Santos was meticulous when deciding where to send the groups. With little information to go on, and only his years in the force to guide him, he decided to that the city and neighborhood were the best places to focus efforts. While other areas wouldn't go unchecked, He was fairly certain an attack would be geared toward high population areas.

Bisshalten and Specter's group would find themselves assigned to the northern half of the neighborhood. Dogs in these homes are sometimes too stingy to talk, so they will have to rely on their observational skills. They should probably focus on looking for things that seem out of place or odd.

Quote:
You may only post here if you are the owner of:
❥ Bisshalten
❥ Specter
❥ Rostam
❥ Shasta
❥ Basil

Things to keep in mind:
❥ This isn't meant to be easy for your dogs. They will not talk to just one dog and suddenly know the meaning of like, the universe, and everything (42)
❥ Police dogs, you are the leaders of your group. This means you have to help make decisions about what to do and where to go. Do not god mod, but be aware that the other dogs on your team probably don't know what they're doing in terms of police-work.
❥ Outcasts, it is more important now than ever that you consider consequences. You are now in a small group with two or more cops surrounding you. Either watch your step, or be careless and see where that lands you.
❥ If you have a question, quote DarkHeartedSorrows so that I know to check. Otherwise, you're free to roleplay and interact and formulate plans. I will occasionally fall in with prompts to help you out.

Rostam's long legs made the journey to the northern half of the neighborhood easy, however he kept himself at a much slower pace than usual to keep an eye on the smaller dogs in the group, after all, both of the officers were pretty far ahead and he didn't want to have the smaller dogs get singled out by any of the dangerous strays that could be lurking in the area. This was a higher level neighborhood and Rostam didn't really spend too much time here but he knew that sometimes the best place to hide was the place where you were most likely to stick out, especially if you did all of your activities at night when the pampered pets and their humans were indoors.

Keeping his eyes on the officers ahead of him Rostam waited for them to stop or offer up some directions. He was no police dog and he really didn't spend much time trying to find other dogs so he wasn't sure at all how to go about this. All he knew for sure was that he was strong and a capable fighter if it came down to that.

Shasta's little feet padded along quickly as she made sure to stay caught up. It wasn't too difficult or tiring. The agility dog had learned to build up a little stamina and be quick on her feet considering his size. But she appreciated that the Dane seemed to be slowing his pace down to accommodate the size of those that were smaller. She didn't know who the other two in their group were (though she suspected they were officers). Her gaze narrowed slightly, keeping the two dogs further ahead in sight. The ones that had to be the other two members of their group.

"Have either of you hunted for things before? Or tried to find another dog?" The corgi tried to strike up some sort of conversation while hopefully learning that no, she was no the only one that had never had to put much effort into finding something. Or someone.

User ImageBasil trotted along behind the others thankful that the Dane was keeping a slow pace. With the other officers near the front of the group it was best to have someone in the back in case they where attacked from behind. He memorized odd colored houses, large rocks and trees to use as land marks as they walked so he'd know how to get back latter. He also paid close attention to when they turned as the group walked to the northern end of town. Keeping an Eye out now would help him find his way around latter on.

Trotting lightly ahead with one of the other officers, Specter scanned his surroundings for anything out of place. So far, it looked pretty clean, nothing out of place for the time being anyway. As one of the civilians spoke, she slowed his pace slightly to turn his milky eyes towards her. His voice was deep and even as he spoke. "..I have done many searches before, this is the first time though where I haven't had any intell about what I'm searching for though..." He trailed off as he looked ahead once more.

Biss was not exactly what one would call a natural leader. He was a hard worker, did his job well, but usually he wasn't working with other dogs much. He didn't really mind working with them, but he didn't like putting himself forward as a leader or being social. This was why he hadn't yet introduced himself, and had merely strode ahead to where they needed to go. He glanced back as the other officer slowed, and after a moment, chose to do the same. No sense of haring off on his own if there was a dangerous pack of outcasts out there somewhere.

They seemed to be meandering randomly, now that they were in the north part of the city. This was counter-productive, but doing anything about it would mean he'd not only have to speak up, but give the group direction. He gritted his teeth, mentally steeling himself. For the good of the city, someone needed to do something other than just amble along, eyes open. "We should start sweeping the streets and alleyways," he finally said, his voice almost a growl, but not quite. He didn't intend to sound so belligerent, but he just didn't like leading. The only dog he got along with in a relaxed manner was his mate.

He took another deep breath. "Seems to me that we should split up, but stay parallel. One group in an alley, one group in a street." He glanced at the two other officers, giving the small one his due, hoping they might step up and start giving orders so he wouldn't have to.

Before they could split up, something strange becomes apparent.

Down a line of houses, it seemed that there are a whole slew of trashcans that have been flipped. Their content are spilled across the street, but seem relatively undisturbed. This is extremely unusual.

