Personality:
Ghost is as silent as his name-sake. He hardly makes a sound, and never vocally or mentally. Speech, or communication, is through body language. The flick of a tail can mean a whole lot. He is albino and very powerful. Although he is powerful, he never uses more strength than necessary to accomplish a task.

He prefers to live where his white coat hides him well. A vast stretch of arctic tundra is his home. He prefers the solitude and lives mainly off the numerous arctic hares. Ghost guards his territory carefully. Nothing larger than a hare moves within his territory that he doesn't know or finds out about quickly. Those that wish to pass unmolested through his territory must leave a hare or two as an offering on a hill top. Respect that he is Master there and all is well.

Entry:
The snow was falling. Slow, big, fat flakes drifted down. A slight breeze had them drifting at a shallow angle. Upon that breeze also drifted a scent. The strongest scent was that of equine. Horses and packmules; under that he could smell humans. Enough that he wondered what they might be doing crossing across his part of the tundra. Still there was something else that tickled his nostrils. For a moment he couldn’t place it as the icy wind whirled around him. Kage. The white male blinked.

He drifted silently across the snow. Not more than a hint of movement, as his white coat blended so well with the snow. Only his eyes stood out. He knew his territory like the back of his paw. His limbs responded easily to his demands. He felt as though he was flying over the snow. Not even the tundra hares could outrace him. His nose lifted to the air. The scent was strong, and growing stronger. It would be no time before the group was within sight.

Barely breathing hard, he paused atop a small hill. Staring down he could see the animals, wagons, and the humans. The Kage he hadn’t spotted yet, though their scent was stronger. Nothing moved through his territory that he wasn’t aware of and approved. This group, these humans, had not been approved. Off the hill he went, silent as a shadow. Why where they here? To poach his hares or simply travel through?

He moved closer in plan sight. Yet, using the snow as cover as only he could. The first wagon was quiet and dark. He passed by it. The next had sounds, but they did not appear to be of interest. A third and it held promise. There were more voices. Deep voices. He stopped moving and practically vanished from sight, except his red eyes. Listening he could make out distinct voices and words. His ears twitched at the sounds. They were talking, but it meant nothing to him.

He went past that wagon too. Further down the line and the scent of kage got stronger. Here was what had really brought him. Why were they with the humans? Of their own free will or not? Staked out around the wagon were five kage. After a moment, he revealed himself to them by simply stepping into the light. His head rose up; he was master here and they’d better know it. Five pairs of eyes fixed onto his. He gave a twitch of his ear as though asking why they be here. Immediately all five set off howls, as he could not, to warn their masters of an intruder.

Instantly he decided they didn’t belong. It was time for them to leave and he would help speed them upon their way. He faded back into the dark and snow. Moments later, men from the wagon came out to the kage. They seemed agitated and looked around frequently. Now it was his time. He moved into perfect position, and posed himself. His majestic white coat would hide his body, and burning red eyes like blood on snow. Would they notice? Would they?

It didn’t take long. The cry went up as one man pointed at him. He flicked his fluffy tail. That was enough to get them moving. Repeated viewings of glowing red eyes kept them moving. The caravan was quickly packed up and moving on. He followed. Harassing them now and again to let them know he was still watching. It was several hours before the caravan finally let his territory. He stopped and swept his tail side to side. It was unlikely they would be back any time soon.

By the time they reached their destination rumors would grow. Of a spirit Kage living in the icy tundra. Hushed whispers told at night of a ghost that prowled those silent fields. Who knew what it looked for. The northern lights flickered in the sky, reflecting off the snow and his pelt. Yes, he was Ghost.
