Carey unlocks the door and slowly opens it, looking around with detached curiosity. All three beds were empty, which reaffirmed what she had been told--no roommates yet. "Suites me fine," she mutters to herself as she walks in and shuts the door, moving automatically toward the end bed and tossing her two bags on top of it. Within a few moments, she finishes unpacking her meager belongings and moves to the window. "Home sweet home..." she sighs, before shifting into her bobcat form and laying down to wait.

You must be one of my room mates, Now where is the second? I will just have to wait." The touched the floor and a portal opened. "I'll be back when the second comes, hell awaits me." She stated before descended down the steps the portal slamming shut behind her as well. A man that looked the same age as the woman who left rose from the ground and stretched. "Ahh the master is feeding again? I suppose I could tidy up the room for my master." The man looked at the small bobcat and nodded his head toward her. "Hello, I am Xianthius the pet of Xianali who is your room mate." He stated before beginning to clean. the pet

Eve Lenux slowly opened the door to her new home, doing her best not to disturb her new roommates. By now the two girls had probably bonded and become good friends. The addition of a new person, whom they new nothing about, would most likely cause them to question Eve. The possibility of the two girls disliking the young Faun was high. Most Fauns stayed in the forest, spending their lives honouring Pan, the god of Satyrs and Fauns, with monthly vigils that involved sexual acts. Eve could only assume the worst as she opened the door the rest of the way. Would the two girls find it odd that she had only one suitcase of items? Would they find it even stranger to see that her suitcase wasn't even filled all the way? Perhaps it was bad for the girl to be so self conscious, but it was her first time out of her homely forest and into the modern, concrete surrounded world. It scared her.
The Faun was quick to notice which two of the three beds had been claimed by her new roommates. It looked like she would be getting the middle bed. Sighing softly, Eve rolled her suitcase into the room with her and shut the door after it had made its way through the doorway. "Hello," the Faun began cheerfully, "I guess you two are who I'll be living with for the rest of the year." Eve proceeded to unpack her things, being extra careful as she pulled out a worn looking drawstring bag and placed it on the bed. "My name is Eve Lenux, by the way," the Faun hastily added as she placed the drawstring bag and a knit berret in one of the drawers of the nightstand next to her bed. Eve continued to put her things away, her school uniform hanging in the closet, placed far away from one of her roommates outfits that were also accomidating the closet as to avoid confusion when they had to get dressed for school in the morning, her only casual skirt placed in the drawer directly beneath the knit berret and drawstring bag, and her suitcase hidden underneath her bed.
Eve let out a relaxed breath as she sat on her bed. Although unpacking hadn't taken her very long, the trip to the school had been a lot longer than she had anticipated. The young Faun had traveled by herself, not wanting to delay her family's pre-winter harvest, for winter months in the forests north of the academy were often brutal and she wanted her family to have enough to survive off of. The trip had taken her at least a day and a few hours to reach the school. A rest, by her book, was well deserved.
Disliking the silence, Eve tried to strike up a conversation and find out more about her roommates. "So, um, what race of mytho are you two?" It was a weak way to start up a conversation but Eve was hoping something would build off of it and talking to her roommates would become natural as they dealt with school together.

Xianali turned her head a full 180 degrees to face the faun of such a wonderful scent. "Ahhh it has been long since I have seen your kind. I am interested in what region you came from... I may have been there a few centuries ago." Slowly the woman's body face the direction she did and revealed a tall pale woman with hair so long that it almost touched the floor. She studied the faun with a constant inviting smile. "I do not sleep on beds so you may have which ever one you like although I am not sure of the other girl who resides here. I am Xianali and I am in fact-" She shifted into a medium size dragon with lavender scales that reflected her hair color. " a shape shifter." Slowly her body reformed its previous state, the tall pale woman. "However I was raised by succubi. After that I spent many years with vampire clans, helping them struggle along and survive afterwards I stayed in one werewolf pack due to invading their territory unknowingly, but soon I became very dear to them. My desire to explore the ocean compelled me to go into the oceans which I did for many decades and became aqcainted with multiple species of marine life. Lastly I traveled through the mountains and forests where I met Harpies, Elves, Centaurs, Minotaurs, Nagas, and Fauns." Xianali outstretched her hand and out of it came a small double flute. "This was a gift to me, maybe it would come into better use by you." Xianali folded her legs and floated in the air.

