Cloud Mountain is one of the largest in Alconia; it's peak reaches into the clouds and it is constantly shrouded in mist. The higher up you go, the more the jagged peak is covered in snow. The single mountain is steep and tall; so watch your step!
On a high cliff face, on the single mountain amongst is the gateway to the Underworld. It's about halfway up the mountain and well below the snow-line. Guarded by a stoic Beerbelly, it overlooks the forest, which stretches out farther then the eyes can see and over the horizon. The gate had a long lip over it in the cliff face, sheltering the guardian from the rain.

Toadcoddle and Clārus found themselves on the edge of a steep cliff overlooking a vast sea of trees. the trees stretched out as far as the eye could see, beyond the horizon, the only breaks being odd breaks which slithered through the trees like huge gigantic worms.
The gate, newly cut due to Clārus's size, closed behind the pair, and the Guardian stood before the gates, hammer in hand, stoic and strong.
Up high above Toadcoddle and Clārus, crunching through the snow, the young human known as Ruby found herself gazing out over the jungle.

Ruby sat on the cliff face looking out over the jungle as she sat in snow. She wore her favorite red blazer, her brown embroidered jeans, a plain white button up shirt and a pair of black boots and fingerless gloves. She shivered thanks to the snow.
Ruby then pondered how she got here. She didn't quite remember how. She had just woke up here in the snow.
Damnit, her parents are going to kill her when she got home. How the hell did she get here? Had one of the Gekkinada been throwing spells around again?

"whell thes place looks lyke total green shyte! Oor duty teh go foorth ahn edjucate thes back water wyrld starts oot look'n eh might moor trouble than ah imagined! Nay anneh teim teh go aboot ways teh go bak nou! FOOR CLAN, KIN, AHN THANE!" Toadcoddle atop Clārus's head stood whith a marked posture of the conquring hero as the dragon looked far out on the land and blinked taking it all in. As he observed the dragon heard a tiny crunching above them similar to when he bit into chalk. It was different though and had a pattern Crunch,crunch-crunch,crunch. Two by two. It had to be walking in that unstable mass of crystalized water above them. Clārus turned his mass with a great amount of rumbling and shaking of the ground as his attention when to the signs of the first and closest foriegn life they had encountered. Toadcoddle was still standing proud as a peacock on the dragons head laughing and continuing to ramble on about fortune and glory and wenches but the dragon paid little attention to it. Toadcoddle noticed his companion trun and finally stopped giving himself a peptalk and paid attention as Lil nugget had obviously found something worth interrupting his orations for. "Whell lil muffin!? Wha 'ave ye foond? Ah hope etz eh mighteh beast! Ah need teh try th' local meats ahn brews O' aneh place as eh mattar O' stately policy!"

Ruby had immediately noticed the dwarf and the giant toad... thing below, but when the dwarf called the jungle shyte she immediately lost interest.
She got up and instead started poking around the small cliff she herself was on, trying to find some hint of why she was there. When she found none, she wandered back to the edge and looked down at the cliff face, divising a way to get down safely. Her sharp eyes saw something glinting below the trees-- Must be the rainy season. She thought. She smiled to herself. Well, she does like to swim...

Oddly it was Toadcoddle that noticed Rubies location first. He pointed at her and Toadcoddle directed Clārus into a swift march to the humans location. Every step of the dragon made the ground tremble and shook the ground under ones feet sounding loudly with rumbling thunder to his foot falls. "OY! Behold ehn all gloreh one O' th' folk unner the stone theng O' th' surface! Knoh meh ahz Toadcoddle O' the Longstrider! Nou theyn What be ye?"

Ruby watched the toad... thing... approach her and make the mountain shake around her. She decided that she had no desire to go tumbling down the mountain at this time so she retreated from the edge of the cliff.
She eyed the dwarf... one Toadcoddle Longstider... and the huge toad.
What does it look like? I'm human.

