I have a gay best friend who is in love with me but I don't feel the same way cause it is a sin. However,he has emotional problems and I can't help but reach out to him and I have witnessed to him and prayed for him.But I don't know what to do.He hates me hanging out with people,he hurts himself on my account,I can't express the things I feel about what he does and if I ask him what's wrong,he clams up.I try so hard to get him to open up up,but I don't know what I should do.I deeply care about him but I'm so lost and confused...I need help..will someone please..please help me...I feel like I'm going to lose myself.Please...respond quickly and pray for me...I'm so scared..

When you say you've prayed for him, what exactly did you ask for? Hopefully it's something along the lines of asking our Heavenly father to "open the eyes" of your friend to see "the wonderful things of the word" (Psalms 119:13) because YHWH is the one who has made "Eyes to see and ears to hear" (Exodus 4:11).
YHWH had the power to make the Pharaoh see and listen to what Moses said, but he purposely made the Pharaoh stiff-necked and callous in the heart. You could also ask our Heavenly Father to give your friend a new heart and a new spirit that is willing to obey his will (Ezekiel 36:26)
The bible acknowledges that humans have sexual desires (doesn't matter what form it manifests as); however, it is our choice if we indulge them or not. I say that because some people try to "pray the gay" away. They should pray to be given self-control instead, because practically everyone who is not in a "man + woman"-married [in a committed for life] relationship is forbidden from indulging their sexual desire.
You could also ask our heavenly father for his words—and not your own—to come out of your mouth when dealing with him. Ask for wisdom to know how to deal with him too. Were you trying to find verses out of your own effort or did you ask for his divine help? Remember to seek him for strength and assistance in everything.
1 John 5:14-15 New International Version (NIV)
14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
Philippians 4:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(remember to thank YHWH, feel free to thank him before you even see the results because it demonstrates your trust in him to keep his promises; be confident and passionate in what you're praying about too.)
Proverbs 16:3 Amplified Bible (AMP)
3 Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.
Whatever problems you may have, if you heap them up and commit them to YHWH, he will take care of you and see their successful execution.
James 1:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.

Leo Kitty25 I did pray along those lines you said but I don't know if I should do it? and thank you. You mean, say Good bye? I think you should, especially if you've told him—with confidence and authority, not all wishy-washy—that none of this self-sabotaging behavior is going to suddenly make you have feelings for him in the way that he wants. So he either stops acting melodramatic or you're out of his life for good and in the process he loses an actual friend—from the sounds of it his only friend (i'm assuming here, i don't know). You've got to make it known that YHWH is the one you aim to gratify, not people; call him out on his manipulative behavior and declare that you will not be manipulated to the point that you disrespect your God. Our messiah died to free us from all bondage. The way you describe it, he's making you his emotional "slave" (maybe "slave" is too strong of a word") No, it's not. This has got to end. Of course, ask YHWH for help, for strength, to give you the boldness to say it, to keep your friend safe, to give your friend sense, wisdom and understanding. Maybe he'll snap to his senses and you can remain friends. Above all, ask for YHWH's will to be done.

I will pray on it now and tomorrow and cause I'm afraid that my feelings will turn badly and loving him if I stay as his friend and I'm so scared to go insane because of it...I tremble every time I log on and see him.I was afraid to act selfishly. Also when I was about to tell him "goodbye",he told me that maybe I'm wrong and it's not right. He told me he "loved" me cause I was the "only" one who cared this much for him.
(Thank you so much, you hit me where I need to be)

Glad to have been of help 3nodding ♡ Also, there are four types of love exemplified in the scriptures: Eros - erotic love; YHWH only allows eros in marriage between two people of the opposite sex. Storge - family love shared between mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, etc... Philia - friendly love, fellowship, the love between buddies and fellow christians Agape - sacrificial love, willing-to-give-up-your-life-for-another, completely self-less kind of love. Our feelings for friends do develop into love, but it's not necessarily Eros. Your friend might not be aware of the differences either. You could even email him about it or study it together online. It's definitely a subject worth studying. Good Night P.S.You don't have to be scared because YHWH is your protector and he'll never turn his back on you if you're desperately calling out to him for help; so, have the faith of lion. Nothing can defeat you when YHWH's on your side. Isaiah 41:10New International Version (NIV)10 So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Psalm 34:17New International Version (NIV) 17 The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.Psalm 145:19Amplified Bible (AMP)19 He will fulfill the desires of those who reverently and worshipfully fear Him; He also will hear their cry and will save them.fear = respect

I tell myself this and look for scriptures on not being afraid. But I get scared, freakish things come to mind and in my dreams. My older brother told me that the mind is a powerful thing and I have to keep calm.I've gained high anxeity ever since I met him.I've had it before but not as bad.Well,Two people told me it was the right thing to do,but another said it wasn't.I'm so lost and confused. You have helped me but I think he needs help.I will continue to pray.
