I'm here, he thinks to himself. He looks up and notices rune, covered in blood. He was smart enough to know it probably wasn't her own which made him a smile a bit. He stood up and began to walk towards her. For a moment everything appeared normal, at least until he noticed the zombie behind her. He wondered how she didn't realize there was a zombie behind her. Surely her training would have made her senses more alert. His smile is quickly washed away by a look of fear. The zombie was too close for him to run over and push her out of the way. Think coop, think. he repeats to himself before realizing he didn't have time to think. He unsheathes the katana and throws it directly at rune. "CROUCH!" he shouts out, hoping she realizes whats going on in time. Everything seemed to slow down as the blade whirled through the air. Coops heart beat got louder and louder, and then the blade struck.

Rune's eyes widened slightly as she heard the shuffling behind her. too close!!! she thought frantically. then she heard Coop yell crouch. Automatically, her legs bent and she tucked and rolled out of the way as his katana flew through the air, connecting with the zombie that almost ended her life. As the zombie's body fell to the ground, she jumped up and threw her strong, supple arms around Coop and whispered reverently, "Thank you, Coop. You saved my life." She let him go, stepped to the zombie, shoved her boot on his throat, and ripped the katana out of his upper chest. She carefully did not look at Coop, embarrassed by her show of emotion. What's the matter with you, Marine? she asked herself in perfect imitation of 1st Segeant's voice, Don't tell me you're getting soft on me Marine!!! She toughened up her thoughts, and closed off her emotions. She looked around, and quickly began picking up only the useful items. Walking back to him slowly, she said, "i'm going to the hospital, picking up a few things for Nick, and I'm going back to the Market. Come or stay." Her face was cold, emotionless. As was her voice. She couldn't afford to be any closer to him. She took a step back, glanced around, and started walking, not waiting for Coop. ~Exit the emotional, nervous wreck that is Rune to Market~

xxxCoopxxx She acts is if it kills to her to be thankful. Coops eyes follow her as she leaves the mall, it'd be unwise to remain there alone, but she left before he could mention the food. He sighs, walks into the nearest clothing store and begins searching for a shirt. As he looks around he notices a charcoal gray t-shirt. He grabs it off the rack and puts it on. This'll do. He exits the clothes store only to be greeted by more zombies. Coop reached for his katana, which thanks to rune, he no longer had. "Great," he whispers gripping the bat Thais' gave him. One of the zombies reaches forward and tries to grapple coop, but coops foot met it's chest knocking it down and out of his way. He swings his bat at the next zombies neck, killing it and knocking it out of the way. He see's a clearing between the zombies and thanks advantage of it, jumping through the crowd and back onto the open floor. Coop finds himself back outside the food court, which still appeared zombie free. He quickly runs over to Pete's and starts bagging meat. After filling the fifth bag, he realizes to carry them, he would need his bat hand free, so he again ties it to his belt loop before grabbing the bags and exiting the mall. -Coop returns to the commons

 As Anca walked near the mall, it held an ominous vibe. She knew there were many walkers inside. It was only logical. She walked carefully, crouched low her machete in hand, prepared and ready to go. With any luck she would be able to escape from the city shortly. That was until she saw a herd before her of incredible size. She almost felt as though she would be sick with fear. She shrunk back against a pair of mall entrance doors and very quietly sneaked inside. Once she was in, she peered around cautiously, making sure no walkers were insight, and that none had spotted her. It was dark inside, which hopefully covered her from being spotted by those walkers on the outs. Anca remained huddled in a small ball by the door, peaking over a shaded part of glass on the door to watch the horde as they slowly consumed the streets she'd recently been walking. Her breath kept catching in her throat, fear overpowering her. She did not sob for the fact that it would draw attention, but her breaths were very sporadic and small. She was afraid to breath. There wasn't much else to do besides sit quietly and wait for it to pass, and hope that none, either inside or out, would see her.