Eve smiled graciously at her roommate. This kindness was warm and welcoming. The young Faun watched in awe as the slender woman before her shifted into a dragon. She had only heard tales of such dangerous, yet majestic, creatures. The Faun perked up a bit as Xianali asked what region she came from. "I come from the northern region of Creaots. It isn't very well known by other mythos. In fact, very few Fauns even know about my region. It would be amazing if you had ever been there," Eve bubbled, feeling a sense of pride as she talked of her homeland.
The Faun listened eagerly to the shape shifter's tales of adventure. Eve only had dreams of exploring distant regions and realms. She would never be able to actually go on such an adventure though, seeing as how she would have to help her family with the solstice festivals and season changes. Eve couldn't help but envy some of the more free mythos, those who could blend in easily with the human world and were not bound by tradition to stay in their homelands for most of their life. "I am curious," the Faun began thoughtfully, "to know how one such as yourself ends up in this academy. You seem to have been able to explore so much of the world already, why spend time here where to only exploring you'll do is in a text book?" Eve smiled softly, hoping that she did not offend Xianali. Xianali, however, did not seem like the type to easily offend.
The young Faun stared at the double flute in shock. It appeared to be made by another Faun region in the west, or something elvish, but the almost Celtic-like design carved on the instrument was far to similar to carvings she had seen on wooden toys from the western Faun regions. "I can't accept that from you, though I am very grateful for the offer, but that's been personalized for you." Eve moved so she was closer to Xianali and pointed at one of the cravings on instrument. "This is your name... well as close as Fauns can get to it in our traditional language. It says Xini, which means graceful and beauteous," She gazed over the instrument slowly, taking her time to point out the different features of the instrument. "This one here," the Faun began again, "symbolizes long life." The particular carving she had pointed to looked similar to an hourglass filled entirely with sand.
After finishing her observation of the woodwind instrument, Eve let out a small bubble of a giggle. "That's why I can't accept this from you. It's been entirely crafted for you. I have my own reed pipes that my papa gave me. They were in the drawstring bag I just put away." Eve pulled the bag out and brought out her simple set of reed pipes. They weren't as well decorated as Xianali's double flute, but they had a sense of charm all on their own. There was a simple carving of their family name "Lenux" on the middle pipe and vines were carved over the pipes, extending from the source which was the family name. It represented how the Lenux family would continue to pass the reed pipes on from family member to family member, mainly those who were gifted in music, and would continue to remain with in the family tree.
"Xianali, if you'd like I could give you double flute lessons. The sound is really wonderful once you can play it properly, but the technique is a bit difficult to master," the Faun offered helpfully. A treasure such as the one Xianali had should be put to use. Her shape shifter roommate would most likely appreciate the gift more than she already did if she knew how to use it.

"This treasure is too great for someone like me but nevertheless I will treasure it so. Yes it does seem rather interesting and odd to come to a school that has not much of anything to teach me, there is more to my story but that will have to wait young one. I wish not to bore you. You the reason is in my history. I taught many creatures in many schools like this but unfortunately unspeakable things have happened to these schools and creatures due to war and hunts initiated by humans. Humans fear many things and what they are afraid of they naturally fight and demonize what could be a holy creature and exterminate the being's prescence at all costs. Humans are interesting....and dangerous...I have come here to ensure as much as I can the safety of the mythos here. I was too late for many others..." Her eyes so pristine shed crystalline tears that seemed to blend in with her pallid skin as she remembered the burned villages, temples, schools, and other places of joy the mythos created destroyed mercilessly before she could ever dream of protecting the places that were once sacred once upon a time.
"You see, by traveling this world far and wide have reached true knowledge which many of my brethren have dubbed inner peace or true wisdom...whatever you may call it and I sense small disturbances in the flows of life of this world. I know the humans do not know of this place but that could be the doom of this place. Humans fear what they do not know or cannot see and will do anything to find and seal the unknown object away or worse....tension in this area caused me to become wary of possible hostility towards defenseless mythos....Yes many here are warriors of their own kind and can handle a threat welll but they need help....and I am willing to be that help. My brother or my servant which he likes to be called has agreed to aid me in this quest to preserve the mythos and their way of life. Do not be alarmed by his prescence." She assured the faun and nodded to her brother who entered in this school as her pet for reasons she could not comprehend. "I would be delighted to have lessons from a faun of such noble upbringings, this is something I could definately learn. I know how to make a double flute but I cannot play such a thing, how ironic." She mocked herself before patting the faun softly on the head.

