Mission 1: An eye for an eye:

4:01:59 PM GM Kiyohime Sorry if I take a little while to respond, I'm also talking to someone else over Gaia. No, normally I wouldn't do that while we're trying to play Shadowrun, but it's sort of an emergency.

4:04:38 PM GM Kiyohime Good, now before we begin, I guess I should tell you about Stun and Physcial damage. The way it works in Shadowrun is a little complex, so we'll just dumb it down to HP (hit points) and SP (Stun Points).
4:05:30 PM GM Kiyohime Open up a new notepad file or something, and write down your values for each. HP is calculated by 8 + (BODY/2) SP is calculated by 8 + (WILLPOWER/2).

4:07:43 PM GM Kiyohime Now, each Cyberlimb you own also gives you a plus 1 to your HP, so all told you should have 11 HP and 9 SP.

4:11:26 PM GM Kiyohime You're in an old laundromat, turned office, sitting at an old folding table and waiting for Lung-gom-pa, your fixer. The graffiti stained building might be falling apart, but there's a lot of state of the art security systems: reinforced doors, an automated machine gun turret and a GM-Nissan Doberman drone and full array of electronic anti-surveillance equipment.
4:11:39 PM GM Kiyohime The room is illuminated only by by the pale blue back-light of a large aquarium that encompasses the east wall. Schools of two headed fish swim back and forth, pausing sometimes to stare you for a moment, before scurrying off.

4:12:33 PM GM Kiyohime Yup, anything you want to do?
4:13:23 PM GM Kiyohime Oh, before I forget, a Fixer is sort of a middle man. He's the one who gets a Shadowrunner (you) jobs from clients (who usually prefer to be called Mr. Johnson).

4:14:25 PM Kiyohime GM So, what can I do in here without the fixer?
4:15:19 PM GM Kiyohime Not all that much, really. Do you want to just wait for him to get here?
4:16:16 PM Kiyohime GM Hmm, if it were me, I would go and tap the fishtank glass.... But that probably wouldn't do anything... so I guess so, yeah.
4:16:59 PM GM Kiyohime Some of the fish look at you oddly, you can't really be sure, but it looks like they see right through.
4:17:19 PM Kiyohime GM Creepy, yeah wait for the fixer.
4:18:19 PM GM Kiyohime Okay, oh, before I forget, when you want to say something in character, just put quotation marks around it. "Like this". When you want to talk to me, just do what you're normally doing. When I talk in character to you, I'll indicate who's talking, but you don't need to do that.

4:18:43 PM GM Kiyohime The electronic motor on the steel door begins to whine, and 'Lung-gom-pa' walks into the room, accompanied by a blond man who you've never seen before he looks closely at you before finally saying. “My apologies for having kept you waiting, there were... certain matters that could not be left unattended”.
4:18:53 PM GM Kiyohime The two of them take seatd at the table and your fixer says “Now then, on to the business at hand”.
4:20:16 PM Kiyohime GM Kiyohime looks silently at the blonde man sitting across from her before adressing her fixer. "So, what's the job?"
4:21:20 PM GM Kiyohime Mr. Johnson: "Straight to buisness eh? Well, basically I want to break into the Shinya Medical Centre's morgue and steal the left eye from a corpse".
4:22:03 PM Kiyohime GM Kiyohime raised and eyebrow, "Just the left?"
4:22:08 PM Kiyohime GM 'an
4:22:56 PM GM Kiyohime Mr. Johnson: "It contains an eye recording unit. Military grade, no metal and about size of a pencil tip, they don't plan on doing an Autoposy, but they would never find it even if they did".
4:23:56 PM Kiyohime GM "Ah, I see. Well then, any special ID for this corpse that I need to know of?"
4:25:23 PM GM Kiyohime Mr. Johnson: "He might be a little hard to recognize, but I have a picture of him from his old army days. I don't know what name he'll have been living under, but I do know that he paid to have his System Identification Number wiped clean, so as far as the hosptial is concerned, his name is John Doe".
4:26:34 PM GM Kiyohime He hands you a picture printed on faded paper. It shows Mr. Johnson, and several other men dressed in UCAS military uniformns, circled with a red pen is a young man in his mid twenties, white, with dark hair and a grim face.
4:28:25 PM Kiyohime GM Taking the picture, Kiyohime hid it in her belt. "Alright then." She then stood up, and touched her katana for good luck. "If that is all, I'll be off."
4:28:58 PM GM Kiyohime Mr. Johnson: "You don't want to hear how much I'm paying you first?"
4:30:06 PM Kiyohime GM Oops, haha. "I suppose so." Turning around, she faced Mr. Johnson. "How much?"
4:31:00 PM GM Kiyohime Mr. Johnson "Four hundred Nuyen, I'm not asking you to break into a military installation, just a public hospital".
4:32:42 PM Kiyohime GM She tipped her head as if to think. "Sounds resonable. I would appreciate it though if you would be willing to move up a bit should there be... complications."
4:33:32 PM GM Kiyohime I guess this would be a good time to teach you how to use the negotiate skill. You can use it to try and get more money from him.
4:33:47 PM Kiyohime GM Ah, thats a good thing to have.
4:34:37 PM GM Kiyohime You have Nogotiate 3, but specialize in Diplomacy, so when making a roll that requires Diplomacy, you get an extra two dice.

