The Count of Monte Cristo, a classic tale of love, betrayal, and revenge... but what if Edmund wasn't stranded on a small island prison, and instead left to rot in the depths of space, saved only by the demon Gankutsuo, to return as the mysterious alien, the Count of Monte Cristo, driven to vengeance not only by his own anger, but a deep seeded evil slowly taking control of his body?
I was surprised by what I saw as a very interesting adaption of the classic novel, and became enveloped by its story. I laughed, I cried, I shared wonderful and painful moments with a realistic cast of parisian youths, caught up in a plot that could tear their lives apart, innocent or not, and I haven't even seen the ending yet!
It's deep compelling plot, unique art style, and intriguing setting can make it a little hard to follow at times for some fans, but overall it is an impressive and well rounded experience, and would highly recommend it.
Seen it? Love it? Hate it? Feel free to comment below!

Ah, good question, which I had to look into to discover...
Originally, it was an anime, which I am curently watching, (seen 21 episodes out of a likely 24, I believe). The creator then created the manga, which leads away from the anime's main character (Albert) to follow the Count, and explain the mysteries left by the anime

Lol I was referring to Gankutsuo being originally an anime. XP And I wholeheartedly agree, the novel and story are timeless, and something that should be most definitely be experienced by any avid reader.

Once again, I thought so...BUT I SECOND GUESSED MYSELF XD! Yeah, it is great...I'd have to say that the anime caught my attention before the book...When I heard of the novel, it sounded interesting. However...I was more interested after I watched the anime XD!

I plan on making another thread for that anime soon, among others.

XD Awesome, I will watch it, but believe me...I watch many animes XD!
