This is an ORP for herd leaders. Why? Because, IC, the Shadow Herd was nearly destroyed earlier this fall. When it reformed by the old leaders' granddaughter, the Shadow's creed changed. Instead of its war being confined to the Sunflare Herd, the new leader of the Shadow Herd intends to start a war with every other herd, in an attempt to forge a theocratic empire bathed in blood and fire.... Beware...there's a bad moon on the rise....
I repeat, this is an ORP for herd leaders. They have a need to know of the danger for their herd, and this is to be kept between herd leaders. Not all herd leaders have to be present; it's expected that there will be absences. Whether herd leaders choose to share news of the danger with their herd members is up to them, just as attendance is up to them, but I encourage herd leaders to join. Don't post with a Star who isn't a herd leader.
I see the bad moon rising. I see trouble on the way. I see earthquakes and lightnin'. I see bad times today.
CHORUS: Don't go around tonight, Well, it's bound to take your life, There's a bad moon on the rise.
I hear hurricanes a-blowing. I know the end is coming soon. I fear rivers over flowing. I hear the voice of rage and ruin.
CHORUS
All right!
Hope you got your things together. Hope you are quite prepared to die. Looks like we're in for nasty weather. One eye is taken for an eye.
CHORUS

Lughnasadh, Ard-Righ of the Sunflare Herd, trotted with his Rhiannon, Regina, toward where scouts of the Burning Sun Clan of the Sunflare Herd had claimed that there was considerable danger. He frowned, his emerald eyes distant as they moved through the unnaturally quiet twilight. It had been a couple moons since they had destroyed the Shadow Herd by sneak attack, so there should be no further danger from their extensive herd boundary with the Shadow Herd. What did it mean? Was there a new evil on the rise? Had some of the survivors of the Shadow reformed? Regina noticed her beloved Ard-Righ's grim expression and fluttered by his ear, tiny, since she was no fighter; that was her mate, Lughnasadh's domain within the herd. She had also heard word from the scouts and felt this was very big news. She'd also insisted on coming along on this expedition, claiming that it might involve all the herds, and if it did, they'd need to make sure everything was explained, as was their duty as the leaders of the oldest and greatest herd of Fallen Stars.Kumiko had left her sons and other herd members behind, walking briskly ahead of her friend. "Keep up, Tobiano. There's word of trouble ahead, and we should know of it." It didn't matter to the Rain of the Order of the Tree that this was more the Sun's responsibility than the Rain's responsibility in the Order of the Tree, but since the Rain picked where the Order of the Tree wandered, it was vitally important that she know what was going on, despite the Sun's objections.Tobiano, the Sun of the Order of the Tree, stumped after his friend and partner, quietly swearing. Of course, he should have known that Kumiko would hear the news first and insist on coming to see what was wrong. Of course, he would fail to keep her at home. She knew how best to undermine his argument with logic, whichever direction suited her needs and desires, the clever old lady. Of course, Tobiano was worried about the troubles on the roads ahead, and if it could affect everyone, it was the duty of the Order of the Tree to carry the news throughout the lands, especially to other herds of Fallen Stars, so everyone could share in vital news of danger.Blodeuwedd, the new Shadow Queen of the Shadow Herd, strolled through the twilight, apparently expressionless. Her skull mask hid the twitch of a smirk, and her pure white eyes hid the dark glint to her eyes, rendering her apparently perfectly expressionless and possibly even soulless. It was time to start revenge against the Sunflare Herd, and conquer the rest of the herds of Fallen Stars, to forge an empire under her rule. While she appreciated what her Grandfather Moloch had done, he hadn't thought this through as widely as Blodeuwedd had, or so she told herself....

Helki's long and graceful stride brought her closer to news of a new danger. It worried her that something may be threatening her herd and their way of life. Though the location of her herd is the best kept secret in the world of stars, she didn't want to risk ignorance over the safety of her herd. Her piercing albino gaze took in her surroundings and the sight of other herd leaders. Her tail swayed side to side and she stretched out her great wings then settled them back into place. Her great antlers shown in what light it caught and even glowed and displayed colors depending on her mood. The news of impending danger already had them flickering.

Lughnasadh halted in the clearing and flicked his ears around, his emerald eyes dancing around for signs of other Stars in the vicinity. No one else was here, yet. He was well aware that no cease-fire had been agreed upon at this juncture, leaving him vulnerable. Drat. He should've arranged to bring warriors with him. Hopefully, his own skills as a fighter would be sufficient. That still didn't mean that it was fine for Regina to come with, but as long as she could escape without detection, he wouldn't argue with his beloved mate.
Regina perched on her mate's poll, tucking herself against one golden ear. She rubbed herself against the ear, as much to reassure Lugh as to reassure herself. She was just as worried as Lugh about this new potential danger to their world. If things came to blows, Regina could always fly away undetected to safety, a plan she intended to put into effect as necessary. However, they should've brought a Lyra. Arions couldn't fly that fast or that high, which was a disadvantage. Regina would have to rely on stealth tonight.
Kumiko arrived next and came to an abrupt halt, surprised to see a stallion already there. And--there--by his ear--was that an Arion? Given the anxiety she could sense coming off of him, he was probably no more the danger than she and Tobiano were. His proximity to the danger zone still made her pause with uncertainty. Who was this stallion with his Arion friend, and what business did they have here on this night?
Tobiano walked straight into Kumiko's flanks before realizing she'd stopped. Glaring grouchily at his friend, he demanded, "What--? Oh. That's why you stopped." Stepping around her, he eyed the older golden stallion. "Who are you, stranger, and what are you doing around here? There's supposed to be trouble in this area. It's not safe for anyone who's not prepared for a fight."
Lugh turned in surprise at the belligerent tone of the piebald Arcturus stallion before him. He took a deep breath, sensing his mate's impending burst of outrage at this stallion's impertinence, and hoping the movement would make her pause. Evidently, it did, so he spoke. "I am the Ard-Righ of the Sunflare Herd, and this is the very edge of my lands. I came here on this evening to inspect word of intrusion by an enemy herd my herd defeated a couple moons ago. I'd thought this dark and dangerous herd gone, but I may have made a grave miscalculation." He lowered his eyes and head slightly in apology, hoping to appease the potentially impending outburst of anger on the part of the two Arcturai before him. However, before the conversation could continue, another Star arrived.
Blodeuwedd had stopped just short of the clearing, hiding to the best of her abilities. So. The King of the Sun and two other Stars with enough pride and self-confidence to be rulers of their own herd had come at the hint of danger she'd presented to the area. Perfect. She could make quite the declaration of war in this company. Lip curling in an evil grin, she strolled casually into the clearing. "Apparently, word of my herd's rebirth precedes me. How charming." Tossing her head with its flaming locks and skeletal helm, she continued. "Charmed, I'm sure, to meet you all, especially you, King of the Sun Stars. My grandfather was most desirous to beat you to a bloody pulp. Shame you defeated him and made him disappear. However, that suits my purposes just fine." Smiling sinisterly, she went on. "I have come tonight to offer my greetings to the leaders of any herd passing by tonight, and to gift all of you with a present."