4:36:09 PM GM Kiyohime No. Negotitation is linked to Charisma (you have a 4 in that), so you roll nine.

4:40:45 PM GM Kiyohime In Shadowrun if a dice lands on a 5 or a 6, it's counted as a hit. The more hits you have, the better. If you have more 1's then hits, that's a problem, if you roll no hits, but get a lot of 1s. That's a huge proble,.

4:41:24 PM GM Kiyohime What this roller toll does is give us the number of dice that rolled 5 or great, thus simulating that.

4:42:34 PM GM Kiyohime Mr. Johnson: "Hmm, I don't think you'll have much trouble, but fine, here's 200 nY up front, you'll get the 400 when you deliver the eyeball to me".

4:44:45 PM GM Kiyohime Alright: It's been raining heavily for the past three days, the fog and the neon have mixed, giving the sprawl an almost ethereal quality. You can hear thunder in the distance.
4:45:00 PM GM Kiyohime Are you going to try and scope out the hospital?
4:45:55 PM Kiyohime GM Yeah, do I have any special equipment for that?
4:47:08 PM GM Kiyohime Well, you have a commlink, but you don't any points invested in hacker skills, so not really. You can look up some general information about it online though.

4:48:46 PM Kiyohime GM Kiyohime searches the network for information on the Hospital. Satisfied, she heads in the direction of the building, keeping an eye out for anything suspicious.
4:50:34 PM GM Kiyohime Okay, you find out that it's a hospital owned by some Japanese corporation. They have two wings, the North wing, which offers quality care to paying clients, and the South wing, which handles public health care. There's a parking garage in the middle, lower levels for staff, upper for visitors.
4:52:39 PM Kiyohime GM K, so do I have to come up with the info for things, or are you going to give the information to me? Also, am I just saying the quick commands of 'walking towards door' or do I write in story form?
4:53:49 PM GM Kiyohime I'll give you the info, and you can just say I walk towards that door. It might seem a sort of simplistic now, but if we had six other people on (which is possible) then we don't want to slow things down to much.

5:00:44 PM Kiyohime GM Ah, I'm starting to feel the gap in time from the last time I RPd... anyways. Kiyohime gets out of her car and walks to the front door.
5:01:44 PM GM Kiyohime Okay, but before you do that, you noticed a heavy steel door on the second floor of the parking garage, it says "NO UNUAUTHORIZED PERSONNAL".
5:02:19 PM Kiyohime GM Kiyhime looks around for any gaurds around the door.
5:02:48 PM GM Kiyohime None, no security cammeras either. There is a small electronic reader near the door. Do you want to examine it?

5:04:02 PM GM Kiyohime Okay, it's a palm reader, but there isn't any surface for you actually press your hand on. Hmm, guess it's time to teach you about Perception Tests.
5:05:25 PM GM Kiyohime When you make a perception test, you roll the sum of your intutition score plus your perception skill. In this case your sunglasses also have vision enhancement (rating 3) so you get an extra 3 dice added to your total dice pool.

5:07:12 PM GM Kiyohime You have Intution 2 + Perception 4 + Vision Enhancement 3 = 8 Dice.

5:14:07 PM GM Kiyohime Not that you would have needed it, because a 3 would have been more then enough. Anyway, you determine that the machine designed to read RFID chips tuned ot a certain frequency.

5:17:06 PM GM Kiyohime It picks locks, so no, that won't work here. Do do have a Micro Transciever, that can send messages via Radio Waves. From your perception test, you know that this machine will unlock the door if it detects a certain radio frequency. Though you don't know what the frequency could be.

5:22:34 PM GM Kiyohime Okay, you wait a few hours, and sure enough, around six PM an ambulance with the Doc Wagon logo pulls up behind the door, two men step out. One waves his hand in front of the scanner and sure enough the door opens, the other brings down a stretcher and the two move it into the newly opened door. Ontop of the stretcher is a body bag.
5:23:47 PM Kiyohime GM So, I wait for them to enter the door and leave. Then enter after them.
5:24:07 PM GM Kiyohime Can't, it closes behind them.
5:24:37 PM Kiyohime GM Darn. Attack them? Stun then somehow and grab the door before it closes?
5:25:51 PM GM Kiyohime Well, the door's pretty heavy, so I doubt you could hold it open, even with that Cyber Arm, you could try and attack them, but as far as I know you don't have any non lethal weaponry, and if you opened fire on them, the police would respond pretty quickly.
5:26:39 PM Kiyohime GM ......... feeling my nooby-ness. Ok, I'll look through my stuff.