Opening her eyes, Carey stretched and yawned, just waking up from a nap. With a quick glance around the room, she realized her roommates had arrived. Well, I don't want to be rude... she thought to herself, shifting out of her bobcat form. She moved to her bed and tossed her black jacket on top of it, leaving her dressed in dark, worn in jeans with a hole in one knee, and a dark blue tank top which fit close to her body. Pushing her dark grey hair out of her face, her hazel eyes quickly scanned the two in front of her.
I'm Carey, and I guess we're living together, she told the two as she hopped up onto her dresser and fiddled with the black fingerless gloves she was wearing. As her hair fell back into her face from the movement, her cat ears became visible. Sorry about not introducing myself before now.

In response to the bobcat who just transformed Xianali bowed and walked to her calmly. "Hello Carey...I am Xianali." She bowed once more before tracing the ground in the middle of the floor with her fingertips bidding grass and vegetation to grow. By doing this she crafted a nice grass bed for herself fit for the gods and slowly draped herself in it relishing in the warm feeling of the grass and the inviting aroma of the multicolored flowers that surrounded the grass. "Beds are to harsh on my body, I prefer this much more." Xianali carefully cultivated her grass bed from the inside so that everything was perfect and not just a haphazard of grass and vines.
"So what mytho might you be, Carey?" Xianali questioned she was not very caring if the response was malicious or not she just wanted an answer. "Oh and it is quite alright, I did not want to wake you from what seemed like a delightful catnap." Xianali yawned herself and noted her exaughstion while she twirled and twisted the vines in her bed. This work must be conducted meticulously and she intended to do just that because it was an ancient weaving technique handed down to her by a good friend of the elf tribe she lived in.

Raising one eyebrow, Carey watched her roommate in her grass bed. Well, she said, trying (and not succeeding) at holding back her sarcastic nature, I did just shift from an animal into a human...so I'm going to go with a shifter. She smiled, trying to dampen the edge her voice had probably taken. New situations with new people made her extremely uncomfortably and edgy.

"For all I know you could have been a neko or an illusions mytho so it is good to see another fellow shifter. So young at that." Xianali has dealt with this before and she does not mind sarcasm nor does she mind politeness from time to time. "So what compelled you to come to this establishment?" Xianali asked as she finally finished the last weaving on the west wing of the immaculate grass bed. "I would hate to be churlish so please tell me if I offend you with my inquisitive nature..." She added so that the creature would feel alittle more comfortable with the ancient mytho.
The servant, her brother Xianthius, began to brush her long cascading lavender hair and put up into a tidy bun for sleeping. He stuffed the bed with soft materials and fabrics for comfort and finally put her harp there so she could play the song she always played before she closed her eyes to the beautiful world. "My servant does not speak our language so it would be best that you write what you need down because he can read and write our language. He will disappear when I will him to so do not worry about being watched by a man. I assure you he only wants to serve me." She turned to him and spoke in a very lucid and hushed voice which must have been their langauge and he ran off to get something. "I belive refreshments would be nice. Personally I am hungry and I thirst for wine." She smiled readying her harp.

