So in all my reading I have always found Yule as the festival associated with Freyr and was wondering what that was. Does Yule celebrate the marriage of Freyr and his wife or something else?

If there is a reason this festival is associated with Freyr in the lore could some one please explain it?

Yule is primarily associated with Oðinn and Þórr, though many people honour Freyr also to ask for prosperity in the coming year. There's a bit describing Yule in the Saga of Hakon the Good:

Quote:
Odin's toast was to be drunk first—that was for victory and power to the king—then Njorth's and Frey's, for good harvests and for peace.

But yeah... Freyr isn't a major Yule figure.

Thanks San. Like I said I read/heard that Freyr was associated with Yule at some place and it confused me.

My first actual Yule ritual was to Odin and Thor for wisdom to make he best choices and the inner strength to face the challenges I may overcome.

I also thought Yule had to do with the wild hunt or is that something I misinterpreted again?
