Amu awoke to a soft breeze that blew through the den that was their home. Kuro was still sleeping, her eyes looked around the area, she noticed that Ikuto's little eyes were staring back at her. She smiled at him and slowly stood up, she tried to quietly sneak away from her lover. Her white braided tail dragged the ground as she walked, it left a trail behind her in the many colored leaves. Ikuto's paws crunched the leaves even though he too tried to stay quiet, he tried to follow suit with Amu. The duo successfully made it out of the den and into the open field outside of the forest that held the lake.
Amu smiled at Ikuto and nodded and as if on cue, the little lion jumped up onto her back and was ready to go. She concentrated and slowly, the pair left the ground as her wings carried them higher into the sky. She was going to her normal place, it was one of great beauty. It was a field full of flowers and a small pond that was a water source that was perfect for them to use for the day. Within a few moments of her normal pace of flying, they arrived at the beautiful field in no time. She landed gracefully onto the grass and once her hooves touched down, Ikuto knew it was safe to get off. Ikuto gently leapt off of her back and scanned the area to make sure it was safe.

Autumn's chill plucked at Adagio and the feathers on her wings puffed up in response. She looked over them, her strong beautiful wings. Not too long ago they had been covered in bare patches of skin and shiny pink new scars. Now they were fully fledged and looked the same as they always had before the skinwalker attack. Her body was healed, even if she could still feel the p***k of fear in her mind.
She walked in the flowery meadow. It was remarkable to find such a place when the chill of approaching winter was making most of the land barren. The leaves had fallen in the Padmapani herd's lands but here everything seemed fresh and green. She nibbled at the grass beneath her hooves but wasn't really thinking of eating. The beauty of this place was enough for a visit without pulling up all the flowers to chew.
A shadow passed overhead and she squinted upwards. Another soquili! As the pink mare landed, she called out a greeting. "Hello, there!" Though her encounter with the skinwalker left her more wary than she used to be, she didn't think that the mare would do her any harm.

Ikuto noticed the other soquili about the time that she seemed to speak, he hunched his back and hissed at her like an over grown house cat. Amu giggled at her companion, she nudged him gently with her nose, and then walked forward. "Hello, forgive him, he is just protective of me." She smiled at the other soquili, she bowed her head, then glared at Ikuto waiting on him to do the same. With reluctance, Ikuto calmed himself and did as he was told, he followed actions and then laid beside Amu.

The vision of the hissing panther froze Adagio's smile on her face. She stared into his face and saw Samsara's feral snarl instead of his defensive hiss. She had the sudden urge to bolt but her hooves wouldn't move. Instead she stared silently at the panther, until the mare's voice broke her from her flashback.
She took a gasping breath and forced the smile back onto her face. It was just a familiar. A normal familiar, not a skinwalker. The panic left her but she was still rattled. She hadn't known she'd react like that to another panther and didn't like it now that she did. "N-no problem!" She laughed in a strained way and belatedly bobbed her head in greeting. "He's... ah... he seems like he cares about you very much." She was going to say that he seemed nice, but being protective didn't mean that a creature was kind.
"My name is Auspicious Adagio, or just Adagio for short." The familiar words of introduction were like a mantra of calm, and she lost some of her rigidity. "Of the Padmapani herd."

Amu couldn't help but notice the way that she had reacted to Ikuto. "I apologize sincerely for him, I had no idea you were afraid." She was only speaking the truth, from her reactions, it seemed that she had been through something extremely terrifying. Amu decided to keep the rest of what was on her mind to herself. "Ikuto please make nice." She whispered down to her little companion. Ikuto nodded his head and approached the other mare slowly and calmly. "It is a pleasure to meet you Adaigo, I am Amu." She had nothing else to add to her name, it made her feel even more lonely than she did before she found her familiar and Kuro. A soft sigh escaped from her lips, she realized that she suddenly realized that she had become depressed. That mood was not allowed in such a pretty atmosphere but it seemed that it just couldn't be helped.

Adagio was relieved at the change in the familiar's attitude. Even if she knew she was overreacting it was hard to keep her cool when looking at a sharp pair of teeth so soon after the attack. She deliberately looked at him. He was black with lavender eyes, not like Samsara's yellow-eyed gaze. His body was featureless but he had beautiful swirls in deep blue running up his forelegs.
"Nice to meet you, Amu," she said to the mare. "And nice to meet you, Ikuto." She tried to put extra warmth into the look she gave him. "I think we can all share the meadow." She looked around at the beautiful expanse that surrounded them. "It's a lot of space just for three of us." A soft breeze plucked at her billowing hair. It pulled it back from her neck and exposed faint marks. The scars were only faintly visible, the unicorns healing her had seen to that. Still, they were there for the searching eye.

Amu kept her eyes on Ikuto making sure he behaved himself as she spoke, an occasional glance in her direction. "Thank you Adagio." The pink mare smiled at her new found friend, however when the wind decided to show itself in their presence, she noticed something on the mare's neck. However, she did choose to ignore it, things like that were hidden for a reason or so she believed. Her smile didn't waiver as she called Ikuto back to her and she began to eat some of the lush grass. Ikuto bounded back to her but instead of eating grass or anything, he sat beside her keeping watch while her back was turned. He didn't want anything bad to happen to her, she was truly something special to him. She didn't have to ask for protection, he would do it just because it was right for him to do.
