▶ ▷ ▸ ▹ Ɉαɨ∂əɳ • Φʁȃɳ ◀ ◁ ◂ ◃ ✗✗✗ Jaiden let out a soft sigh as another wave of gray clouds rolled across the sky; the frail winds building up as an annoucing nudge of the storm ahead. The tall, towering buildings of the town seemed to loom larger with each step he took, in the vague sense of his destination.
The cemetery.
It had have to been at least one year since the horrid accident that took away his parents, and for some reason, Jaiden was not heart broken by the reality of the situation; apathetic was the better term. A mother who always shopped and gambled, a father who was rarely seen somber and without some sort of drug, and the son who inherited snow manipulation from a long lost grandfather on his mother's side of the family, wasn't exactly the best combination of a perfect relationships. And when Jaiden had finally accepted those terms of his life, the varibles in the equation, his mother and father, became victims of the murderer Atlas Axel; their entire face was ripped from their bodies, ridden from their existance, like garbage long since forgotten. When the school told him, offered programs for mourning children with mindless affection, did Jaiden run away to the next town, this one. The cemetery was shared by both towns, he could visit them whenever he wanted. Why he wanted to, he could never figure out. At first, Jaiden thought is was because he had to, they were his parents after all, shouldn't all children visit their parents graves when the pass on? But then he started to wonder if he went there to gloat, to show his parents he was still alive, the freak of nature, and they were dead, the normal, pathetc. The useless.
Jaiden stopped and stared up at the sky as the first droplets of rain fell, his crystal blue-gray eyes seemed to blend with everything else around them. "Grand, il pleut...but I like rain, so I guess it doesn't truly matter then..." He tilted his head to the side and let the cool drops of rain slide down his hair. ✗✗✗ Ooc:// Way down I've been way down Underneath this skin Waiting to hear my name again

It was the feeling of being alone that made her skin crawl. It was the smell of cigarette smoke that hung around her room that reminded her who she was. And, most of the time, that was not a good thing.
Arizona did not wish to be reminded of herself. That is exactly why she lived, and conducted all her business, alone. She smoke because it made her feel a bit better about herself, and what she was. In the French town she had moved to, out of all the people, she had no friends. She was a loner, an American loner who spoke two words of French at the most. She was also broke, her wallet seemingly forever empty, not even a dime in its old credit card littered depth.
"It's raining..." She breathed, gazing out the window with nosalgic eyes. She smothered her most recent cancer stick and stood from her spot near the window sill. She cracked the window open slightly.
Arizona dropped her clothes to the floor and closed her eyes. Warmth tingled throughout her body and a short whimper of pain escaped her lips as her entire form was changed. The whimper turned to a brilliant caw and she flapped her newly formed raven wings, lifting her off the ground and out the window.
Rain drops hit her wings as she flew against the dark sky, heading to the one place she used to go to all the time: the cemetary. Once there, she perched atop a gravestone, staring blankly at a human boy standing nearby with eyes that were much more human than bird. She cawed again, spreading her wings slightly, trying to gain the attention of this boy. --------

▶ ▷ ▸ ▹ Ɉαɨ∂əɳ • Φʁȃɳ ◀ ◁ ◂ ◃ ✗✗✗ Jaiden blinked down at the sound of a raven calling out in the rainy night sky, then chuckled ruefully when he got closer to the gravestone it was on. "That's got to be the baddest omen I've seen all month; a Raven ontop of my mother and father's headstone...but then again, that's kinda funny, since Ravens were my favorite birds back then." He blinked down at the golden plaque bolted down into the marble:
Here lies Adina and Luther D'argent, A proud mother and father, Close friends.
A loud whip of lightning clashed with another in the blackened sky, but the 18 year old was unfazed but the pure aggravation the heavens boasted, but even more amused. "Feh...even the Gods are angry at the 'proud mother and father' bit, eh? Hell, I'm pissed off at it, but their's nothing I can do about the towns sugarcoating the subject of their parenthood." Jaiden sighed, which was clearly visible like on a snowy/cold day in France, the rain droplets quickly shifting into snowflake right before the human eye (or bird eye, for the tiny creature before him.) "Rien qu'il Jaiden, I thought I told myself not to let my emotions get the better of me like this...now it's thundering AND snowing..." He leaned on the apple tree that limped above his parents grave and stared up at the sky, absentmindedly talking to the bird now. "Do you get cold when it snows Raven? Or do you spend your days rapping on chamber doors? Aha..." ✗✗✗ Ooc://Rien qu'il means "damn it" Way down I've been way down Underneath this skin Waiting to hear my name again

