Allan stepped into the dorm lobby, amazed by the sight. It was so different from the scenic lunch area, and nicely kept, unlike most of the classrooms. "I take it this is one of those hang-out areas you mentioned?" he joked, looking behind him to make sure Yvonne was still there, and hadn't left him alone with the dark centurion.

"Yeah. Lobbies are rather popular. There's also a student lounge." She jumped at a sudden crash in the Dorm Leader's office and blinked.
Garret stormed out of his office, his fists clenched and his face red with anger. He spotted Yvonne and calmed down, not wanting to upset or scare the poor girl. "Yvonne, it's lovely to see you. Is this a new friend of yours?" He paid almost no mind to Allen, and waved absent-mindedly to Alister. He wasn't a fan of males, and preferred to ignore them. "Got to go clean my office. See you later."
Yvonne watched Garret go back into his office. "Wonder who upset him this time. Are you okay, Allen?"
"I'm not. Uncle Garret scares me." Alister clung to Tenebrae's leg and got a look of disappointment on his face.

"I've had much worse treatment than that, trust me." He smiled at Yvonne. "Thanks for asking, though. I wonder what he was so angry about?" He scratched his head a bit, but soon snapped out of it with a sudden, potential realization. "Oh! I'm guessing he's the one I'm going to have to talk to about getting a room?"
Upon hearing Alister's statement, however, he couldn't help but smile and turn around to look at the kid. "I don't think you have anything to worry about, Alister." He spoke reassuringly, hoping to help brighten Alister's day a little, especially after seeing that look on his face, and the way he was clinging to Tenebrae's leg.

"Yep. Don't worry. He's actually very serious about his position as dorm leader, so he won't ignore you. If you want, I can talk to him for you." She liked Garret. He reminded her of her brother, and he was a brotherly figure to her.
'I know. He's nice to me because Mommy will kill him if he's not." He smiled and poked Allen's beak out of curiosity. "Is your beak made of bone?"

Allan smiled and nodded. "I think I'll be fine chatting with him, once he's cooled off a bit. I appreciate the offer, however." Then, with the sudden prodding of his face, he started laughing in response. "Well, Alister, It's actually a very thick and hard cartilage... It's almost bone, but a little more flexible." Science mode engaged, he starts rambling on about the complexities that make up the beak, and seems to finish his speech with a simple "Yet, unlike regular birds, we avorals have the ability to speak in all sorts of different languages... they can barely speak the language of the beasts - and I can't blame them! This thing can be a pain sometimes." He grins and blushes a bit, his first response being a little too childish for his liking... that, and he just now realized he almost gave the kid a freshman year lecture about the beak.

Alister, though he appeared young, showed no sign of confusion. When Allen was done talking, he smiled. "Shark skeletons are made entirely of cartilage. I read that in a college anatomy book a few weeks ago. I also learned how babies are made."
"Remind me to have Alinese restrict your reading material." She shook her head and dismissed Tenebrae, who had seemed to be getting sick from the non-magickally enriched air. "Going to summon again." She summoned Ratatosk, who appeared tired and slightly upset.
Ratatosk had been trying to understand his studies, but he had grown angry and stressed. When he saw Yvonne, his face brightened and he hugged her. "Yvonne, you're a life saver. I could kiss you. Well, you know, if you weren't already engaged."

Allan smiled once more at both the boys understanding, and the appearance of a much less... intimidating acting centurion. "Well now, someone looks like they ran out of mimosa leaves during a long night of potion-making." he chuckled a bit at his joke to Ratatosk. He took a moment to look around the room while waiting on a response, taking in all the different scenery and furniture.
"Y'know, I could get used to this place, pretty quick. I already like my classes, most of the people here seem really great and friendly..." He cast a friendly wink to Yvonne, "and everything just seems to fit, no matter how out-of-place it may be in this plane of existence..." He ponders for a moment, then turns back to his new friend. "Is the place normally like this, or is there some kind of secret I don't know about yet?" he jokes, hoping he's not correct about the latter assumption.

Ratatosk looked at Allen, and his gaze darked into a protective glare, and he almost lost it when the guy winked at her. Almost. But, he stayed calm. "Yvonne, he isn't bothering you, is he? No? Good."
Yvonne sighed and looked at Ratatosk. "Ratty, you need better people skills." She reached up and patted his head, smiling at his redden face. "Maybe I should have you stay here?"

"Well, I think it will calm him a little to know that I'm seriously not looking for any kind of relationship, if that's what worries him." He gets slightly defensive, yet is understanding of the guardian's reactions. "You've nothing to worry about, but I understand you're just doing your job. The way I see it, It's nice to meet you... Ratatosk?" Truly, he was once again just trying to lighten the mood. "Please, Yvonne. Let him come! How's he going to learn if not through both example and experience?" He smiled, hoping to get back on the centurion's acceptable company list... or at least off of its 'I hate this guy, let me at him' list.

"Oh, don't worry about him. Ratatosk is very protective of me. Of course, he is my main Centurion and he's completely in love with me. Right, Ratty?" She smiled at his annoyed yet accepting look at the nickname she had for him. "Don't worry. He won't kill you; no matter how threatening he appears. Just don't anger him."
Ratatosk watched the boy walk passed them, and his gaze turned murderous. He knew all about Kenji, and he was the only guy Ratatosk would be happy to strangle and tear apart. But, he controlled himself, knowing Yvonne wouldn't accept it.
When Kenji walked passed them and spoke to her, she hung her head so her hair covered her face. "I have to go. I'm sorry, Allen. Please, forgive me." She grabbed Ratatosk's wrist and pulled the Centurion with her.
Alister watched her leave and tilted his head, his ears drooping. "Yvonne is still hurt by Kenji. I don't know what happened between them. Mommy said they were a great couple, but everything fell apart for some reason." He looked over at Kenji. "He looks different from his original file picture."

Allan nodded acceptingly, a look of sorrowed curiosity in his eyes as he whispered, "It's alright, friend... Do what you need to." to Yvonne. He wanted to give her a hug in this state, but one - his flight feathers were stiff and scratchy, human-like creatures probably wouldn't enjoy that, and two, Ratatosk had said she was getting married. He gave this character, Kenji, a good look-over. "Well, I don't know, and it's not my business to know what happened. All I know is, I don't want to see my only friend here in a hurt state, emotionally or physically." He said to Alister, a spark in his eyes. "I think it might be best if you go with aunt Yvonne and her guardian, Alister... I don't want anything getting too ugly around here for you... I can sometimes overreact..."

Alister looked up at Allen. "No way. I'm going to run this school one day. I have to learn to solve problems like a mature headmaster." He smiled. "That's what Mommy says."

Kenji stood by the table but had stopped looking at the papers and was listening to what ever one was saying he knew he had a bad rep here but was hoping to get rid of it, if he just apologized or somthing but he knew that it was going to be hard he grabbed the papers and orginized them putting them back in his backpack then sat in one of the chairs and thought to himself he looked at Alister and smiled a bit then looked at the new person hmmm If i try and be nice to some one they may think im trying to get close to Yvonne again i need to talke to Alinese soon. he thought to himself
