Just throwing it out there. Do you enjoy Greek Mythology? What's your favorite story? God/Goddess? Do you ever read up on any of it? Again, random question. I've always thought that stuff was pretty cool. smile

We did this in freshman English. I enjoy the Nemean Lion. My roleplay character, Ryou Domavonie, has a jacket. That jacket was the lion's hide. But I got bitched at for being unfair, so now that same jacket is just a lame version.
I don't read up on it much anymore, but I do find it enjoyable.

Mine!!
I also made it fireproof. I'm almost certain the Nemean Lion waas made into the constellation Leo after Herucles finished the trial.

My favorite myth's always been The Rape of Persephone, but really, it's hard not to find something I love about any one of the most notable. I've always had a soft spot for tragedies, after all. lol
My favorite god is probably Ganymede, being my sign's namesake constellation, and the patron of homosexual love on top of it all. cool

Shanna66 hades is my favorite. shame he nearly always gets portrayed as the bad guy in movies and books It's kind of weird, too, given his neutrality in Greek myth. I mean, I understand the western idea of Underworld = Hell, but in the context of Greek/Roman myth, the Underworld is pretty explicitly they're be-all, end-all afterlife. In that sense, Hades is as much the Devil as he is the Christian/Catholic God. Now, Thanatos on the other hand— he has potential for villainy.

I've always liked Apollo. He was the god of, not just the sun, but of music and poetry, too. My style. biggrin

My favorite has got to be Ares. Yes, he's the god of war and that doesn't exactly make the world a better place, but he's still my favorite.
