In legends it was told that at the end of the 20th king's rule, The Shadow would step forth and re-establish his rule. The Great Warriors would fight long at the side of young prince, but eventually they would fall together, leaving the lands at the mercy of this great darkness. Now the 20th king was advance in age, but still very healthy. His young son, Elliot, would often go on hunt for him and give him the best of the game as gifts. One day Prince Elliot came running into the throne room, completely out of breath. "In the forest...." he gasped, "I've seen signs of The Shadow..... Any early coming!" He ran to the throne, "Father, we must---" He was cut off as the King suddenly collapsed and stopped breathing. Elliot caught his father and cried loudly.

It was confirmed by the Arch Mage shortly after this event that it was through the power of The Shadow that the King had fallen and The Shadow was returning. Prince Elliot met with the highest mages and military officials, and it was decided that he would throned early and the Great Warriors must be found immedietly. Prince Elliot was granted the throne on the spot, without ceremony, and ordered every gaurd in the kingdom to search for the strongest looking warriors that couldbe found. They must be brought to the castle and tested by the Arch Mage himself. If the warrior was found to be one of the few spoken of in legend, they would be requested to take and oath to the young King to seek out the approaching evil and fight alongside him in the battle against The Shadow.

"Hmmmm, strong looking warriors," Latana sighed, a hint of irritation in her voice, "That's very specific when they have you looking in the capital city, which is neeeever full of strong men...." She scanned the the marketplace, most of the men at the stalls were warriors. "There's got to be something more distinguishing about these men to know whether they or not they are even worth bringing to Elliot...." Latana mumbled to herself, closing her eyes and rubbing her brow in frustration, "And just because I'm a mage they think I should be able to 'sense something different'..."

Zonarch was walking through the marketplace with it's wares constantly tempting him. It's been days since he had the money to eat a full course meal, let alone shop for another outfit. So many tantalizing possibilities and any of them could disguise the fact that he was from a different realm from this one. Looking around he noticed a woman who seemed like she lost something and it was agitating her. He walked up behind her and tapped her shoulder. "Miss? Did you lose something?" Zonarch didn't know if he could help her seeing as he was new to this world, but he had to try and help somehow.

"No, no, I didn't lose anything," Latana turned around and spoke to him in an unintended sharp tone, "I've just been sent on an impossible task." She noticed that he was dressed somewhat differently. "Oh, pardon my rudeness," she smiled and took on a lighter tone, "You look like a traveler." She offered her hand, "My name is Latana, I am one of the mages to the king. We are offering shelter to pilgrims at the castle."

Zonarch looked down at his clothes and wonder how they made him look religious. "I am indeed a traveler of sorts, but a pilgrim I am not." Zonarch began to get a little more conscious of his outfit as he decided he needed a new one soon. "My name's Zonarch. So you're a mage for the king here. Mind if I ask what this impossible task is?" Zonarch tried to give a helpful smile.

"I am supposed to be searching for some 'warriors of legend', but we have no idea what they even look nor do we know any way to identify them," Latana explained, "Anyone we think stands out we are supposed to bring back to the king to be tested." She sighed, scratching her head, "All I have to go off of is that they are supposed to seem powerful in way."

"That does seem like a rather difficult task." Zonarch scratched his chin in thought. "What kind of power are we talking about, cause where I come from we describe someone powerful in a skill, such as strength, speed, mind, or something else that's spiritual. I've also been to a couple worlds where people are considered powerful because of their wealth. It's such a confusion really."

"Power that you could fight with," Latana told him, looking him over a little closer. She had seen foreigners before, but nobody had looked anything like him. "Our most powerful enemy is returning, and are looking for our 'defenders of legend'," she explained further, "So, where are you from? I can't say that I've ever seen anyone that has looked like you."

'Well I'm from a different world. So is this power like physical strength, or fighting skill. Cause in my experience, the one with most strength cannot hope to defeat the one with most skill." Zonarch suddenly realized what he said and tried to cover it. "I mean I'm not around here . . ."

A man ran past Zonarch and Latana holding an arm full of items. "Stop, theif!" Another man had his sword drawn, chasing after him. He had long blonde hair, blue eyes. Although he looked young, he was in his mid twenties. He wore steel armor with a sword to match.

"Hmmm..... I think there's something special about you, Zonarch," Latan smiled smiled with a thoughtful look, "I want to see you stop that thief. There's something I want to know about you."

Zonarch looked at the thief that ran past. "Well, he's kind of fast, but I'll give it a shot." Zonarch focused his energy into his feet and melted into the ground. A few seconds later he popped up right in front of the thief. "Alright, it actually worked!" Zonarch was smiling and looked up and noticed he had stopped the thief. "Uh, hi, mind stopping for a little chat?"

The thief was baffled, dropping all of his stuff. He drew a dagger and pointed it at Zonarch. Isaac and some guards came up behind the criminal and grabbed him. "Don't know who you are, but thanks for the help. Listen, you and your friend should come by the barracks later. You can fill out a report, and pick up your reward for the capture of a wanted criminal." he smiled, put away his sword and walked away.

"Yeah sure! Happy to help." Zonarch was a little thrilled that he now made a little more money to spend on one or more outfits now. He looked back to Latan. "You want to go fill out that report?"