Umm...someone I was...close to suggested the school, Carey said, her voice growing soft as her eyes turned out the window. You know, I think I'm going to head out for a bit. I'll see you guys later. Without another word, she grabbed her jacket and was out the door.

Eve regarded Carey with a gentle, friendly smile. She could not rush the development of a friendship with her second roommate. The Faun quietly watched Xianali and Carey interact, trying to pick up the behavioral nature of her second shifter roommate. Although she was sarcastic and seemed to have a wall built around her in the presence of both Eve and Xianali, Carey seemed to be a friend, but had many layers around her to protect her from some sort of emotional harm.
When Carey left, Eve turned back to Xianali and stared at amazement at the woven bed before her. Not even Fauns could do something so... so perplexing to nature; and they were the children of Pan, a God devoted to nature! Eve returned to sitting on her bed, stretching out her sore limbs from the days journey and smiled pleasantly at her slender roommate. Xianali seemed content with her bed and as she prepared herself for the night's rest, Eve realized that the long day would becoming to its end.
Eve's ears flickered slightly when Xianali mentioned beverages. A cold glass of water or some warm chamomile tea to put her at ease sounded like a wonderful thing. Of course, the mentioning of wine quickly cause Eve to re-contemplate her decision. Wine was something Fauns would only drink at their ceremonies honoring Pan. It was considered sacred to the Faun people and often made Fauns smashed within a few sips of the beverage. "Ah, no thank you Xianali. I'm quiet alright."
"Is there anything you'd like to know Xianali? Like about my home region or just anything in particular about my race?" Eve chirped. Although Xianli was years older than the young Faun, Eve believed that there were still somethings that she did not know of. Plus it seemed like a good way to begin a conversation before the two went to sleep.

Xianali nodded very eagerly. "I would like to know more about your region. I know alot about your history and race but the individual regions and customs that vary among the regions I have yet to learn. Please enlighten me. Oh and are you sure you wnat nothing? Lemonade or water? Ask me anything and it will be granted." She smiled and was given the wine she requested which was aged quite well and the aroma from it was already intoxicating. "Or maybe some berries would hit the spot."
Xianthius came back with some berries and nuts for Eve and a cup of cold water. He bowed his head solemnly and returned to Xianali's side.

Eve smiled thankfully at Xianthius. She felt guilty that she was unable to communicate with him through language. It just felt odd, to put it simply, to make requests for items but unable to hold a conversation with him. The Faun nibbled at the nuts and berries, relishing the tart sweetness of the fruits and crunch of the nuts. Eve turned her head as the smell of the wine reached her nose. She couldn't understand how people could enjoy such a strong and putrid smelling beverage.
"My region is the furthest north of all the Faun regions. It's very secluded and in deep woods. From my understanding, we are also the furthest from human settlements." Eve carefully though of what she would say next, not wanting to bring up information illogically. "Creaots, my region, is one of the five original settlements. The Fauns there live by the traditional customs and practices of the Fauns from Greece. By that I mean every half and full moon many Fauns will gather in a clearing and participate in vigils and offerings to Pan that often involve some form of sexual act." Eve blushed at the thought of the vigils. They were often quite loud and filled with laughter, moans, and most noises associated with lust. "My family does not attend the vigils very often, in fact I've only been to one and I just observed. I didn't want to participate in the night's activities."
The young Faun shifted, trying to get comfortable, and smiled absently as she took her time to think. "The winters are harsh in the region of Creaots, so many Fauns begin stockpiling foods that cannot spoil now and prepare their living accommodations with necessary things like animal furs and candles."
"My region is not well known for trading goods, wood carving or anything else in particular. Most other Fauns only know Creaots for the abilities of the Fauns who live their. We are often more powerful than most Fauns and our bond with nature is stronger, giving us a advantage with nature based magics." The girl shrugged her shoulders, finding her region rather boring. Fauns who came from the Southern, Western, and Eastern regions were often more modern and had skills in certain fields that the North did not have access to. "I apologize if my region seems rather, well, dull to you. If I were a Faun from the West I would be able to tell you things about wood carving and instrument making."