A bad omen... Arizona thought, focusing on the boy. To her raven ears, everything much too difficult to understand. If she focused, she could catch some of the words he said. 'Bad omen' was among them, making her lift her leg and curl her talons once before setting it down on the grave again. She watched his lips move and could only help but wonder what he was saying.
The atmosphere seemed to change temperature almost instantaneously as the rain shifted into snow in the blink of an eye. She wondered what could have caused the unnatural shift in weather. Unnatural... How hypocritical am I... Her next caw was one of laughter. This laughter was hard to contain, and soon she had 'the giggles', as an entity of her past used to call it.
Her skin once again became warm despite the fridgid air and she found her self as a human once more, a naked maiden standing among the graves in the white tears shed by the sky. Goosebumps almost instantly crawled along her bare flesh as she still stared blankly at the boy, though amusement lifted the corner of her mouth in a smirk as she waited for his reaction. --------

"Ya know, it's not exactly wise to be naked when it's snowing, miss shape-shifter...even if you transform, your eyes still show sorrows of human loneliness, it was kinda depressing." He smirked and raised his hand, making a small snow tornado twist and turn in its palm, still looking to the sky. "I changed the wheather, incase you were wondering." Jaiden trying not to chuckle when he slowly closed his fingers around the mini snow storm in his hand; the wind whispered cold happenings were at hand. He rummaged through his backpack and tossed an over sized sweatshirt at Arizona, still unfazed by her nakedness. "Here, this was my dads. I was going to bring it to Goodwill, but I'll let you have it. But it might reek of smoke, hope you don't mind."
He blinked into the women's distant, dark brown eyes with empathy, trying not to let to much of any other emotion bubble upward in his gaze. ✗✗✗ Ooc:// Way down I've been way down Underneath this skin Waiting to hear my name again

Another bought of laughter rose to Arizona's lips and she had no choice but to let it out. "I'm aware," She said with an airy sort of voice. She studied the small tornado in his palm with curiosity, though her eyes didn't show it. "That's a rather nifty ability you have..." She was smiling in her mind, wondering if she should continue. Don't suppose it has anything to do with the death of the couple under the grave I was perched on, does it? She wanted to ask, but held her tongue.
She caught the shirt and tugged it over her head, barely noticing the smoke smell. She was all too used to it by now. The shirt covered her to the middle of her thighs. She took a step towards him, but only one. "You know... Most hormone crazed teenagers would jump at the chance to see this." She paused and looked into his eyes for a moment. "I'm glad you're not one of them." --------

▶ ▷ ▸ ▹ Ɉαɨ∂əɳ • Φʁȃɳ ◀ ◁ ◂ ◃ ✗✗✗ Jaiden smiled weakly and turned his head toward Arizona, blinking a snowflake off of his eyelashes. "Unlike the other men in this town, I think hounding on women is...well, vulgar, to be blunt about it. You look like an intelligent young women, and their isn't truly any reason 'jump' at you like that, it's actually kinda, well, gross. Not that your gross, mind you, but picture seeing some random person you don't even know stark naked in the middle of a heavily populated area? Not exactly my cup of tea, as the british would say." He yawned and scratched the back of his gray hair, he hasn't slept in a couple of weeks, and it was now finally starting to catch up to him like jet lag. The thunder had grinded to a halt as the snow faltered, Jaiden's calmed aoura did that without the teen actually having to. Like most days, it was quiet and still, Atlas Axel was caught, but mini gangs had started to sprout up with the encouragement of the madman who murdered his parents. A French flag flapped haphazardly in the center of the cemetery, not even the tiniest twinge of pride welled up in him as his nation flag stood tall up this falsely created storm. "Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December, And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor. Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore - For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore - Nameless here for evermore." Jaiden recited softly, closing his eyes as a crisp bitter breeze stirred the dead leaves below their feet, a sense of unwanting of the world started to creep up upon him again, making his features sadden slightly.

"I suppose that's the truth..." Arizona said quietly, pulling her hands into the sleeves of the shirt and blowing warm air into them. She was about to dismiss herself from the situation and head home, finding herself a bit socially awkward, when he started reciting a very familiar piece of literature. She grinned. "I know that... 'The Raven'. How appropriate." She chuckled, then shivered violently. She exhaled deeply, air visible on the air even though the snow had slowed. --------
