And normally this wouldn't be a problem. I mean hey, I've been playing Pokemon since I was 3-4 years old, and I have almost EVERY game that exists.... I'm only missing Pearl, and plan to buy it after I go to Japan and have extra money available.

So you might ask which version I have asked for... Well....

It's the very rare 1996 original Japanese release of Pokemon Green Version (which was not and never will be available under normal circumstances in the United States, where I kinda live).

Most people would say it isn't worth the money (used copies starting at about $35.00!!!), but I think playing it would be the ultimate experience for a hardcore fan such as myself. I also happen to be learning Japanese, so understanding the text and all wouldn't be that much of a problem, and would probably help me learn.

So do you think that it is worth the effort of trying to convince my mother to spend that much money on an old Pokemon game?

It depends what you want. Do you want a new version or a used version? Personally I don’t think $35 is a bad price for a video game, even though in this case it’s old, used, and shouldn’t be worth that much. I would only ever get a used version, though.

But hey, if that’s what you want for Christmas, I’d tell her. I just wouldn’t ask for a new one. Haha. xd

I played some of green version on an emulator a long time ago.
I say if you want to get it, you should definitely ask.

I was just checkin it out on ebay, and used ones run around 20 bucks.
some are even 14.99., and amazon has some for around 25 or so
But since it is an older game, just as a warning there is a chance the battery inside it is dead/almost dead.
Meaning it wont really save anymore.
But there are tutorials online that show you how to replace them.
I had to do that for my pokemon crystal when I bought it from a used gamestore where I live. After that it'll work great, and save. smile

could be worth it,going back to the origins of the Pokemon saga
then again i love the classic games so im a little bias
long as you enjoy the game id say its definitely worth it
