Well, now the Mavericks have Lamar Odom and it's almost like we got nothing in return.

Personally, I'm not even excited about the Mavs' acquisition of him.

To make things worse, J.J. Barea agreed to a 4-year, $19M deal with the Minnesota Timberwolves. emo Why the hell would the Mavs not offer this man a multi-season deal!? They signed Delonte West to "replace" Barea.

Dwight Howard says the only teams he'd sign long-term deals with is the Lakers, Magic, Mavericks, and Nets. Since Dallas is in the mix, I'm excited again. biggrin

While Caron Butler also signed with the Clippers, the Mavs will still have great talent in their lineup, they still need a true center though other than Ian Mihinmi or whatever:

Jason Kidd, Vince Carter (reunion), Lamar Odom, Shawn Marion, Dirk Nowitzki

If stays with the Magic, then they'll just be a good team. If he goes to the Nets, then they'll be a good team. If he goes to the Mavericks or Lakers, then they'll make a great team, but that's just my opinion.

Apparently, Orlando has ended trade talks for Dwight Howard.

With Billups, Butler, and Griffin, the Clippers should be pushing for a playoff seed this year.

The Grizzlies resign Marc Gasol to a 4-year, 58 million dollar contract.

This just in: Clippers and Hornets agree:

http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/7353870/sources-los-angeles-new-orleans-hornets-agree-chris-paul-trade

Clippers get Paul, Hornets get Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first round draft pick.

Now that they got Paul, they should be looking towards the playoffs now. But then again it is the Clippers, I'll believe when I see it.

Same here, they still have to beat some good teams before I'm convinced.

Yeah, I think the Clippers could push for the seventh seed at best. We'll wait and see how their season will turn out.

Indeed. I still think the Clippers are the 2nd best team in town, and still need to beat the Lakers to prove otherwise.

It would be nice to see the Clippers as a threat rather than a team circled on the schedule as an easy win, but they still need to prove themselves.

I don't know about you guys, but I would be seriously fearing the Clippers right now.

Chris Paul and Blake Griffin are two great players, probably top 10 in the league.

Add to that Caron Butler, and Chauncey Billups off the bench.

This is a top 4 seed I believe.

I think the Clippers will secure the other homecourt advantage spot for the first round but won't win the division.