5:28:11 PM GM Kiyohime Trained Paramedics can tell the difference between a dead woman and a live one. You could just use your Micro Transciever and broadcast on all frequencies.
5:29:24 PM Kiyohime GM .... Why didn't I do that before... ok. So now that I know that the door leads to where the bodies are kept, I'll just use the transmitter.
5:30:18 PM GM Kiyohime Eh, don't worry about it, you can come up with these things a lot easier when you have more players to talk too. Okay, you do that, and sure enough, the door opens up.

5:30:52 PM GM Kiyohime There's a small decontamination room, standard procedure in the event of an outbreak, no cameras, but you'll have to wait a minute.
5:31:56 PM GM Kiyohime Give me a perception test. Audio this time, so the vision enhancement won't work. Oh, and since anti-bacterial agents are being pumped into the room, you'll suffer a -1 penalty to listen.

5:36:18 PM GM Kiyohime I went a little overboard with the area description, so bare with me.
5:36:19 PM GM Kiyohime The Morgue is a massive room, taking up three entire stories. The examination room is on the second level, there are seven separate tables, as well as the latest in laser and computer equipment.
5:36:33 PM GM Kiyohime On the East North walls, are hundreds of honeycombed shaped pods, most are marked as unoccupied. A thick chrome railing prevents anyone from falling into the basement. There are three robot arms that move along slides in the walls and ceiling, you can't say for sure, but it look like they use electromagnetic grips to recover the pods and place them on the examination tables.
5:36:44 PM GM Kiyohime With your augmented vision, you can see that most of these pods are marked as “unoccupied”. The Entire room is refrigerated, and there's a rack of heavy synthetic wool coats handing on a rack near the employee entrance.
5:36:54 PM GM Kiyohime As far as you can tell, there is no one else in the room, and the lights have been recently been dimmed down to almost complete blackness. Aside from the LEDs indicated pod occupancy, the sole source of light in this room is a computer terminal that no doubt controls the robotic arms.
5:37:04 PM GM Kiyohime That's all.
5:37:43 PM Kiyohime GM Hmm, so I go over and examine the computer terminal.
5:38:15 PM Kiyohime GM Oh, and grab a jacket.
5:39:12 PM GM Kiyohime Cool thinking, it's chilly enough to see your breath in here. Anyway, the computer terminal uses a holographic interface, it's wired into the robot arms, and it has a full record of everyone currently in the pods.
5:39:49 PM Kiyohime GM Look at the records for the males and any John Doe.
5:40:50 PM GM Kiyohime There's a couple hundred of them here, you can compare their mugshots with the one that Mr. Johnson gave you, but it will take some time.
5:41:22 PM GM Kiyohime I guess now is a good time to teach you about Extended Tests.
5:41:42 PM Kiyohime GM Ok.
5:42:10 PM GM Kiyohime In this case you need to get a total of 10 hits to succeed. You don't have any relevent Cyber Skills, so you'll be rolling your Intution + Logic.
5:42:58 PM GM Kiyohime Every time you roll, we'll say it takes about 5 minutes. Your total hits are added up, and once you hit ten, you'll succeed, any questions?

5:55:01 PM Kiyohime GM ... giant blood covered people are never a good sign. I'll wait and try to figure what he is doing.
5:55:20 PM GM Kiyohime Well, you can see him sniffing the air.

5:57:32 PM GM Kiyohime Good roll. Okay, you can tell that he's bald, he has claws for hands and when he turns his head toward you, you see that his eyes are completely white - he's blind. Based on this, you think you're now dealing with a ghoul. He could have been in the body bag the two paramedics brought in.
5:58:35 PM Kiyohime GM Oh great. Let's see.... Could I try fighting him?
5:59:40 PM GM Kiyohime With the heat your packing, I'd say go for it. Since you're surprising him I guess you automatically win the first turn. Now I guess we go into how combat is done in Shadowrun.

6:00:46 PM GM Kiyohime Each round you get either 1 Complex Action or 2 Simple actions. So, you can fire your gun twice, but you can only reload once. You also get a free action, and can take that whenever you want.
6:01:13 PM GM Kiyohime Drawing your two pistols would be a free action, but before you do anything else, you should active your wired reflexes.