Toadcoddle slid down the end of Clārus's snout and with surprising balance and agility did a single flip and landed infront of Ruby. Eyeing her hard and deep Toadcoddle examined her core. Even to those familiar with dwarfs it was always unsettling when a dwarf did it. "Hum'n eh? ... Properly sized! Nay th' lumber'n giants ah wahz told teh look foor! What be yer clan ahn writ?" Clārus eyed the human as well but also smelled her remembering the human in his long memory. He however was subtle about it. It seemed the human wasnt easily surprised even with an enourmus dragon not six feet from her...

Ruby looked at the dwarf known as Toadcoddle. She did not look impressed.
I am Ruby Stark.
She returned the deep stare-- she had always found dwarfs annoying whenever they had come into her parent's shop, and this one was shaping up to be more of the same. The only difference was this one had a gigantic toad... thing...
It was a dragon, she figured. It had to be, unless the dwarfs got it into their heads to start breeding massive pebble toads down there...

"Nice teh meet ye Ruby O' th' Stark's! Ye seem eh lil young fer eh Hum'n Oot en thes bahk'ole O' eh land. Where be Yer keeparz?" For the moment the dwarf actually looked concerned for Ruby. The dragon eyed her strangely... kind of like a potential meal if one were the suspicious type. It croaked loudly after a moment and turned away from them both to look back out on the landscape. Toadcoddle waved back at him dismissively and waited patiently for Ruby to answer.

Ruby glanced at Toadcoddle, slightly puzzled by his... 'terminology'. Though in context, it sounded like yet another insult. She ignored his refrence to the land and thought about what he called her 'Keepers.' He had to have been reffering to her parents, right?
I was hit by a Gekkinada's spell and ended up here. I was about to start an apprenticeship when the Gekkinada got into a fight with a damned Chinny.
She shook her head.
I got caught in the crossfire. Now I'm here. I'm thankful I'm not burned to a crisp or something.
Ruby noticed the dragon's scrutinty of the land around the mountain and she looked out over the land again. She started pondering how she was going to get home. Magic was a volitile and unpredictable thing. But if there are dwarfs this place can't be too alien... though equally annoying.

The dwarf thought on her story and contemplated the truth in her words while stroking his shiny beard (which was a rusty copper color) as his black with gold shine eyes squinted contemplatively. "So th' race O' lil lizard wha' throw fire up yer arse and thoz fuzzballs weth the tailer'n fettish got enteh eh fight and yew goh th' black eyez. THAZ PRETTEH DAMN FUNNEH! Still, ah canneh let ye roam aboot alone without keep'n ye safe. So yer comm'n along weth meh tell we get ye teh femiliar landz. Denne worreh You well beh employed se yer nay eh burdon." Toadcoddle smiled in a way that was meant to be warm and friendly which means his grin showed alomost all his teeth in a face splitting goofy grin. He then rummaged in his pack getting out three gold coins masterfully decorated with Motsognirs head the beard flowing to make the frame of the coin. The other side with the Current High Thanes face her locks making the frame. It was real genuine dwarf gold money.... not something you see everyday. He placed the palm sized heavy coin in her hand. Then gave her a pen (chisel) and a sheet ( a thin stone slab ) "Ye can immortalize mah journey fer yer people by writing et doon en verse!"

Ruby blinked and studied the coin taking quite a bit of interest in the side with th current dwarf thane on it. Ruby wouldn't admit it outloud but the femae dwarf on the side of the coin was... pretty.
He then presented her with the chisel and the stone slab. She stared at him a frown on her face an eyebrow raised. She felt the coin in her hand before a warning one of her parents older customers gave her echoed on her head.
She started to back away before tossing the coin back at him and turning tail and running.
As she darted over the stones and ran she spotted a long flat oval rock sticking out of the snow. She scooped it up with no effort at all and started riding down the mountain as if snowboarding!

Toadcoddle eyes the fleeing human girl with a small amount of admiration. "Whel she ez eh nimble ahn quick one... Whel et leaves us lil choice Nugget! We canne let'r off on'r own!" The dragon get an exasperated look and sighs. Toadcoddle climbed quickly on his dragon friends head and together the two penguin slid down the mountain after her... never mind the stones, soil, boulders, gravel and other earth stuff they were quickly making into a landslide wake behind them as the went to "rescue the human from herself"