It might be a really good idea to follow the cans and see where they lead.

The corgi glanced up when one of the two that had been in front slowed and answered her question. She tilted her head curiously, sniffing at the air while padding along behind them. "Well, at least you have some experience then!" Shasta offered. "That's better than not having any or knowing where to even start." Though if he wasn't used to not having anything else to go off of besides words, maybe this was going to be much harder than initial thought. Not that Shasta hadn't suspected it was going to be easy in the first place.

The second officer slowed his pace as well, but instead of the much friendlier dog before him, he all but growled out a 'suggestion' that bordered an order. Her ears lowered a notch wondering if maybe they had all offended him or something without knowing it? But, even she had to admit he had a point. And his suggestion about splitting up wasn't bad either.

"You have more experience at this than I do." Shasta said (to the group at large, really). "Don't sound like a bad idea..." She trailed off, ears perking forward while she glanced under the larger dogs while walking. "What's that?" Nodding her head, she gestured towards what looked like a mini tornado had run through. Minus the garbage strewn all over the place verses in concentrated little piles where the trashcan's had fallen over.

Rostam's ears perked up as Shasta spoke from just behind him, seemed she was having the same train of thought that he was having himself. "Well, honestly no, not really. I mean, I've chased some rabbits, squirrels and cats before but I've never actually gone tracking a dog. I imagine it will be more difficult because none of us know which dogs we're looking for so even if we have come across them in the past we won't know if we should be following their scent or not." he continued walking until the two officers up front slowed to almost a stop and he finally did stop completely while he listened to the comments being aired.

It seemed that the pit bull wasn't in the mood to make friends with the rest of the group, he didn't sound hostile exactly, just unpleasant and maybe a little irritated at having been placed with this group in the first place though Rostam couldn't see why he would have a problem with any of them. It wasn't long before Shasta spoke again and drew his attention to the street ahead of them. Odd, a whole bunch of trash cans were knocked over but nothing looked like it had been rummaged through. With a frown Rostam stepped forward, ears perked up as he listened intently for sounds of movement and his nose lowered to the ground before it kicked into overdrive as he tried to pick up any familiar scents.

"No unfortunately I've never tracked a dog either. and I doubt there will be any drugs or explosives involved with the search." Basil nodded as the pit bull spoke. "That sounds like a good idea. We could have two groups of two search and have someone keep watch here." The town of voice hadn't sounded friendly but the suggestion was solid and it was possible that the officer was on edged after all they where in a situation where they didn't know what the were looking for and was most likely dangerous.

He turned in the detection Shasta had gestured looking closer he was surprised to see the destruction. He moved closer to the turned over trash can looking for clues and sniffing around to see if there any strange scents. "Hmm this is defiantly strange if we don't find any thing by looking threw this stuff I think it would be a good idea to follow this trail of destruction." He looked around not seeing anyone other than his group out. "Someone who lives here might have seen what happened or at lest heard it. although I don't see any one around."

As the other officer spoke, he turned to look at him, picking up his pace slightly to match his. "I'm not so sure about splitting up, a planned attack is pretty serious, and in groups as small as ours is now, we may be already outnumbered. Splitting into a smaller group could make the odds stack against us even more.

As Shasta spoke, Specter turned his head towards the garbage. Sniffing the air, he moved towards it. "To me it looks fairly undisturbed, This wasnt a stray scrounging for food..." He moved closer to sniff at the can, trying to see if he could scent any specific dogs on it. "I think we should follow the trail..." He didn't really want to make all the decisions, so he turned to Bisshalten "What do you think?"

"That's true, We would be more vulnerable in a smaller group. It would be a lot safer if we were all together if we get attacked." Basil continued to sniff around while looking for any clues as to who or what knocked the trash cans over. He paused for a moment before turning to Specter. "Following the trail sounds like a good idea to me. And I think your right about it not being someone looking for food. Maybe they where running from someone? All though if that was the case it would lead to the question of who were they running from and why?"

User ImageSpecter nodded towards Basil. 'That could very well be it. Or someone trying to stur up trouble. I say we should follow it.." Moving along the line of trash, Specter led the way as he followed the trail of debris. Putting his nose to the ground he tried to find anything that could be a clue.

As the dogs follow the trail of upturned trash cans, their hackles slowly rise in a feeling of trepidation. As if to validate that feeling, a lone lab stands at the end, looking angry and trapped. It snarls and lunges for the team, ready to fight. It's obvious this dog knows what's going on.

HP: 20

Quote:
Read the battle thread and attack! This dog could be a part of the stray pack and needs to be taken down!

When it's HP hits zero, I suggest you use a restraining collar.

Please only attack once, then wait for me to post again.

Specter jumped infront of the other dogs, knowing they weren't trained for fighting. "Everyone, watch your backs!" Specter lept forward to attack, but the stray rolled out of the way just in time.