Carter
After carter and coop abandoned the others in the safe house, they fled to the mall. Carter had an idea he wanted to run by coop. They spent the entire day barricading every store in the mall, and set up sirens at the back entrance. Carter also fixed a pulley system that would open and close the front entrance doors. After finishing up with all of the constructions they needed, the two slept in separate stores, barricading the doors so no zombie could surprise them.
They woke up and realized they had only slept for an hour, and it was still very much dark outside. Carter rushed over and cranked the pulley, opening the entrance. While coop started the sirens, at the back entrance, allowing many zombies to collect back there. The two stood on the upper levels, with their hands on the railing waiting for someone for someone to decide to venture into the mall.

RuneRune snuck up quietly behind Carter and blew lightly on his neck, and giggled. She loved the fact that he was sooo much nicer than Coop. She played her fingers across the edge of his shirt before clasping his hand with one of her hands resting gently on the butt of her katana.

Carter
"Leave it to a marine to find a way past all these barricades without notice." Carter says, taking her Katana. He glanced over at coop, who appeared to be puzzled and a bit sad. Carter grabbed runes waist and pulled her closer to him. "You're reckless boy, as long as you live you endanger anyone who comes into contact with you." Carter says before he kisses rune, hoping to get a rise out of coop as he knew it was not a difficult thing to do. CoopCoops fury grew, and his eyes widened with anger, his insanity flourished in these circumstances. He looked around, trying to find a weapon but none were present. That was when the katana fell at his feet. He looked up at carter, who was empty handed. Oh well his foolishness, coop though rushing forward with the katana behind him, as if he were going to swing hard enough to slice the man in half. He swung the blade around, but it was blocked, by some makeshift wrist shield that carter had been wearing. CarterCarter raised his foot and kicked coop, causing him to fall over the railing onto the bottom floor. Carter laughed as coop struggled to his feet, the sight of a boy who tempted fate so many times is now as helpless as a lab rat. "And now, you will die." He says, pulling a lever that opened the back doors allowing all of the zombies to rush in. Carter tugged rune to the gun store with him, "There is enough ammunition here to clear the place out after he has been killed." He says grabbing several guns and slinging their straps over his shoulder. CoopCoop finally made it to his feet, and the zombies had him surrounded. "Damn you Carter!" He shouted, punching each zombie that came close enough to him. He fought for a while, but then he was bitten, and again, and again, until he was nothing more than bones with minimal meat on his bones.Carter"Clear em out." Carter says as he begins shooting at the zombies. The shots laster a considerable ammount of time, but after a while there was only a pool of blood and countless zombies lying scattered across the mall floor. Carter looks over to rune and says, "Why didn't you try to stop me? I know of your feelings towards the man."COOP DEAD

Rune simply blinked when he took her katana, and smiled when he touched her. she let him kiss her, not worried about Coop anymore. She wanted Carter. She watched, emotionless as Coop plunged to his sure death. She followed behind Carter silently, muttering, "Dammit. I want my katana back...." She picked out her favorite gun, and fired countless times into the crowd. Narrowing her eyes slightly, she pursed her generous lips and replied in a low voice, "He didn't want me. Why should I want him?"

Carted nodded, he fetched runes katana. "Can't imagine a girl as pretty as you being a marine." he says, walking back to seal the front door. After the door was sealed, he grabbed runes wrist and took her into one of the bed rooms. "You'll be sleeping here. if that's okay with you." he says. Turning to walk across to the other bedroom, but stopping at the door for a moment.

Rune shrugged, "I wanted to be. Had to do it, really. My life was going nowhere fast." She followed him into her makeshift room and sighed. "I hate sleeping alone, but if you want to sleep by yourself, be my guest. I'll go scrounge up a teddy bear or something." She started towards the door, and added softly, "I'll also be looking for some scissors...Need to give myself a trim." She walked stealthily, like a big panther or lioness.
